App is very slow to connect to the light (~5 sec). App will not connect to the light when the alarm is active, this shows an error message. Sometimes the app opens by itself when the device's Bluetooth signal is again in range. There is no way to disable sound output for the alarm (although this may be a limitation of the device). Device 4/10, app 3/10
It would be very helpful if the minimum sound level in the alarm was actually zero, so I could have just the light waking me up. The thing is that me and my partner wake up at different times. She wakes up later and it is easier not to wake up when my alarm goes off because she can hear that the tune is different from the tune of her alarm.
The app finds our TL100 no problem and has full functionality, but when we reopen the app it crashes/closes while trying to reconnect to the lamp. The only way to fix it is to delete the lamp before closing the app or clear the app data (so it resets the app) every time I want to remote control it or use any of the mood settings. Not a good experience for a lamp that cost so much. Samsung S9 UK
Good idea with nice features (wakeup,colors,...), but annoying and maybe risky even 🤷 - Connects to WL-75 without any interaction at the lamp (= zero security; you could mess with your neighbors' devices at the least, but I guess smarter people than me could gain access to their phones via that path too) - Random popups on phone when connection fails, even when the app is not supposed to be in the foreground I only install it to set the time and then uninstall it, because I find it so annoying.
The app is performing what it it is claimimg to do. There is a problem with connectivity over bluetooth mentioned more than once in reviews. After using WL90 physical device for few months I can confirm the issue exists but has a rather easy workaround. When failing to connect over bluetooth just remove the power of physical device for few seconds and after powering on again the device communicates with the app over bluetooth again without an issue for few days.
Mostly does what's it supposed to to. Some caveats: Only 2 alarm times, can't connect while an alarm is beeping. The biggest issue: the app randomly opens itself and interrupts whatever you're doing at the moment when the clock is in bluetooth range, it's really annoying.
The App does it's job (most of the time) but could do with some redesign and added functions, there have been no effective updates for years. Id like to be able to choose how long the radio alarm was on for. Would also like to choose a light only alarm (no sound)
Contrived. Slow to initialize due to fancy graphical effects. Please streamline to launch rapidly. Also, sliders for the timer are inaccurate. Please allow for numerical input. Other than that, it's okay.
Love the clock. But the app disconnects every morning when the alarm goes off. I can't reconnect the Bluetooth to turn the alarm off on the phone, so I have to unplug the clock the replug it to turn the alarm off and THEN the app will connect. That's a problem
Eh, it's okay and does the bare minimum. Using it with the tl100. The settings are extremely basic. The least that could have been added was a semi alarm function that simply turns on the lamp at a certain time.
Unreliable app which sometimes can't even find the lamp that's 50cm from my phone. The app reopens itself spontaneously when my phone is near the lamp, it's happened 7 times whilst I wrote this. Pretty poor app design generally but I can't write more as the app has opened itself 2 more times. Infuriating.
Pairing WakeUpLight WL90 was not easy. I first installed the LightUp-App and then tried to pair. It was not possible and the phone even refused any other pairing. So I uninstalled LightUp. Paired the WL90 manually in the phones Bluetooth-Menu, reinstalled the LightUp-App and the searched for the WL90. It was then recognised and accepted instantly. After the hassle with pairing and installation the App works fine.
Doesn't work completely. The sunrise part of the app doesn't work, failing every time to connect. The regular light is the only part that works but the sun rise and sun set part are what is most important and THEY DO NOT WORK.
Generally a gopd experience but not being able to play music through the Bluetooth is highly frustrating. Why have Bluetooth but no ability to play music through it via my phone. Really odd.
Too many clicks! It's capable of doing what it's supposed to. I use it for the brightlight and the wake-up light. But it takes way too many clicks to get anything done. Please improve, this is the start of a great thing!
App has no problems with Samsung S8. Recently bought a Motorola Power and no problems. When I first bought Light Up nearly 2 years ago there were issues connecting with S8, I emailed Beurer and in a few days the app was upgraded and working. Love this product.
It does what it says. I have not experienced any bugs. But this app could easily have a "wake up" functionality - add an alarm clock into my TL100 brightlight and turn on the lamp slowly to simulate a sunrise.
App works with WL90 sunrise lamp and bedroom speaker ☀️ NEEDS 3 IMPROVEMENTS 1) Bluetooth works barely. * Clock freezes if I reconnect bluetooth using the physical button; unplug to fix. * Connects in app without appearing in my phones connected devices; confusing. 2) Sunrise works barely. * App sunrise timer is confusing. Does it A set time to start illuminate before alarm or B set how long to illuminate after alarm? Turns out it's A. 3) Please allow phone music as the alarm 🥺
So I just spent far too much money on the TL100 model for the sole reason I wanted to connect it to the app and use coloured lights, just to find out that beurer hired incompetent high school students to design their app, and it's impossible to actually connect to the lamp. I suggest you fix this REAL QUICK
The app is fine, but it's the product it controls that I'm really impressed with. I have a Beurer SAD lamp which is also a mood lamp, both functions are excellent and the app controls them perfectly.
Most annoying thing is that it keeps popping up on my phone unbidden. Some features I'd like to see are absent, e.g. to wake up to light with no sound at all.
After closing, brings itself to the foreground randomly (in fact it just did while I was writing the next sentence). No option to turn off alarm sound completely.
NO SILENT ALARM!! Basic features not included. Cannot switch off 2nd alarm. I would like to only have the light go on without any sound, but that's impossible. Beurer says a silent alarm is not possible at the moment -I emailed them. I would like to have separate sound and light settings such that the light goes on from 05:00-06:00 and the sound only goes on from 05:55-06:00 or not at all. So far this light has only been a frustration due to the App. I think I'm returning it.
