Bible Audio

I've been using this app for months and I love it. I like the option of increasing the playback speed because, for me, my mind wanders less and I'm more focused when I play it at higher speeds--speeds closer to my actual reading speed. I didn't give the app 5 stars for 2 reasons. At least one of the translations is pretty buggy--it stops playing and won't restart until you close the app and re-open it. Sometimes playback gets hung up between chapters. Minor issues. Overall, highly recommended.

Great app, many bugs. Downloaded for the NIV Max McLean audio version. Love that it has title cards for each verse that syncs with reading. Scrolling to the book and chapter you want is super easy too. However, it gets stuck on play within a few minutes- unable to pause or move forward or back, forced to close ALL active apps to get it to stop. I want to stick with this app because it's pretty great in concept, but if they can't patch the playback issues within a month I'll probably cancel.

No, I can't download my favorite translation. I would like to have ESV, WLC, SBLGNT. Glitched as soon as I started trying different narrators. I had two at same time, a little out of sync. This could be a good thing, but a one time Chirp purchase is probably better if you don't want to read along. I hope it continues to develop. It must be difficult to develop at that price point.

Not very well functioning. The audio plays even when you press the pause button. The app does not always obey the commands of the buttons the user is pressing. The same is true for the notifications control feature. The text does not always slide, and is out of sync with the audio.

It easily hangs when changing books or anything else. One time it hung while I was listening. I 'closed' the app (swiped it away) but it kept playing. Even opening other apps it kept playing. I had to put the phone to sleep to get it to stop. It needs a lot of work still, sorry.

App freezes after playing for 15 minutes or so. I close it, restart, it spins forever. Go to Play Store, try Restart from there, same. Uninstall, reinstall, plays then freezes. If not for the problems, I would love it. I will be looking for a similar app.

Have used the app for awhile now, and suddenly, all the books of the bible work *except* for the book of Genesis, Chapter 1, which totally freezes the app. I have rebooted and redownloaded several times, but all to no avail. So much for beginning at the beginning.

Great app for reading and listening to the bible like learning flashcards. However the automatic movement will only go in the direction of your last swipe. This means that if you go back to a card/verse to repeat it, you also have to swipe forward again to continue reading forward.

Bought both monthly and yearly and continue to get prompts to upgrade. I have had problems getting the app to close and stop talking, even clearing recent apps didnt stop it from talking. There's gotta be a better app. Not happy at all with this one.

The 30 day trial is a joke. Charged me immediately. The audio on the app is amazing! Just wish it would work correctly, every time. Tried to get the dramatized version to play continuously, but it stopped and was never able to get back to listening to more of the Bible.

Decent app, though a bit bare. It needs a button to navigate backwards if you want to listen to a verse before, and you should be able to select a verse for listening, instead of an entire chapter.

I love this app for the audio that I can play it anytime I want to . Being able to download and listen to it at night. Help me to get spiritually fed. I'm learning more by listening to the Bible. My whole family listens to it at night. It's something that you can use all day and all night like elevator music playing low at home throughout the day

The Bible versions list is frozen, I can't scroll it down to see other versions. I subscribed to have a French version, but no French version is available. The verse repetition quality is not good: it always utters one or two sounds of the next verse and then returns to the current.

Very good experience 👌 The best application to listen to the bible and to remember the verses . There are more than one version and more than one voice ,so you can choose what you prefer. I appreciate your efforts all staff ,, finally found what I needed. Highly recommend guys.

This is good quality and easy to use, but I'm really disappointed it only plays one chapter at a time. You have to swipe and hit play for every chapter, which makes it really hard to listen on a commute. If I could figure out how to fix this it would be 5 stars.

I received 2 separate emails advertising this app- one from Bible Gateway & one from Faith Gateway Free. Both said that there were several versions of The Bible to choose from. One of those was the NKJV. However, when I downloaded the app, I could only get the NKJV if I upgraded to the premium- which was NOT free! This was false advertising, so I will be deleting the app from my phone. Shame on you, Bible Gateway! I expected a higher standard from you!

This could have been the best bible audio if not for the technical issues. It freezes all the time, moreover I have to reinstall it every couple of weeks because it won't open. Fix it and I give you 5 stars.

The repeat function on the app does not work well, it repeat sometimes most of the time it does not. This is really disappointing considering I paid extra at a monthly rate to get some functionality out of it which does not provide.

poor customer service. email only. who has time to explain everything with this app by email and then hope you get an answer that helps. they want $20 to be able to listen off line. good price but can't figure out how to process the payment. the instructions sent were not helpful. the app doesn't always want to connect. I can't use it on or offline now. oh well. and sort but email to help as many people as possible? how many is that? after reading the rest of the reviews, I'm uninstalling.

I recently used this app to memorize 2 Peter chapter 1. I have tried to memorize this chapter many times and now I really have!! It helps to see and hear the verses and move it forward when we are readt to go to the next verse. Thank you so much for this tool...I really love it.

Good App for memorizing bible verses. The app has a glitch at the end of the verse when it is set on repeat. It annoyingly tries to continue reading the next verse before it abruptly goes back like it should. Pls fix. Thanks.

I downloaded this app specifically to listen to smaller sections on repeat, but repeat doesn't work. The regular Bible Gateway app has more versions and readers, so without repeat, this one is kind of pointless.

It was working well, but the last week or so I have had to uninstall and reinstall several times for it to work. It won't open, continues to spin. Not sure if there was an update or if it needs one. Please fix it because I really did love this app until these issues.

Bad experience I logged off. Then I tried to logg in and it just kept buffering I sent an email all they said to go troubleshoot. Hec you can't even find the settings. But that's not I was with some friends that's when it went. Bad, Bad,

It wouldn't let me use it at all without purchasing the Gold subscription. I would prefer to try it out at least a little before purchasing. The email I received from BibleGateway left me with the impression that there was a free version. Ah well....

I paid for the app, on days 1-7 there were issues. I use an uncommon phone and they were able to address the problem I had. I corresponded with the support team and was able to work out the solution.

I dowloaded the app and hit play and could not turn it off! I only had an upgrade button and was not wanting to get charged so I only was able to turn it off by uninstalling! Maybe IT can find out what happened!Gid bless you for sharing Gods Word!

Great app. ..if you don't like to read..I use it to set a positive clean atmosphere in my apartment. MY sick cat loves it as well.. She sits by my phone as If she's listening.

It's a good app would u pls work on the audio bible repeat verse feature As it should repeat only one verse on repeat in the repeat verse feature but here it also goes to read the beginning words of the next verse which becomes distracting while meditating on a verse

I listen to the Bible constantly on this app, while working in the kitchen or exercising or doing a million other things. It means the world to me. Thanks so much, Bible Gateway! Your work is having a huge effect in imbedding the Word of God in me and making our Lord Jesus Christ more real to me.
