Beginner Yiddish

Beginner Yiddish is a simple and direct Yiddish language learning app meant as an introduction to beginners and enthusiasts.

Based on the 'a word a day' concept, this app provides up to 12 words a day of your choosing.

All words 'learnt' are tested repeatedly thereafter, on a basis of decreasing regularity, if answered correctly, as you gain familiarity with the said word. Vice versa, if incorrectly answered, the app will adjust to test you more on the word, or 'deactivate' it, while you learn other words meanwhile.

Pace yourself as you go through the almost a thousand common and popular Yiddish words available in the app. In just a matter of weeks, you will have an essential knowledge of the Yiddish vocabulary !

This app dose NOT speak the words AT ALL. This is not an app for true beginners.

Great app - assumes you know alef-beyz (update, 5 mos. later): I STILL love this app! Re: all these negative reviews, it's important to understand what this app is and what it is not: it's a basic, extremely easy to use Yiddish vocab builder. It's NOT designed to be a standalone instructional manual to the Yiddish language. There are no grammar lessons, no pronunciation guides, etc... BUT as a simple vocab builder to those studying Yiddish, it is VERY useful, and an extremely easy way to stay motivated (when Weinreich is driving you crazy), and to be able to practice / expand your Yiddish while sitting on the bus/waiting in line/etc.
