I have used this app for years. This last update is terrible. I was way happy with the last version but now I am looking for something else
And loving the tablet version. The UI is not the prettiest any maybe confusing at first. And it takes some digging in the menus to set up properly. It's more complicated to use than other podcast players but once you know how to use it, it works better than anything else available. It can't be beat. The people complaining obviously haven't figured out how to use it yet. It's worked flawless for me for over 4 years on several different devices. I have about 300 feeds organized in catagories. Can play videos in external players, with the screen off, bluetooth stream, etc. I've bought 2 other podcast players that look prettier but do not have as much functionality. For video podcasts I use an external feature rich player such as mxplayer or viral player that can float in the background.
The tablet version is very buggy and developer do not fix any bugs on the tablet. The fix rotation is not working. The notification is stuck when there is nothing on your play list and you can not close it. It downloads some podcast episode multiple time even after you have watched them.
Works fine no issues, the RSS feed on Google have stopped you will need a Google reader. Mixcloud you need a rss generator. All in all great app well done BeyondPod
Pity, Too pricey compared with free apps available out there Will be optimal with $1.99
Am deleting this ap, it fails to play the entire podcast on a regular basis plus it just has a user unfriendly interface.
After i downloaded this app and tried to access the podcast, it failed because of insufficient storage. However, I'm certain that I have avaliable both device and SD storage. Fix it. I bought the unlocked key alerady.
Great great app. Best I've seen. Now that is out of the way: the recent release broke all integration paths to Sonos. You can longer put the podcasts in .../Podcasts without a Beyondpod postfix, and Macronos integration stopped working. Boo.
Bare bones functionality. Nothing like what I had with Downcast on the iPad. But I guess this reflects the capabilities of android coders.
I don't know about most other people but I find that the menus are a little confusing to use. Too many options with no real layout. Everything works fine but I wouldn't mind having some kind of sidebar to organize everything.
I've used this app daily for over 2 years with no issues at all. This has been one of my most reliable apps. I used the trial for over a year, but decided to pay for the upgrade just because of how well Beyond pod worked for me. I've tried others on both Apple and Android, none performed as well as this one has. Yes, I recommend this app highly.
I love this podcast catcher and player. It's easy to use and easy to setup the way you want it to work. I use it both on the phone and my tablet.
Beyond pod works fine on my phone and has worked fine on my tablet. But all of the sudden it's been crashing as soon as I open it
The tablet UI compliments the content and makes full use of the display. Other than that BeyondPod is the known and loved podcast manager we love. I don't get it though why the phone and tablet versions are two different apps. Who knows?
Love it, does everything I need it makes the management of my podcasts so simple and has all the options I look for.
Every podcast I try to stream to my chromecast stops after 3-5 minutes due to "audio playback error"
"Playback error" on screen. Both streaming and downloaded ones.
But I wish they'd update the tablet version with material design. Going back and forth between phone and tablet is driving me crazy right now.
Have to reduce to 3 star because other podcast apps like Podcast Republic alow multiple updates with free version unlike beyond podcast.
It otherwise seems to be a decent feed aggregator, but every time I try to send an audio feed to my Chromecast I get "Playback Error!" It plays fine on my device when I disconnect from the Chromecast.
I had a 5* review here but since I had problems I wrote to support and they've not bothered to respond at all which isn't very good especially since I am a paying customer
I can easily sort episodes and hide old episodes that I've heard, all nice and simple. I like this app
You've got the feature set. Please now focus on simplifying the ui. It's become way too cluttered and has way too much small print and truncation. Imagine you are building a version for the visually impaired. That might get you in the frame of mind to address what people are complaining about so much. I'm a paid user of many years, by the way. The feature set is what has kept me around in spite of increased frustration with how the functions I use most go deeper and deeper in the complex ui.
