Everybody is hating on an app that hasn't been updated in years. The fact that it's still even functional is a testament to what it was. The live background still works and is beautiful. I used it for a long time but with android 12, the custom themes stopped working. That's why this app tanked in rating. Up until android 12 I would've recommended this app, but now after all these years, it's unfortunately not amazing anymore, just good which is why it only gets 4 stars. Use the free version.

Android 12 update. I know there are many of us that have used and even continue to use this app throughout the years despite it no longer being supported. Many are complaining that the clock doesn't display. There is a work around if you use the default clock with no modifications it will still display. It just won't be as beautiful anymore. Lol But when given the only choice of beauty or functionality I'll take functionality.

It is now only work on default theme. Doesnt work with any add on theme. Could that be fixed? Great app! I had TIME UPDATING problem just like all other users. I found that my POWER SETTING was the problem preventing the time update. My power setting was set to RESTRICTED DATA BACKGROUND to save power. I set my phone to back to OPTIMIZED and everything works like dream again. Samsung note 8.

I used to LOVE this app when it was HD Widgets. Have used the app across 2-3 phones. I loved the versatility of the appearance and settings I could acheive. Now I can get the same appearance but a few things are causing problems now. Sometimes the display takes forever to load on my phone where I rarely ever had a problem with it loading. The other problem is the Time will not work correctly. If you restart the app the time will be on point, after a minute the time will not continue working. I have tried the battery in the background permission fix and it does not work. I would continue to use the app, actually I would prefer to use it compared to what I have had to use in it's place, but it needs to be fixed as it just drives me crazy seeing the time on the clock not changing to the correct time.

Like everyone is saying, after the android v9 (pie) update, the widget never refreshes on its own and devs have likely abandoned it. This was by far my favorite app for years, but it seems that it's time to move on. Don't spend your money on this until you hear that it's been properly updated. Edit: After playing around in the settings, I found that turning off auto optimization fixes the clock. Still not preferred, but if you love the app, it might be worth it.

I have had this app for years. It worked on my Samsung 3, 7 and 8. I just upgraded to 10 and now time does not display properly...it shows random times. When I go to settings it is correct, and go back to home screen and it is fine until the next time my phone goes to sleep. PLEASE FIX. I loved it for years and paid for the app, and wish to continue using it.

I've been a loyal BW Pro user for years. I have loved the many ways I can customize a variety of widgets for my home screen. Lately, the widgets are glitchy, especially the clock. Several times a day, the click will show the incorrect time - sometimes off by more than an hour! Yikes!!! No response from Level Up Studios after several attempts to contact them. Too bad - it's otherwise a terrific app.

No longer updates the weather. I love this app and the way I can create shortcuts to other apps. I have used it for many years and through many phones. suddenly it won't update the weather, says it has a "connection error." I uninstalled and reinstalled, only to have my weather last updated over 13,000 hours ago! Still using it for the other features and hoping they fix it soon!

This app lives up to its name, it has very beautiful graphics. I had the paid version and its functionality was spotty all along. With the latest software update on my Android Samsung Note 9, the weather widget stopped working completely, and I couldn't get it going again. Had to uninstall it completely and go with transparent clock and weekend, which is working perfectly

When the App first came out it worked perfectly it was my favorite App so I purchased the Pro version. However, for the last few years it will not keep the time. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several time and it just wouldn't keep the time. Every now and then I will reinstall it to see if the issues has been repaired but to date it is still not keeping time properly. Hopefully they will resolve the problem because it was a great App.

(*almost 7 months have passed and the problem still exists) Great, but...the clock has started freezing. The time will, inexplicably, stay the same, until the app is restarted. I love the animations and the overall look. But, with the clock freezing up, I've had to look for a different app.

STAY AWAY UNTIL THEY FIX ISSUES! This app was so promising! The widgets are really useful and have been using their various clock widgets over time. This would be 5 stars but the time freezes constantly!! I have the samsung s10 so I feel that it can't be the speed of my device causing the issue. Reading through several reviews, I can see that this is a common issue due to lack of updates. If I could I'd definitely demand a refund just like the others have said.

Worked so well for so many years. It doesn't appear to be updated anymore and is no longer compatible with the current Android version. It was my go to app on every phone for the last 5 years. I hope they decide to keep going. But if not and the "last update" still says 2016, don't waste your money purchasing the app. It glitches out now.

Just got a S10+. Now, clock will not update. If I open up the app, it updates but only for 1 minute. I suspect this has to do with Samsung's new power management routines. Time in notification area at top is always right. Please fix .. Not having the widget clock working is a deal breaker. I have pro version. Used for years, and loved it. Before this problem

Okay, so like many recent reviewers I was upset about the app no longer updating time, weather, etc on Android 9. I've been using this app for years and it's worked well even though the developers seem to have abandoned it, so I was sad at the prospect of having to find an alternative. However, I happened to see a very helpful review by Marke McCracken with detailed instructions on how to fix it. Since that review will probably get buried and it's relevant for any of us who like BW enough to keep using it with a bypass, I figured I'd a) second that it worked for me on a Moto G7 Power with Android 9, and b) duplicate the info. Basically we have to disable battery optimization for the app. On my phone, this meant: "Settings" -> "Apps and notifications" -> "Advanced" -> "Special App Access" -> "Battery Optimization" -> change dropdown to "All", scroll to Beautiful Widgets, tap and select "Don't Optimize." Depending on your phone battery, this might or might not be a good idea, but it'll allow the app to update. If you haven't bought it yet, I'm not sure I can recommend it, since you'll have to use a workaround and there are other widget apps. However, if you start using it and get it configured the way you like, it's a great app and I've ended up liking it enough to use the workaround.

I too morn the loss of this great app to Android 11 and/or Samsung UI3. Yes, I can deal wth only having AccuWeather as a provider, and can modify the battery optimizations to get the clock to keep time, but not having the ability to use the non-default widgets is the worst part. Would I like to know is if it's Android 11 breaking it or Samsung UI3? I noticed that a Pixel user (assume Android 11) seems not to have any issues. Anyway, let's hope there is a fix in the future or a reincarnation!

Used to love this app. There was basically no limit to customizing it for the time and weather, my home screen always looked new and fun, but no more. The app no longer changes the time, and it freezes constantly on the download clock themes page. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not, but it did appear to get that way right after my Note 8 done it's last update. Emailed customer support on this, have not received their response for the problem or a fix.

I have purchased this app a while ago. My phone upgraded to Android Version 10. Since the upgrade the time does stay current. All other functions seem to work fine. Please fix the time. It does not sync and stay up to date. I quit using this app. I really love this app and would like to use it again. Please fix the time sync issue. - Long term BW Pro User

The update doesn't work correctly on the S10. The clock widget gets stuck on a time. I have to constantly remove it and set it up - multiple times per day. I didn't have this issue with my Galaxy S8+, but this is just aggravating - especially considering I paid for the pro version. I won't be using it until a fix comes out.

This app is still great after many years of use! To all who are complaining about clock syncing issues, this is not an app issue, but an Android Pie issue. Pie has added aggressive battery savings that wants to put all background apps to sleep. Go to your battery settings and remove this app from the apps to be put to sleep and the clock will stay synced.

This was the first app I installed on my first Android phone, a DroidX running Eclair. It's been on every phone I've had since. Unfortunately it has stopped displaying the clock, the shortcut works, and the other info is displayed, but just a big hole where the time should be. Still giving it 5 stars for all the years of great service, but I think it's time to move on.

The time widget was not syncing with the current time since my phone, Galaxy S9+, updated to Pie 9.0. Until this system update this app worked just fine. My current app version is 5.7.6. After having to drill deeply into the phone settings, I was able to locate the area to "Optimize Battery Usage". For me, this was not easily located. "Settings" - "Apps" - "Beautiful Widgets" - "Battery" - "Optimize Battery Usage" - change the drop-down from "Apps not optimized" to "All" - scroll down to Beautiful Widgets and change the setting. The toggles for these settings needs to be moved to the left to deselect the setting making it white instead of blue. After that you can close the panel and the time should update normally. After a little more experimenting, If you are using the app "Gesture Search" you can find "Optimize Battery Usage" by using that. This is something that should be addressed by the developer to spread the word on how to make their app work as expected without having to go through so many steps to make it work. If that can happen I would be glad to raise my star value.

Replaced with Transparent Weather and Time App. My wife and I have had BW installed on both of our phones since the original Droid incredible. Now, for the first time, it doesn't work properly. Like others have said, the clock doesn't display properly if you try to change any of the attributes. This leaves you the clunky default view, and it's just not very attractive. I don't know what happened to the developers, but I hope they're still out there, and decide to do an update.

People, the problem with the clock/weather not updating is not the developer's fault; it's because Android Pie's new power saving settings. Change this on your settings menu and either turn it off or add BW as an exception. The system is putting the app to sleep so it doesn't update anymore as it is not "being used". This is happening because the system identifies this app as a "power drain" so it puts it to sleep by default.

Have used this widget for a solid 9+ years across 12+ devices with no issues..... until one tiny glitch right now. Galaxy Note 8 running latest OS. when setting an alarm, the displayed alarm time is 5 minutes off on the widget. Super random and just happened with this latest OS update. haven't tested it on my other devices but use this one for my alarm so it's the one I noticed. hoping for a fix!

This use to be my favorite app. I started with the free version. And quickly upgraded and convinced everyone in my family to get it also. This was back many years ago... As of about maybe a year now I've uninstalled twice hoping its had an update but nothing. The time is never in sync rendering this app useless. It's currently 8am but splayed across my screen it says 3am. Gone threw all the settings and nothing. Makes me very sad they let such a great app go.
