BeyondPod Unlock Key

Have used and loved the app for a long time, but can't create an account to sync devices which is what I bought the unlock key for. Perhaps this is because they are still in beta, but if there are no more places for testing the sync feature, they should warn you before you spend the money for a feature you won't get.

i'm sad to say i'm going to have to find a new podcast app as beyondpod has become Beyond Frustrating. on the other hand, i'm glad to see i'm not alone here -- and it's not just me. BeyondPod *used to be* my favorite podcast app, literally right up until yesterday. yesterday, my phone crashed and i lost *ALL* of my feeds. i've rebuilt my feeds, but now the app is *incredibly* buggy. - playlist does not automatically play the next episode (i've double and triple checked to ensure i have it set up to do so, but it's not) - sometimes it just stops playing in the middle of a podcast for no reason whatsoever. it just stops. - sometimes, when this happens, if i hit play, it will start playing the episode from the beginning of the episode *and* from where it left off. if i stop the playback, the "ghost playback" continues. if i close the app entirely, the "ghost playback" will continue playing. i once had TWO ghost playbacks going at the same time. i had to open and close the app three times to get all of the different audios to stop.

Been using it for many many years. Was always my most reliable app. Went through 4 phone upgrades but always had this. Now I'm ready to find a new one. About a year ago it started to lock up and freeze every time you hit play on a widget or lock screen play button. It will hang on a white screen for 2-3 min before loading or won't load at all until I go into settings and force close it.

I don't understand why folks are giving this app such bad reviews. I've upgraded to Pro back in 2012 and its been a daily companion since then. It has the most logical layout of any of the podcasting apps with advanced features that let me auto build the playlist. The one thing that was frustrating to me was that I recently started using it over Bluetooth in my car, and it kept pausing. It turned out that a setting needed to be turned off (Settings/Player Settings/Automatic Pause or Resume/Pause on Headset Disconnect: set to unchecked). Once I fixed this it worked great. If BeyondPod isn't working quite the way you want, there is a good chance there is a setting set incorrectly.

Used it for years and it was always fussy but when it worked it had the best, most functional features (notably auto download and auto Playlist worked better than most other podcast players on the platform). It recently started randomly pausing when connected to Bluetooth. I uninstslled it today after it started pausing my playback 30 seconds at a time for an entire episode of a show that played just fine in Google's terrible native player. So... This ship is sunk.

This is easily the most frustrating app that I use on a regular basis. I paid for it at some point, so I guess I'm embracing sunk cost by continuing to use it. Episodes stop playing randomly, errors occur with no explanation, the UI is abysmal, the logic that preserves playlists is non-sensical. I wouldn't recommend this app above others until more time is put into usability and reliability.

I was like most reviewers a happy paid customer for many years (11?12?), having started to use BeyondPod on Windows Mobile OS when it was still a thriving thing. But I wouldn't pay for it now as it is too buggy and not supported enough. The May update could have fixed some things, I am seeing no crashes and the unresponsiveness at startup is mostly gone, but i don't have a lot of confidence since this took 2 years to come.

Update: newest update still has a messed up lock screen. Press skip once and it disappears, most if the time. I'd like to be able to keep skipping from the lock screen. I'm sad about the new update! I want the play / pause icon to continue showing up on the lock screen. I can't seem to get that feature back.

Best podcast app there is. I only have one fix request. My screen will not automatically sleep when in audio playback. Eats up my battery. UPDATE: The app has become unusable. will not update. keeps saying problem writing to sd card. i uninstalled before when started having problems, then reinstalled (losing everything). problems are worse now. This has been a good app for many years across different phones. is there a new guy f-ing with the code or what?

This has been my only podcast catcher for years! All of a sudden (this week), it won't update some of my feeds and it's gotten incredibly slow to download the ones it will update. I tried deleting the feed and reinstalling it but it won't even search for feeds anymore. I am using a Galaxy Note8.

2022 update to my 2018 review: Highest recommendation! I use this app every day. BeyondPod is the best podcast player/manager around. I have tried the most popular players and BeyondPod is the clear winner. The app is regularly updated and it is highly customizable. And it works perfectly with every Bluetooth headset I have ever used, including 5 different brands. BeyondPod still honors this unlock key that I purchased 7 years (and 3 phones) ago.

The app has started crashing every time my phone (pixel2) has anything sound related happen, including receiving texts or scrolling a video that is muted by default on Reddit or Instagram. If i pause it myself ajd try to reinitiate play from the keys on the sticky bar, it just hangs, says its not responding or processing, ajd never restarts. I have to force stop the app and start over to play. I love this app but its almost unusable right now.

I wouldn't spend money again on BeyondPod, not without major fixes. Basic issues where the app is slow to (or fails to) launch or where playback glitches and fails are frequent and common. Sad. Still so much more powerful than any other podcast app, but just not reliable enough to fund.

Used to be THE BEST podcast app-- I was a happy user for many years. Now it's so incredibly buggy It's almost unusable. FIX THE FREAKING WIDGET. I'm glad I paid for the unlock key years ago, since I at least got my money's worth. Do NOT spend any money on this app. I don't know if the app was sold to different devs or what, but it's gone completely down the toilet.

enjoying the beyond pod app, but it told me I needed to go pro in order to cast to my chromecast. according to the beyondpod support forums, this no longer works (known issue since at least Feb 2019). since this was the only feature that I was missing with the free version, i requested a refund. hope they fix this issue soon

This was the only app I was happy to pay for for YEARS. It did all the things I needed. After doing a maintenance factory reset to my phone, this app DOES NOT WORK. I tried to get customer support to assist with the numerous errors that were happening but after sending them the logs they requested, nothing. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I'm off to find something that WORKS. Do yourself a favor and use something else. This app is not worth anything anymore

Came here to look for an update or something to fix the issues I've been haveing. Found comment's from everyone elce haveing the same issues. Very disappointing, it was once amazing and one of the few apps that I happily purchased. Now I am very disappointed. If they release a patch that fixes all the issues I will happily change to a 5* review, but I am not holding my breath. It feels like they have got everyone's money and no longer care about providing the service we have paid for.

Purchased and then immediately refunded. I bought it for Chromecast support, which has apparently been broken (for some users at least) for years without an update. I love the interface, but advertising Pro as having Chromecast support which is actually broken is very shady to me.

Ever since the october update a year ago, its been unstable on my pixel 2 xl. After years of use, I switched over to podcast addict. Edit: final update - I've decided to stay with podcast addict and I'm now uninstalling beyondpod. this breaks my heart because I've been using beyondpod for so long.

Suppose to work with Android Auto, but actually not. Very unstable. Widgets no long working. I switched after years of use, too bad used to be good. If you like a stable listening experience, look some where else.

When starting up the app shows a white screen for 30 seconds. This prevents you from being able to play anything until it is done loading. This also happens periodically randomly.

if you're looking at the unlock key for google casting do not buy, it has not worked for months and the developer has been unable to rectify the issue. All other features are functional, I'll update this review if casting gets fixed.

craahes often this app locks up my phone and I have to wait for the "Beyond Pod is not responding" message before I can get it to unlock. often get an alert that Beyond Pod is managing feeds, but as fas as I can tell its just taking up processing and not doing anything

I've used Beyondpod for years, but i can't recommend anyone try it, much less pay for the unlock key, until the known bluetooth pause bug is fixed. Its become practically unusable for me.

Abysmal. EpisodeSync not functioning on multiple devices despite Beta testing signup, acceptance and exhaustive feedback/log reports. Upgraded to PRO, advertised EpisodeSync, primary PRO feature unavailable, False advertising. Back and forth with Service Dept only results in nonsensical excuses about issues that are no fault of the end user, but treated as if there was a failure by end user to join multiple beta testing groups, ridiculous. App not ready, terrible tech support/customer service.

have been using for years. just one issue: when paused and swiped away from notification pull-down, the app would just re-appear in notification pull-down. please fix.

I loved this app. I have tried everything and it won't work anymore since upgrade. It won't write to storage card despite changing all settings. So sad to be forced to find a new app.
