Berichtenbox
You link the app once with your DigiD to your MijnOverheid account and create a personal pin code. Opens the app to read your post.
With the app you have access to the inbox, archive and trash can of your Message box on MijnOverheid. You can read and move messages to the archive or trash. If a message has an attachment, you can forward, save or open it in another app.
Currently it is not yet possible to adjust your preferences for organizations that send mail to you digitally. You can log in on the website of mijn.overheid.nl.
DATA PROCESSING & PRIVACY
The Message Box app from MyGovernment processes the IP address, the name and version of the operating system of your mobile or tablet, the unique feature of the mobile device and the 5-digit PIN code you choose.
By using the Message box app you agree to this processing, which also applies to the following provisions.
The personal data of the user are processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and the privacy statement on the website of MijnOverheid (https://www.mijn.overheid.nl/privacy). Rules on the processing of personal data by MijnOverheid are included in the Decree on the processing of personal data generic digital infrastructure. Rules on the operation, security and reliability of MijnOverheid are included in the GDI provisions (https://mijn.overheid.nl/wet-en-regelgeving).
MijnOverheid (part of Logius) has taken appropriate technical and organizational security measures against loss or unlawful processing of the personal data of the user.
The Message Box app complies with security measures that are comparable with the security measures of the MijnOverheid website. The Message box app also uses the security mechanisms of the operating system.
The user is responsible for the security of his mobile device.
For the Message Box app, updates can be downloaded and installed via the app store from time to time. These updates are intended to improve, expand or further develop the Message Box app and can consist of solutions for program errors, advanced functions, new software modules or completely new versions. Without these updates, the Message Box app may not function or function properly.
MijnOverheid (part of Logius) reserves the right to (temporarily) stop the offering of the Messagebox app in the app store without stating reasons or to block the functioning of the Messagebox app.

Can't login anymore on Android 12. If there is *any* other app open in the recents (multitasking) menu except for this app or DigiD, that app is opened split screen with DigiD. Entering the pin to login then closes the split screen apps to whatever screen launched the berichtenbox app. If there are no other apps in recents, you just get an infinite loading screen in this app after tapping 'login'.
In general, I like the idea and find the app relatively easy to use. I am missing a feature to tag messages e.g. "todo" and "processed". Also, it looks like the app always shows the content from a remote server, it does not download it. It already caused troubles once when I couldn't see the message, the notification of which already was showing up in my smartphone.
Repeatedly complains that I cannot login because of a server error with the server that manages pincodes. Has been like this for almost a week. I cannot get in to see the message that has been sent to me. It may be something quite important. No offline help available for problems such as these. I tried hitting retry over and over... after a dozen times it worked. Then the app gave a different error and crashed. It put up a message saying "Laden..." and stayed like that for half an hour.
It's great to receive government mail digitally. My biggest complaint is that the app is so slow. Issues: - The app freezes when you leave the "add organization" screen without saving. - Scrolling through the "add organizations" screen also selects the organizations. Features I'd like to see: - Delete/archive multiple messages (by press and holding a message and then selecting) - View which organizations you have selected to receive digital mail from (instead of on the website).
Whenever the government wants me to pay for something it's in a PDF file which the app doesn't let you copy text from properly (the built-in PDF reader does support selecting and copying, but often hitting copy will copy random nonsense to the clipboard). It's a huge chore to get anything done. Not completely the app's fault the users sending messages use PDFs instead of just putting things in the message itself but the end result is the same: everything is a chore
Doesn't work on pixel 6, when trying to login with DigID it opens on split screen and then it crashes.
Cannot activate the Berichtenbox on new Phone, after DIGID procedure follows an error, please advice, Phone Samsung S22 with Android 12
Requires DigiD to log in... Cool but it also opens the DigiD app and closes itself so when i login through DigiD, this app is already closed so basically it is impossible for me to login
I cannot login to my account. It fails after digid is completely successfully. I have Google Pixel 6 running on Android 12
Used to work, but now it's flawed in too many ways. DigiD works, but app stays on 3/4 screen. One wrong move and Im logged off. Also the screen of newly added companies stays empty. Though it tells you that there are new ones. Update 06/10/2020: Still not working; empty screens, weird images and crashes.
Never got problems in the past but now it has a bug which causes the app to get stuck in a loop. On my android the digiD app causes a "split screen" view on its own after confirming inlog details, Berichtenbox than displays an error and redirecting you to login with digiD app again and again. To me it seems both apps causing errors which makes them now completely useless. Hope this'll get solved ASAP.
Since the last update -where you need DigiD- it is impossible to log in with some Android devices. You are redirected to download DigiD, which I already have and so I am stuck in the PlayStore telling me I already have this app. If I go back or restart berichteninbox this keeps happening. Reinstall berichteninbox: same thing happens, reinstall DigiD - which is a pain with all those checks- same thing. This is the primary communication method from the government to me and they broke it...
couldnt get it to work and seems extremely buggy? it constantly wants to switch to landscape mode but then switches back? which interfers with the app's forms etc.. also the forms dont seem to accept pasting, so forget about using a password manager. if only this worked remotely as well as the DigID app, I cant get this to work in this state as I refuse to type over a 30+ character randomly generated password from my PC's keepass vault. Please fix it!
The idea behind this app is really good. At this moment there is no jadded value when you read your email daily. Would only be useful when messages/letters are in the app. Now besides the tax office (that's how it should be), there is only a url to the website of the organization. That exactly as in my email therfore I don't need a extra app.
Used to work just fine, however since a few months I keep getting an error while trying to login. The error says that the app was unable to access the server to verify the pincode and that I should try to login later. Since I've been getting this error for months now I seriously doubt that this is a temporary error. No idea what causes it, as I'm connected to the internet.
No option to login with manual providing digid credentials. Digid app itself can't be activated as I don't have a drivers license with a certain new chip or something. I don't want to make an appointment at the local government to just read one new message in my inbox. #bureaucracy
Filling code from sms doesn't work, app crashes. When reloading you have to wait for 40 seconds until new code can't be sent, but there's no option to just manually enter the old code. Other than that, the app works okay.
It's a basic inbox for messages from the government. unfortunately there is no way to forward to the company that sends you the message, so it's for a reminder app then a useful inbox. Because of that a 3 star rating, needs lots of improvement on the UX.
Saves so much hassle - excellent! I am English but this app is easy to drive - but early days yet! Why do i get a snail mail from belasting dienst but there is nothing in my berichten box??? I thought this was meant to save paper!! 24 June 2021- this app is in deep trouble! Does not open the messages it is meant to any more. Muddled reaction!
Doesn't work at all. Opens up a dual-app view (o_O) and then exits.
[ ! ] For people unable to login using DigiD app: This is because on Android 12, apps no longer open unverified (deep)links by default. Go to "phone settings > apps > Berichtenbox > Open by default > Add link", and add the "mijn.overheid.nl" link. Now you should be able to login using the DigiD app again. Dear devs, please fix this. Does not work at all, keeps crashing poor effort
What is the point of this app when I cannot log in for months. Getting "fout server controleren pincode" for more than a month already. Also why do I have to type in my DigiD username and password, and why not just let me log in with the DigiD app that is on my phone already? Sorry, but the app is really frustrating and useless imho. Uninstalling.
Hoe krijg je het voor elkaar dat een simpele berichtenapp zo traag is. Update, if possible please further lower the score I give this app. Now you can't even login without an additional app that isn't required when viewing from the web browser, viewing from browser is also a lot faster. If I could give this app a negative rating it would be the full minus 5 stars
Gets stuck without any message, totally worthless.. Updated and problem fixed for now. Still very disappointing that the voorlopige aanslag is always incorrect, since it did not take into account last years extra aflossingen, as usual.
Broken app on my pixel 6 pro. When pressign login the DigiD app launches in split screen mode (God knows why). And after successfully entering credentials through DigiD the app closes and shows the app drawer. Opening the app again requires login in which puts me in an infinite loop.
