It is now 10/16/20, the software was corrected back in mid-May. Now I'm back having problems again. Can not open app. All I get is a blank screen. When are you getting to get your act together. I'm paying for this app and can not use it! App use to work well, but the update on Thursday, May 7th screwed the pooch. I can no longer sign in. My account is up-to-date and I can sign in using my tablet and the Berkshire Eagle website. So what happened?
This app stinks. The e-edition stopped loading after 1 month, it is difficult to navigate, and their support team doesn't care. Thought it would be a good alternative to all that newsprint, but it doesn't work.
At first i would have given a 5 stars but all the sudden one morning i go to read my BE app annd could not because SUDDENLY i was told i had to PAY for the digital edition.... Which is the BE app. I loved the app i mean 5 PLUS stars liked. You can favorite certain articles. I enjoyed the app immensly..... Until one earky morning i sit with my coffee and BOOM no more reading the morning E- Edition because i cannot pay the subscription monthly after that first $.99 They fail to let you in on that.
Latest update removed the option to lock in portrait or landscape which makes it difficult to read when phone is not in an upright position.
Confusing to get around to read it. Signed up for the 99 cent special on 7/15/20. On 8/11/20 they charged my credit card $13.00 to continue my subscription which I had no intention of keeping. On 8/12/20 I called the Eagle to cancel my renewal. They did and it ended my remaining days on my first month.
Works great on my Windows desktop. A bit problematic on my Android tablet, but tolerable. I probably would have given it 3.5 if I could have done so.
It's not easy to navigate, I see the short, notice a the First page, then you have to hunt and Peck to find the article that you wanted to read
I like the app but my problem is I am presently using it on a 7 inch tablet. It is difficult on such a small device.
The Eagle is a great local paper, and very informative. The online reprint of the paper is really helpful when I am out of town.
Intelligent, well-written, informative -- "Berkshire Eagle" is a great newspaper, and their app is wonderful. :)
Very easy to use across various phones, laptop, whatever is easy
Grateful for the free newspaper, via this Android app. But worried for your journalists, who need to get paid. I'm living and working in the Boston region now. But still own a home in Pittsfield, and continue to follow Berkshires news. - Lawrence Kelley

Periodically freezes or does not update to latest edition.
It's AWFUL! Nothing seems to work right and it's not at all easy to use.
Doesn't activate well. Cuts off in progress.
Not living in the Berkshires anymore, I can still keep up with what's going on there.....but more important than that is the obituary.
I am a monthly online and sometimes app does not recognize me and I have to register again

Love this app. I use it everyday. Its nice to read my hometown newspaper even though I live far away.
Happy to have it ... but very glitchy. I frequently need to scrap it and reload it to work properly !
I think it is important to have access to the local news and The Eagle offers this beautifully. The local writers are excellent and the selection of national correspondents is quite exceptional. Along with general excellence they are also responsive - I had trouble downloading the app and I got a very fast, useful response that solved the problem.
