I love the idea behind the app. It has helped me to memorise and to share many verses with others. I'm looking forward to the various improvements the app will experience as Rev Peter takes feedback seriously and is continually improving the project. Try it out and feel free to send an email if you have any questions or suggestions.

I have been using this app for several years now and it's so helpful in memorizing scripture. The basic practice is flashcard style with a hint option available. You can categorize your verses, choose different translations, and opt to have verse numbers or not. Before you move a verse to your known verses list, there are several ways to practice. You can set it to remind you every day to practice so you never miss a day. This is a great tool and I highly recommend it.

Best tool I have found for memorizing large chunks of scripture! I would like even more review features, but the ones they have are very effective. The one that works best for me is to see the first letter of each word and then I reveal after I say it in my head. I run through several passages each morning. I often pull it out while my kids play on the playground. I even moved the app into the spot where my Instagram was so I would be reminded to give priority to God's words.

Great app, perfect for helping me learn the word!!! Only thing to improve would be a better alert/ reminder system. I get a very unintrusive alert when I scroll down from the top of my phone to check alerts (which I don't often do). I selected in the app for it to make a noise at a set time but it doesn't do that, so I've set up a different system to remind me to use the app. Otherwise, it's perfect.

I really like this app for its simplicity and versatility. I really like the colors used, as well. Unfortunately, I'm a word reader, not a picture reader, so I haven't figured out how to properly use all the features. The automated repetition is probably the best overall help to me. BTW, no ads; I'd give 10 stars for this alone if I could.

I agree with other reviewers that have said it needs a tutorial, or at least instructions. It would also be helpful if it went step by step, only allowing you to move on when you've completed each task, with the option of the way it is already set up, as well. As the last step, we should be able to type in each word to see if we remember it by heart. *Games would be a nice bonus (hangman?), too, especially for the younger audience but they're not necessary. Perhaps 5 stars, then!? :)

Very convenient to be able to play a few games to test your memory and have reminder notifications to review. I am still trying to figure out the best way to space reminders since I can't specify a day of the week or frequency as easily I would like. Also, I wish I had the option to copy in verse numbers with the verse text since the ladies at my church are doing whole chapters at a time. It's nice to have a mental/visual hook/anchor if I get tripped up in a 15-16 verse passage.

I love this app. It's great to be able to save a scripture in it every time you come across one you'd like to memorize, and the convenience of having it with all the time so you can pull it out when when you have a few minutes. I like that there are different "puzzle" options to practice the verses, and options within each puzzle for personal preferences. I find this app to be a highly effective way to memorize scripture!

Horrible app. Adding verses is not intuitive nor easy. When highlighting verses to add, it scrolls through and highlights the entire chapter. Plus changing versions is not easy. I like to select different versions for different verses. And the voice that speaks the verses sounds like a robot. There are other better ones out there. Thought I'd try something new, but it isn't worth it.

I was using another app when I discovered this one, and it didn't take me long to switch! So many ways to learn the verses I choose! I would love a way to enter a long passage but then break it into focus sections--that's a feature request, not a complaint. If there were a tutorial or guide sequence, that would make this an over the top app!

This is a terrific app with great options for memorizing the Bible. I especially love that I don't have to have perfect spelling and grammar when I type the verses so I can go more quickly. Four stars is because I'd love the app to have more of a tutorial so that it explains the different features rather than having to figure them out. I also would love the cloud blur feature to have a swipe bar option so that I can start with most of the words cloudy rather than most of them clear. Thanks! ❤

Interface and help menu are a little tricky to figure out, but I really appreciate the different verse review functions. Best feature to me? The ability to do flashcards and record yourself saying the verse before you flip it, and then immediately hearing whatbyou said to check yourself! I use it to learn verses in Chinese. The app's reading voice is really not bad! Not a bad alternative to "Bible Memory" (formerly "Scripture Typer"), esp. since it is free!

I've had this app for a few years, and have enjoyed it very much. I can put in whatever Bible verses or passages I want to memorize in whatever version I desire. (I use either NASB or ESV, usually.) It is also nice that I can set how often I want to review them. I like the different game-like options that help with the memory work. I've had no problems with the app at all.

Great app. Two suggestions: 1. Make it so tapping the letter beside the correct one will still work - typos are so easy! 2. When typing the first letter of each word, and a word has a 's at the end, it thinks that the 's is a separate word and you have to type an S as well. I've never been able to get used to that. Thank you!!!

This is the most comprehensively useful free Bible verse memorization app I have used so far. It offers a number of different tools for practicing verses, allows you to group verses by category, lets you customize how frequently you will get tested on verses again, and offers all of the standard translations right out of the box. The UI may take a little getting used to for some, but once you understand it, this is a very powerful tool that every Christian ought make use of.

Years ago, I carried memory verse cards around. Now there's a less cumbersome way and it's simple to use. I like that one can use different approaches in memorizing each Scripture. Different English translations of the Bible are also available. Would be good if we could download photos from our own phone gallery and use it as backgrounds for the verses.

This Bible Memory app is a great resource for anyone looking for help memorising verses from the Bible. A good selection of tools within the app help you to solidify your memorisation of any verse you choose. Reminders can be set to help you keep on top of your learning goals. It would be great to have a clearer user interface, as it's not initially clear how to use certain tools within the app.

I have had this app over a year now and use it daily. Great app to help with memorizing Scripture or just compiling favorite verses or passages. Simple, easy to use interface, attractive design, and friendly, helpful support. Love that so many translations are available for side by side comparison and reference. I highly recommend this app!

While I am not greatly into using apps, and it took me an hour or two to figure out how to comfortably drive this one, it has ended up being a huge help to me in being disciplined about consistently practising and keeping fresh Bible passages I have memorised. I have joyfully recommended this app to family members and friends. Whatever time it takes to set up a Bible passage in a useful format, with line and paragraph breaks in the right places for aiding visual memorisation, is well worth it.

Lau. P. Jul 30, 2019

this app makes memorizing not only easier but customizable as well. you can label the verses and then memorize in groups. it automatically brings previously memorized verses back so you can keep them fresh. I also like that you can memorize whatever portion you like from single verses to entire books. the only draw back in my opinion is that if you have a lot of scriptures you're trying to memorize, it brings them back up too often and it can be overwhelming because you may have too many due.

Good for storing away those verses I come across and think, "I really must memorise that one" - now I can just add them to my list and use the app to gradually do just that! I like the spaced repetition and flexible study features, you can add verses in any translation from biblegateway or type it in yourself. I can learn new verses at my own pace, and once they're in my mind I can meditate on them whenever I like and store them in my heart, ready for when I, or someone else, needs them!

Super reliable and flexible. I can easily add verses, and I appreciate the regular sequence of review. Coordination between my phone and Kindle is seamless, and the developer is always super responsive if I have had questions or issues (very rarely, and only because I had such an old version on my Kindle at the time).

Pet. W. Jun 29, 2020

Very enjoyable. However usability and intuitiveness are lacking. An intro/tour would be helpful as well as better ways to import Scripture verses. What if I want to load the entire book of philippians as individual verses for example? There does not seem to be an easy way to do this.

I am surprised to use this app without any purchase for android. I am marvelled when I used the memorizing features like puzzles, audio background,... Thankyou for this app creation. It helps me to memorize the scriptures more easier. I am expecting some changes in review system and in history graphs. Here the graphs are visible only for a week but I am expecting the graph should be visible throughout the year. I will be happy with this app even though there is no update for this app.☺☺

I love this app so much! I recently heard you can raise your I.Q. by memorizing scripture and this app and the games it contains helps. The only thing I would change or at least add is the ability to type out the verse letter by letter instead of touching the first letter and the word appearing. Also, having this app available for iPhone would be nice. I keep recommending it to friends and they have an iPhone and aren't able to download it.

UPDATE: Changing from 3 stars to 4 from a previous review as I have finally figured out how to do the practice exercises I was having trouble figuring out. I like them better now & will be keeping the app. It needs directions though for dummies like me lol. Also, I wish it had more options for practice exercises. Not enough choices.

A well-rounded tool for Scripture memorization or any passage of text (books of the Bible, catechism). Add verses using the lookup tool. Great mini exercises for all stages of learning and reviewing verses. I use the cloud game when learning a passage the first time and type-the-first-letter game to check my accuracy. I haven't yet figured out a good way to chain verses for memorizing long passages. Currently I break them into small chunks for learning then combine them after I know them.
