BetBlocker is a free tool to help you control your gambling. Install it on as many devices as you like and you can block yourself from accessing over 5700 gambling websites. You can select how long you want to be blocked for.
- All users should be aware that once activated the app CANNOT be removed until your chosen exclusion period has been concluded. For testing purposes we would recommend that all users trial BetBlocker in 'Parental Control' mode where it can be disarmed via your chosen password to ensure it does what you need it to do before you activate a 'Gambling Self-Restriction' that locks the device for the selected duration.
- If you experience a technical issue please contact support either through the app, via the contact us form on our site or by emailing [email protected]. Remember to include your email address or we will not be able to respond to you.
- Users should be aware that our support sevice will NOT help you remove the app. If there is a technical issue we will look to provide a fix for this issue. We will NOT remove the block while our Development Team works on the issue.
- If you find a url that has not been restricted that should be restricted please use the in app 'Suggest a website to block' feature or contact us on [email protected]. When we add a site to the restricted list it will take 24 hours to reflect at the user's end and you will need to restart your device.
Please keep in mind when contacting support this is a good will service. We do not charge you for the app, we do not advertise anything to you and we do not gather or use your personal information in any way beyond offering support if you experience difficulties.
Users should also be aware that we will not disarm the app because "someone else installed this on my device" or because you tell us you are "selling my device". We have no reliable method of proving either of these claims and we have to prioritise minimising the risk of exposing a potentially vulnerable individual to gambling again.
While we understand it can be frustrating waiting for a technical issue to be resolved or where we refuse to decline to disarm the app at your request, many of our users have significant addictive tendencies connected with gambling. Removing the block has the potential to result in significant losses for an individual with these traits and would rely on those who may have had to reach a painful crossroads to install the service in the first instance having the willpower to reactivate it once the issue is resolved. Where you activate a Gambling Self-Restriction you are making a statement that you do not want to be allowed the choice to remove this restriction before the selected restriction period has concluded. You have agreed to this in our terms of service.
For the above reasons we will only ever disarm the app as a last possible resort, where we have fully researched your issue and concluded that we will not be able to offer a fix.
This app uses the Device Administrator permission. After activating admin, BetBlocker will block application uninstallation. Activating this admin app will allow to BetBlocker to perform to following operations:
1. Activate this device admin app.
2. Cancel
3. Uninstall app

When it works I can't find a way around it so perfect on that level. There seemed to be a glitch on my phone but this was resolved very quickly when you message HQ. Don't leave bad reviews if you haven't asked for tech support. It appears to be a small charity doing a great job to help gamblers and this should be applauded.
DO NOT INSTALL THIS APP! It stops your WiFi from working so you can only use your data. Another VPN will stop the app from blocking sites. Apparently there are other loopholes, if you read the reviews. If you really have a problem and want to stop, try any other app. This one is useless and will be stuck on your phone. It would be such a good app if it worked but it doesn't. Do not install.
Known issues for some Samsung users. Effectively disables any kind of downloading or streaming. Also very easy to access betting sites for the more tech savvy. Admin were helpful with the issue that has effected me for the last week, however once they disabled the app, I uninstalled it because of said issues, out of courtesy I emailed that I wouldn't be reinstalling, I was then accused of misrepresenting myself with a rather stern and unnecessary email. My advice is stay away from the hassle!
Ok initially, however easy to disable if tech savvy. Support was helpful when I first contacted them regarding this issue, but now they just ignore my emails! Update. Duncan has kindly tried to rectify the issue, however it seems to be a software issue with my phone . Thank you for your help
This app is the only thing that has slowed me down . TV advertising is using bingo as a step towards other main sites. Sport is advertising it at every turn. The systems track down your preference and give it to other gambling companies. All this is taxed offshore. The national lottery is a massive leech on society. The NHS ought to run it. I have been experimenting since January and have controlled it successfully with your help and my partner talking it through. But it's not over.
This app was great at first. As a compulsive gambler you will do anything to get to those sites. I've found a very easy way to disable & remove the App. I informed betbocker.... However if you aren't like me, always on a challenge or you're not very techy you won't discover this! Otherwise a great FREE app which is actually trying to help us gamblers, not make money out of us. Manage to find a way it CAN'T be removed, I'll change it to 5⭐
I've never reviewed or rated any software in my life, but now I have to. First I tought i downloaded some kind of malware or virus app, I couldn't remove it and it didn't block any sites, i contacted support if they could remove it for me but instead they worked out the problem in a few days. Now it works fine, but I actually found a site that weren't blocked I reported this right away and will check it tomorrow if they added it to their list.
Once downloaded you cannot remove at all. App denies you access and does not show within your phones settings, It states that you have to wait until period is up to remove, well this was days ago and no way of removal !!! Really annoying and I do not want it on my phone !!!
Excellent App - I licturally just tried my hardest to get around the block. Tried forcestop, uninstalling, disabling admin, force activating another vpn and it still denied access. It told me off when i was trying to tamper with the VPN too lol. In the end i gave up. Successful tool for my issues!
it does work but you may have to switch off your phone for the changes to take effect. I want to say thanks to the app developer for this app as it gives compulsive gamblers a chance to self exclude from all known gambling sites. This alone won't stop gambling though and if anyone out there is struggling there are places that can aid like gamblers anonymous. Thank you immensely
does not block access to sites. I installed it, set up the VPN then restarted the app. went straight into a betting site. tried to delete the app and it won't let me. I am very suspicious now. update... have managed to delete it now. I would avoid.
This app is preventing me from accessing my phone. On phone boot up it goes to a white screened betblocker app and overlays every and any app I try to use, and even when not using any app. Extremely inconvenient.
this app is a con. once permission is granted you can't remove it, which would be fine if it actually blocked the sites. which it doesn't. this then leaves question as to why the app owners are forcing administrator access to your advice when they aren't even blocking the advertised sites. I have emailed and am awaiting a response!
Awful, it breaks everything in my phone, disconnecting my wifi, cutting off data...half of the apps I couldn't use them...then i realized what tas the problem and i delete the vpn profile...everything back to normal. Can you please deactivate it so i can delete it completely
This app is a lifesaver literally.. I have been having a gambling problem for a long time, and I have try every method possible but nothing works, I always end up back gambling.. this is the first app that has worked for me thank you!!
Downloaded 30 minutes ago, I have been testing it. I have to say it certainly does stop all the gambling sites from loading in a way, if the site is loaded then the app stops the games from loading definitely. I am impressed, thank you :)
It works for stopping betting but I'm now unable to send emails and access any kind of website with an age restriction on it. I would like to uninstall but can't send email to request this.
So far it's good. Wont let me access any gambling sites....which is good!. The only downside was that i somehow clicked on something on Google search and it turned it all to another language. It works so far though.
So far so good. Had signed up to Gamcare and Gamstop but it didn't work for me. Too easy to sign up to new bookies by altering your details slightly. So far with this any apps or sites I've just tried to visit have instantly blocked me. Hopefully this stays this way, as my gambling is starting to get out of control
Really really good app. I use it on my children's phones so they cant see any material that's 18+. Little bit of peace of mind when they are on the internet. Good for gambling websites too. I've not been able find a way to get around it. Brilliant.
this is the shittest app you will ever install. does absolutely nothing other than constantly annoy you with useless notifications and inability to delete it. its stuck on my phone now. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!!
Iv tried gamblock after a gambling problem when iv had a drink.. but could always find site to get in. I put this app on my phone and to test, I spent few hours trying to find a gambling site, to no avail. This app will save me lots of annoyed hungover skint mornings. And it's free. So happy thank you so much.
Im personally 3 and a half years free from gambling but always keen to try out new blocks and i have to say this is by far the best available, firstly its free and the charities understanding of gambling as an addiction makes it so, secondly the VPN can't be bypassed like i managed with gamban, i am a android user and your experinece may differ due to hardware/software differences, but under my testing, this is the one i was hoping for back in the day.. Download and take it 1 day at a time. :)
I was not able to uninstall it on my android. However, I did manage to uninstall it after downloading apk manager. Took me quite a while. Not able to comment on the gambling block though as I didnt really download it for such purpose.
this app is totally useless for someone that knows how to use a phone... few simple changes and everything can be accessed.. also slowed my phone down to nearly a stop.
great app. I've been gamblng for years always thought I will be ok. even used gamstop and still found sites to go on then found this app and so I can't go on any single gambling website even the ones not covered by gamstop. thank you guys look forward to the next year gambling free ❤❤
Great app if your a gambling addict !! Which I'm not !!, was put on my phone by my girlfriend when she was drunk !! 😂 and caused all sorts of problems like slowing my phone and internet down, says you cannot remove for 5 years, removed in 5 mins 👌🏻😁 Thanks for your response Graham but maybe you shouldn't be so presumptuous in your comments, I've noticed your a very unhelpful gentleman in a lot of the negative reviews of your obviously very useful app 👍🏻
terrible!!! just contstanly crashes my phone! all i keep getting is a blank screen with a spinning circle in the middle! have emailed but had no reply!!! I want this rubbish off my device!!!
FREEE THANK YOU SO MUCH From all problem gamblers we thank you it's about time someone helped. Had another gambling software on my phone and it was a nightmare with glitches cause u used there web browser this is so much better u can use Chrome and google I wish u were around 10k sooner lol
I have periods where I try and delete the app, and it does exactly what its designed to do and doesn't let me give in to my urges! It's very well designed and useful. Saved me £100's in just a couple of weeks. Couldn't recommend enough to anyone having a hard time controlling their gambling habits. Just started the blocker for another run however it's messing with my mobile data and now I can't load any videos.
