WAS an active user of this app and found it very helpful. Then they decided to take it off line and decommission it! All my cook data was LOST without warning! --- From the About --- HAH! ***New User Accounts and Lifetime Data Backup*** Never lose your data again. Update: Finally figured it out, but don't like how long it takes to reload the recipe list everytime my screen either times out, switch between apps, or want to look at another recipe I uploaded. -------------------------------------------------- Where are the recipes? The recipe exchange supposedly has the Grill Master Essential Recipe Book, so I downloaded the app so I didn't have to print. No recipes appear. Nothing! Would love to use this, but it's empty.
Love the idea and the app is well organized. I would find this very useful... But Without a backup capability it's not valuable. I had numerous entries that were lost when I transitioned to a new phone. Add backup capability and this app is a winner.
The customer support is absolutely amazing. I has an issue where my journal disappeared. I emailed them and they responded within a day and told me that they were working on it and not to worry, it was all backed up. Today I received an email that it was fixed, and lo and behold, there it was, back in my app. Very highly recommend.
Awesome app, especially the journalling function. The FB login option doesn't seem to work on the website (works with the app). Sharing the journal only shows one timezone and it messes up the times of each log item. E.g 9:40am in the app becomes 12:15am on the webpage, however 11:05am becomes 2:52am (???). It would also be great to have an option for Celsius Vs Fahrenheit...
Way over-complicated to get up and running. Buy this, no charge. Then buy that, no charge. Then sign in, but wait - you PC account isn't the same as the App account. Interface about 10 years overdue for overhaul to the modern ages. Nope. Couldn't use it. Found more free BBQ recipes in 5 minutes doing an online search than I could squeeze out of this, even after giving it a few days trail.
Had used this app for a while, and while the user interface was only ok, it was the best app for smoking I could find. Unfortunately the other day all of my journals disappeared leaving me without records of my previous smokes. Bad UI I can live with, but all of my journals missing I can't.
Very good app. Captures all info from a cook so I can use it to improve/duplicate next time. One suggestion would be a warning if unsaved info is about to be lost, but otherwise, I love it.
Recipes won't import. The app dies eveeytime I try. I like being able to input my own recipes and cooking instructions but you really need to fix the import issue. I even emailed support several weeks ago but no response. Excellent response when I purchased something though.
Second time around and still receiving "unknown server error" when trying to signup with email; using Facebook method worked. Still mostly a redirect to a website, but does have a fee goodcrecopes and allows one to share their own.
Started getting push notifications saying I have a user balance of $1400 as well as I had messages from what appeared to be women as well. App is not what it says it is.. when you click on the push notification it redirects you to a (date-till-late) website.
First time looking for a Smoking Journal. This app needs the help of a designer. It feels like its stuck in 2005. Also, the spamming of add when you click on community was the deciding factor for me to not even waste my time. I give it a 3 star to be nice assuming it will improve over time. Currently it's a 1 star app in my opinion.
Bad app. Useless as the free version if you manage to find it. Purchased the wing and drum stick grill from Amazon. Product says it included 25 free recipes. Followed the manual instructions and had to click through multiple website links allow trying to get me to pay more money. Got the app eventually and it wanted personal information. I clicked the free version and there are no recipes available at all. I'll be making note of this and report it to Amazon.
In the time log, please make an option to input temperatures rather than relying on the slide bar. Slide bar is super hard to get precise.
Love the app, but my journals don't pull up and I can't see an entry I just made! Please fix this! Thanks.
Installed this app today and it is wonderful. I can store all my recipes and keep a journal. Also it look like they have some very good products for sale that I will have to try. It is an amazing app
I have enjoyed this app until today when it started pushing suspicious notifications to my phone. If this is a legit company that wants to have an ad supported app, they should choose better ad partners
I use this app much of the time I smoke or grill something. it's easy to use and I also like being able to check out other things on the community journal/recipes option.
Great app, an excellent tool for learning to BBQ, as you can record all you cook, and there are plenty of recipes to use to help you get started.
Good idea but needs work. The app constantly loses freshly input data and photos. Very frustrating
Horrible app. Half the recipes will not save. What's the use of having a recipe sharing app if you can't save the recipes. Uninstalled!
Just got a popup saying my $10 payment has been approved,but I didn't buy anything. If you took money from me you better quickly return it.app has been uninstalled!!
Installed app. Won't let me set up an account or let me log in. I'll have to find something else or just go back to Google timers and paper notes.
So far so good only had it a little while but it seems like a great place to keep recipes and cook times
Can not login via Facebook. Useless app since recipes can only be viewed on this app as the files are a CTR file type.
Don't waste your time with this app. Can't even log on any longer. Keep getting, "Unknown server error"
I absolutely love this app. I'm relatively new to the smoking scene, so I like to keep meticulous notes of every smoke I do. When Cave Tools app came out, I entered every smoke I had done before the app, and every smoke since. It is so helpful to look at the different variables in each session to help produce the best results possible. I consider this a must have for any newbie to the art of smoking.
