I like this app, but there's a limit to the number of verses you can upload on the free version, and they aren't upfront about that or the cost to upgrade. I can't find the price of the pro version anywhere, and when I emailed to ask, all I got were emails offering 20% off the pro version, but 20% off of what? I wish these apps were more honest about the potential cost, because I don't have a problem paying for an app I like and use, but I don't care for the deceitfulness.
Works very well for me. I tried several of the top rated bible memory apps and this one is the best. The pro version is well worth the ten bucks or whatever it was. Update: I logged into my pre existing account, and instead of backing up my progress from my phone to my account, it overwrote months of progress, dozens of verses, and thousands of "points" with a few verses I had on my account from years prior. On the bright side, the scripture is still in my mind and heart! No support response.
This app makes memorizing verses easy and fun. Even at my not-so-young age, I'm able to memorize entire chapters.
FEEDBACK FOR DEVELOPERS: It's very time consuming having to go through each verse to mark as reviewed and having to do the same in changing the review frequency. It would help TREMENDOUSLY if you're able to select multiple verses you've memorized at once and mark them as reviewed. And being able to do the same thing with the review frequency. It's time consuming having to go through hoards of memorized scripture verses or passages and marking them off one by one as reviewed.
I've had this app since June 2015, and I've never found one that works better ... yet it's still incredibly frustrating at times. Changing the review frequency for a collection of verses must be done verse by verse, with no mass-editing options available. Ouch. I've memorized books... Long-click, click, click, click. Repeat 104 times? Waaah... Trying to move a collection of verses into a different folder is even worse. Still, it's the best I've seen, and someday it may become truly fantastic.
I've been using Scripture Typer for several years, and I love it, but there are some serious issues with the latest update. The max review frequency has been reverted to the original once a month from what I had set it to. All of my verses are locked at whatever frequency they were before the update saying "review frequency is maxed out" at 4 days, or 2 weeks, or whatever it is, and when I try to change it, the frequency gets set back to a higher frequency. Whenever I try to open the preferences tab in the settings, the whole app crashes, so I haven't been able to update my own preferences.
It is frustrating how every time I open the app it tries to sync with the server and this totally locks up the software, making it unusable. I don't have that many verses. It should be able to perform this function in the background while I am using the app. The concept of the app is great but the software can be clunky. Update 3/2021: Works great now, thanks!
Used to work well. I've not used it in a while but when I open the app now it starts sync. However it crashed the app every time rendering it useless. I notice the app hasn't had an update since 2018, perhaps it is no longer running properly. I previously would have given it 4 or 5 stars. Given that this is an ongoing problem they are aware of, but they haven't updated or fixed any bugs since 2018, I think it's actually dishonest for them to keep selling it.
This app was great for a long time, but in the last month or so it started crashing every time I opened it. I have an Android, and now for some reason I can't do anything in the app. It crashes while it is trying to sync any time I add a verse, look at settings, try to review a verse, etc. It's to the point out where I can't open it at all. Can someone look into maintenance for the app on Androids?
Overall, it does what I need: help me to learn scripture. I like the way they review. The reason for the missing stars is that I can never get the read Bible feature to work. I click on it and it says the Bible is downloaded but it never shows up. Also, there is no option to share a scripture from another source which is really handy and present in another app I have. Also, I know that have to make money but I feel as though flash cards should be an included feature for the free version. Recommended if your wants are super simple. It's a good app to review scripture for memorization.
I am surprised at how helpful this app is! I've had difficulty finding a good aide to scripture memory, so I was hesitant. I like rote memory, and memorizing passages rather than individual verses. But this app has been helpful both in memorizing and in retaining passages. Personally, I find difficulty in actually meditating on the scripture while reciting through this app because I'm focused on accuracy. There are also many UX inconsistencies which I would hope get resolved.
I love this app, straight up. It is so simple to add verses, memorize them, and review them. More than that, the app is a pleasure to use. I look forward to memorizing and shooting for that elusive 100%. My one complaint is that there is no dark mode/skin. I often reach for this app when I can't sleep and I would love to able to do that with a dark background of some kind that is easier on the eyes in the dark.
Warning! This approach is addictive! It satisfies the inner need to complete and succeed. My whole family is getting into it. I am memorizing more scripture than i have in awhile. I love memorizing whole books and large portions of scripture. It's very effective in helping me get the practice i need. There's no better habit than getting my mind fixed on the scriptures.
Thoroughly enjoying this, and getting some memorization accomplished. That said, we need a feature that makes it optional to skip the reference input at the end of the verse. As it is now, this requirement stops the natural flow of the text to the point that it greatly impacts the ability to memorize more than one verse. King David didn't know these verse numbers, and I don't need to know them either.
Great app, very helpful and encouraging to motivate myself and others to memorize. Some suggestions: - I enjoy that review frequency increases after successful first attempt, but it would be nice to have an automatic review regression after a horrendous first attempt or multiple attempts. - sometimes my app sync freezes - could the Spanish NVI translation be added? Right now I copy and paste. - my uncategorized folder displays double the verses that it actually contains. Great app!
The memory tool is very effective, but I'm having trouble with long passages...It's very hard to memorize a passage always reviewing only one verse at a time. Am I missing something? I didn't see any settings for reviewing a whole chapter, or all the "mastered" verses in a chapter all together.
This is a great app, with all its memorisation features. Lately, however, the app does not sync with the website. I have added many more verses on the website, and I need them on the app as well, but they don't show up, no matter how many times I hit sync. I am still waiting for the developers to reply to my email on the matter.
I love this app. I don't think any app is a good replacement for writing verses out or saying them out loud. But for what an app CAN do, this app does so so well. I am able to grasp verses quickly, and then make them sink in with word of mouth. No major complaints about this app. If I could ask the developers to add one more feature, it would be an option to have you memorize the reference as well in larger passages. It would be a help for me and how I prefer to use your app.
This has been my favorite way to memorize and review Bible verses. The audio feature is my favorite part,, followed closely by being able to practice by typing the first letter of the words as a review mode. Thank you! Ideas for future: dark mode? And ability to download the audio would be amazing! Still, I'm a long time user and will be happy to use this app for years to come (and will continue to share it with all my friends)!
I really like this app. It is fun and it works for scripture memory. It was a little hard to navigate the group aspect, but when I emailed the support team I got a response within two days and the response was helpful. I love the badges and I hope they add more. Also I love the group aspect and would like to see that development more full too. This app with a bit more refinement has the potential for five star.
I tried this for free and enjoyed it on my tablet. Until I brought the pro level, that's when the problem started. I imported about over a 100 verses, then I started to experience problems. I tried to import new verses, but it will not allow me. It keeps telling me that I am not connected to the internet, which I was. I uninstalled and re-installed and was still getting the problem. I could not login and so I reset my password and still could not. I tried to register but could not. I cannot review the flash cards. Using on my laptop, it fine but on the website there is no way for me to troubleshoot the problems I have with the app. I am frustrated and disappointed with the app.
Just fabulous. I love using it. I love especially watching my kids use it. It's an extremely helpful tool in memorizing scripture, and has built in incentive by seeing your score and rank. Not that that matters, but it makes pushing forward a little fun, too. My highest recommendation to make scripture memory a regular part of your bible study routine!
This app is great (the best in the market for the purpose AFAIK). Would given 5 stars but for two reasons: one, app notifications don't work. Two, when I try to switch Bible versions before importing verse collections from a group, I get a totally different version than what I selected. Please see how these can be fixed, and I'll gladly update to 5 stars. Oh, and one more thing: I don't see the Statistics tab, even though I got the pro version. Cheers.
This is a great app and I have found it helpful in memorizing scripture generally. In order for it to really be excellent, they need a speech to text option for review so that you can practice reciting the verse from memory rather than just typing it. Please add this feature! It would be so helpful!
