BC Wildfire

Edit: I emailed with the suggestion to change the icons and when I looked at the app again they have already done it! Now it's perfect. 😁 Love the app. I find that sometimes it won't initialize properly and I have to check back later which isn't ideal in a fire situation. I also find the icon for "out of control" and "fire of note" to be too similar. But I get way more info and the app is waaaay more user friendly than the government equivalent.

It's alright. There's really no other apps for such. This one is missing major hwy routes and roads on its maps!! Major issue if this is suppose to be helping people with evacuations and staying safe in travels. You need to look at a Google map sxs with this app layout to know which route to take as roads are missing!!! A serious issue and time consuming in needing to do. My son is in Williams Lake trying to get to Salmon Arm, the hwy there is missing on all this apps' maps!!

Love this app! Quick to load, even on my slow satellite internet. Better interface than the provincial wildfire map. Easy to hone in on specific areas to see details. Data uploads frequently. Thanks so much to the developers for keeping me informed where fires are burning nearby!

Love the app. I did suggest having the ability to de clutter the map to be able to look at each point individually. If it could do that It would really clean it up for phone use.

at this moment I'm unable to connect, the error says connection refused, but it's an amazing app. always kept up to date. only issue is that it seems that the fires that are in the states have way more information. why is that? just curious. great app. :)

This app is an amazing resource for anyone planning to travel or camp around BC, Alberta, and the western United States. Always up to date on hot spots to make it safer for everyone. Easily navigated for folks living near hot zones to stay up to date on evacuation orders and safety concerns.

Excellent app. AB wildfires stopped updating awhile back, go figure 🤔🙄 so I've been using BC Wildfire because they update all of North America. It is also a better more user friendly app than AB wildfire... too bad GofA couldn't learn some tricks from their counterparts in BC.

Plain Awesome given the app is created by two members of the public. Maybe we could get a donation button ... ? Things to improve: 1.) Make every screen zoomable - On the RATINGS screen (of wildfires) I couldn't read the icon identifiers due to too fine print. - 2.) Fire Details, need measurement consistency, i.e. Size of fire is given in hectares while "Distance from you" is given in kms. Recommend show both measurements ie metric & non-metric.- 3.) Add a screen for links such as BC AQHI.

This year has been insane for fires. While the fire departments are busy fighting this app is keeping us informed and allowing us to stay on top of all the notices and changes happening. As someone who lives in the back country to say this is life saving is an understatement.

Easy to navigate, and updated often. Very useful to keep an eye on wildfires and notifications in my area.

Considering that these guys are not rolling in strap startup seed capital this app is pretty impressive. The official app isn't nearly as good as this one (but there are still some things it has that aren't available here)

awsome! this app gives me a safe place in my head knowing where the fires are and where the damage will be, great for getting to know what to expect for, hunting, fishing, quading, and snowmobile later in the year! thx

The app has kept me informed of the fire situation where I live and the data is current. A very good and helpful app all year but especially during fire season.

Runs smoothly on S21 Samsung. Pls be sure to keep this updated ... Time sensitive info is critical. Slow or worse yet no updating renders this style of app useless . Pls be vigilant with updates. Ty

I like how this app shows the name of where the fires are and find it easy to use. Been a user of this app since 2017. Great job crew!

I live in a high risk fire area. Having quick access to info through a hamdy app is reassuring. Thanks guys for keeping my mind at ease!!

Does this app have (or can it get) information on fuel ratings near different WUIs? Like, if I have certain trees near my property, will they increase the risk/intensity/etc of wildfire?

Very impressed with that site would be nice if the BC government would take note of this and maybe do something along the same lines or better yet give these guys a bunch of praise and some funding to do better things. Keep up the great work. Cheers..

This has been my go to app., during the 2021 fire season.If I had 3000.00, I'd give it to the men who have developed this app.User friendly easy to navigate.Sorry, that millionaires(google) want even more money.

Any time i try notify me, I get an error. Also, the bans and restrictions info is not accurate.

I just got it and it seems very easy to understand so far May have questions 🤔 the more I use it. Thank you for being so ingenious in your design ❤

This app is a Lie! It's only showing fires in small portion in Canada when the whole west part of US is under fire!! LIIIIEEEE!!!!!

Hard and slow platform and layout for the fires. Very unorganized.
