BeyondPod Podcast Manager

I love you Dude, but you gotta go. Have had the Pro version for several years. Did just what I wanted, but the last year has been getting buggier and buggier. Android Galaxy 9 phone, usually bluetooth connection to the car. Stops in the middle of podcasts, (mute) often every 5 minutes. Seems to be bluetooth related, didn't do it while on headphones. Often will not play sequential podcasts on list, even from same producer. Would buy an updated subscription if you fix the bugs.

I've used Beyond Podcast for around 5 years and I've bought the premium unlock. In the last few months podcasts have started to just stop at the end of the current episode at random. I'm also getting repeated download failures on multiple feeds, it started with one or two failures, but now it's essentially every podcast. Lastly it has started randomly forgetting which episode I've listened to already. I sincerely hope the team will fix the application, but I'm not hopeful given other reviews.

I don't know what you've been doing to the program but recently: - the program stops after many episodes instead of going to the next. (I just checked my settings again and that is not the problem.) - I keep having this truly weird effect where the sound stops the resumes despite the play button indicating it is not. If I then hit the play button I find myself with the podcast on two nonsynchronous playbacks. T he only way to fix this is to restart my phone.

I have premium version of this this app for around a decade. Over 4 phones from 3 different manufacturers, the main issue of playback dropout over Bluetooth remains. Often can't get through a 30 minute podcast without erroneously stopping. Also, I have multiple notifications showing (up to 3), beginning immediately after the update to resolve excess notifications, which I never had before. Why I continue to use this app with significant issues, I don't know. It drives me crazy every other day.

BeyondPod's Smart Playlist simply places it above other podcast apps. The ability to create a single playlist of all your subscriptions with a single action is great! Minor request, would be great to tag in subscriptions for the smart list auto-update, and an option to stack the list with alternating podcasts rather than having them clustered would be excellent, but otherwise, great app.

Used to work just fine, but has become "Buggy" in recent months as others have recently reported. It is now unresponsive after the Feb 2022 Android security patch. I guess it's now abandoned as there have been no updates since early 2021. Sadly, time to find a new podcatcher. Edit: I suspect it's gone really bad because I send downloads to my SD and Android permissions model has changed... Without updates to the App. Android 6 devices seem OK.

Update now completely useless with Google home as well it stopped playing the next podcast when the previous ends. Time to move on to a new app. Used to to be a premiere app that had gone to pot. When continuing a playlist it tries the next podcast and then deletes before moving on to the next so if I am not paying attention I miss half my podcasts which I have to download again. Also the Chromecast functionality is garbage as it disconnects all the time.

Getting worse by the day. I have been listening to podcasts for 16 years, and this was probably the best app. So much so that I bought the pro version. Ever since, it has been a downward spiral. I try to keep my loyalty, but it gets harder and harder. Bugs, stops, counter intuitive interfaces. How can an app always change for the worse?

I love this ap to hold all my podcasts, and I have the premium version. I have had it for 8 years or so, but in the last month, it keeps stopping every 10 to 20 seconds while playing. I continually have to restart the podcast. I may have to look for a new podcast player.

I have the full paid version, and there are some good things about this app, but there are also bad things. It is good at organizing podcasts and setting up playlists of what to play, and play next. That is good. However, no matter how I change the settings, the play buttons on my various headphones/speakers/car stereos, don't work. I can pause it but I cannot restart it. Also randomly it will pause on it's own, and again I have to unlock my phone and hit play to restart it. Also, there is a Chromecast function that simply does not work. I have tried it several times and audio fails to play, regardless of settings.

I was a faithful user of this app for over 10 years, but I finally gave it up. BeyondPod just hasn't been keeping up. Casting to Chromecast and other devices doesn't work, many of the downloaded episodes don't show time durations, and it's extremely temperamental with Android Auto. I'm sad to be leaving because I got a lot of great service from this app. Thanks to the developers for those years of enjoyment. However, I can't put up with the bugs anymore, so I've switched to AntennaPod.

I've been using BeyondPod as a paid user for something like 8 years. I have nothing bad to say about the app itself, the interface and useablility is absolutely fantastic. The one deal-breaking fatal flaw is that it CONSISTENTLY fails to connect to Bluetooth, and since my phone doesn't have a headphone jack, I'm left with an inability to use the app for its intended purpose. Same goes for audio casting. I do not have these issues with any other media apps. Wish it worked, but it just doesn't.

I have used this app for years. It has a great feature set. It's also very easy to use and has a good UI. That being said, the quality has gone downhill. The backup and restore feature flat-out does not work. The option to sync episodes between phones also does not work. The app itself has become very crashy especially when checking for new episodes. It's unfortunate, but the day has finally come to uninstall and move on. I purchased the unlock key for BeyondPod 6 years ago and have used it nearly every day since. It used to be great, but is clearly no longer being supported (last update was over 1 year ago). Now BeyondPod suffers from buggy behavior (sometimes crashes or doesn't launch). I have tolerated the buggy behavior for quite a while, but now it's time to find an alternative.

This used to be the best podcast app there was. I've been using the paid version for over 6 years and recommended it to everyone. For the past 3 months it's been impossible to use due to buggy updates. It crashes all the time, refuses to resume playing when I pause, gets stuck in the notification tab and has to be force closed. Terrible. I've bought a new phone this month and the problem persists, so it's definitely a problem with the app. Unfortunately I'll have to move to PocketCasts os something.

I have used this app for years, and I have really enjoyed it. The interface is fairly intuitive and once it's set up with the automatic updates of the podcasts it has worked great - until the last update. Now, it marks every new download as "Played". I have to go through and manually clear the "Played" state. With some channels even that doesn't work, and I actually have to select "Play" on the item to clear the state. This has been such a reliable app in the past. Please fix this.

I've been using this app for a few years now, and it's never let me down in terms of available podcasts, and playback quality. It does time out fairly often when downloading larger podcast files, and the widget no longer works very well, as it can't start replaying unless you enter the app and start the player, it won't work from the home screen, or the lock screen anymore.

Has been an excellent app. Until the last update I have had no issues with it. Recently though it will only play continuously while the app is the active program, it will stop playback after 30 seconds if running in the background as I'm using a different app. Annoying, hope this gets fixed on the next update. Otherwise have been a happy user for several years, this has been my only issue.

I bought the unlock key for this and had been using it for years without incident. It has been unusable for several months now, and there haven't been updates to solve the problems. I cannot play from the widget, and it crashes completely if I try to stream a podcast rather than download it. A smaller issue is that when you play a podcast it prevents your phone's screen from sleeping. A podcast app without a functional play button is completely unacceptable. Do not bother with this app.

I've been using Beyond Pod since 2013 so I'm quite familiar with it. It's generally been a rock solid app with great flexibility in finding, downloading and managing your podcast library. In particular, I appreciate the numerous customizable settings that ensure the app retrieves only the episodes of the podcasts I want when I want them. My only complaint is that the latest update has some issue that causes the app to continuously try to refresh (as indicated by the pull down menu) and would cause the player interface to pop up on my lock screen no matter how many times I dismissed it. Had to resort to a Force Stop. Hopefully this gets fixed in the next update.

, I've been using this app for years. Been recently running into issues with a constantly pausing. It used to be every few minutes, now it's down to every 30 seconds. It makes it completely unusable. Try cutting your lawn while having to unlock your screen every 30 seconds to hit play. or trying to use it while you're driving, forget about it. what a shame this was one of the best podcast apps out there and now it's terrible.

I've used BeyondPod for many years, bought the premium unlock key, and recommended it to friends. But over the past months, when on a Bluetooth connection, the player stops playing multiple times during a podcast. I've asked the developers twice and am assured they are "working on it". But it still continues to annoy daily. Was the best - but has become the worst.

This app has the best layout i have seen for a podcast app. it has tons of features making it easy to control downloads. great selection. simple to use. i recently had to switch because of bugs though. my podcasts would turn off on their own every few minutes. that got annoying. I've been frustrated trying out other apps. some don't have timers. others use a lot of battery on my phone, I think because of the ads.
