Overall great concept and lightning fast support. The app helps to stay motivated and reach your goals even in times of Corona lockdowns. It comes with a widget as well, so you can always see whether you're in green zone or about to derail. When my app stopped working and I contacted support about two days ago, the responded immediately. One and a half day later they fixed the bug and everything is working again. Definitely worth a recommendation!
Update: Working widget is weirdly wonderful! The "start at boot issue" still exists, but is slightly masked by not actually taking modal focus. The app still starts an interactive session on boot, but backgrounds itself - so it still shows up on the active apps pane, even though it was not started by the user. Surely the intent was simply to start a service for notifications?
Thanks to Beeminder, I succeeded in impressing my in-laws with my progess in speaking Spanish! Before Beeminder's 'commitment with a sting,' breaking my Duolingo streak would mean weeks passed before I restarted lessons. Since I enabled the automatic data sync three years ago, I finished the entire Spanish lesson list. The app provides easy notification of the progress required to meet my goals, as well as easy data entry. I love the widget it provides for checking goals at-a-glance!
I love beeminder - it is brilliant at nudging me into doing the right things, and the things I want to do in my life, even when I don't want to do them! The plan is simple: you promise to pay a certain amount if you don't live up to your commitments. It works really well for me, and this app (especially the widgets for individual tasks you have committed to) work really well. A life/organizer/habit fixer. Great stuff!
Love it! Make sure you create a new password on the site's account settings if you signed up through Google elsewhere. It took me a minute to deal with something causing so many bad reviews. Look forward to rocking my Fitbit, Toggle, and Todoist goals with this fantastic motivator.
I feel like all of the other reviews aren't too descriptive, or at least aren't making this service look good, but don't let them mislead you. This is a great idea and the implementation is nice due to the immense integration and API support. UI is a bit meh, beeminder might want to get a revamp someday, also, no Google login support isn't the best, but overall nice app. And you can't really expect much, they only have like 7 people on their team.
Heya my Dev friends, Goals don't load even after refreshing. I signed in with email on my desktop, created 2 goals, then I installed the app and logged in. Refreshed app and noticed that the goals aren't being loaded. Submitted feedback on app as per request earlier. Thanks alot for the quick response! Update 4/9 2300 EST - works now. Thanks alot for the quick response. You all are awesome.
Make sure I workout everyday even though I'm tired from work, forces me to sit down and get the tedious things done. What else can you ask for... oh yes, the programmers are super responsive and help with the app. It's great.
I've been using Beeminder for years now. It's a great service and the Android app is good and keeps improving. Their customer support is also awesome. If you have problems it's really easy to get help.
Beeminder is a super powerful tool for making progress on things I otherwise would ignore. I currently use it to ensure I get my exercise in, read, go to bed on time, help my wife around the house, stay in communication with my contracting clients, clean out my inboxes, improve my productivity systems, and so much more. If you have projects or life changes you haven't felt like you've had the leverage to make happen, you owe it to yourself to try this service.
Good customization options, and great customer service. I found a bug after installing it, emailed support, and they replied and fixed it in less than a day!
Ignore the 1 star reviews. The beeminder team is very helpful and responsive, and the app is functional. The concept itself really works.
Awesome folks behind this app, very flexible way for enforcing your own high standards of your better self, on to yourself when you might not be as good. Keep up the good work, great support from the team recently.
No way to enforce a goal and multiple bugs described to me as "features". The auto generated data from Strava you can go in and manually change it to 9999. When you set a milestone PER DAY ...like run 1 mile a day...it's not per day. You run 5 miles today, then for 5 days you don't need to do squat. IT'S SUCH A PITTY...I'D BE WILLING TO PAY MONEY IF THIS WOULD WORK
Great concept, but please hire a front dev to redesign the interface. I assume functionality is your main concern but the app looks so outdated for something actively worked on it's painful.
App doesnt allow be to sign up, it was quick to accept my Card details though. If I could sign up and use the app I will be able to give proper feedback.
Not the prettiest app I've ever seen, but it does the job. Far superior experience than trying to use the website on my phone. (I'm an idiot)
Why would the web platform allow sign up/in with Google while the app does not? I can't access my account. Please incorporate this so i can give a fair rating. Edit: see you removed it almost a year ago to fix it, surely it should be done by now?
I am happy that it can make you take action on your goals. I noticed it charging on my completed goals, and the support team very quickly responded. Big thanks for that.
Genuinely life-changing, cannot thank the entire team enough for creating and maintaining this app. Also, everything is extremely above board, so they have my trust!
Easy to use. Great reminder. Effective tool to help with procrastination and focus.
without beeminder, I would be a worse person. This app and website have helped me pass professional exams, eat healthier, hike 1200 miles, practice regularly, drink enough water, floss, lose weight, work out... It's incredible.
Nice app and the idea is great, but a good amount of functionality is only available in the web version.
Not into this whole "commitwall" thing where you give your credit card details first. Opened the app, clicked "more", read the blog post, immediately uninstalled. I really don't want to get stuck on a platform I am not even sure I will like
Can't log in with Google. I created an account on the computer using my Google account. The app only has Twitter and Fb login options so I can't log in to use the app.
I love beeminder and it is really helping me reach my goals, but the app could use some improvements. The design could be better and it is hard to scroll to find the goal I am looking for (I do have around 25 goals right now.) In the end I mostly use the website on my desktop to check on my goals. The reminders work great though and I mostly use the app for that.
