Emmaus Correspondence School (ECS)

ECS has been helping people study the Bible since 1942 by providing Bible courses sent through the mail. Now, with this App you can now complete ECS courses and exams with your mobile phone or tablet. You can study individual courses for a specific certificate, or aim for an Associate Diploma in Biblical Studies or a full Diploma in Biblical Studies.

How it works

Using this App, you can complete the courses and take exams and receive immediate grade results. As you complete courses, you earn study units that count toward a variety of certificates. These certificates document your accomplishments as you study. Each exam contains multiple choice and/or true or false questions. Each exam also has a "What Do You Say" essay style question. Your response to this question in each exam will be reviewed by an ECS instructor, and you will receive their comments in the App for you to keep. This distinct student / instructor communication feature of the Emmaus Correspondence School App will help you to make the most of your studies. After you complete a course, you will continue to have access to the course, and all comments from Instructors through this App.

Why Study The Bible

Although the Bible’s writing involved at least 40 human authors over a period of 1,600 years it is a cohesive, harmonious unit. The last chapter was penned nearly 2,000 years ago, but it is more contemporary than today’s newspaper. Much of it is written in language simple enough for a child to understand, yet the greatest minds of the ages have failed to exhaust its immeasurable riches.

But the Bible is more than an interesting book. It is a book to be read, to be studied, to be loved and to be used. No other book tells us so much about what God is really like. Nor does any other book give us such an honest and straightforward report on the human race. And finally, only the Bible shows us how God can meet the deepest longings of our hearts and how we can have a satisfying, fulfilling, God-glorifying relationship with Him and with our fellow man.

Who is ECS?

Emmaus Correspondence School (ECS), started in 1942 and is now a division of ECS Ministries; it is dedicated to helping you study and understand the Bible. We have developed over 90 Bible courses designed to help you see what God’s Word has to say to you. Each course is written by gifted, experienced teachers of God’s Word. Exams are designed to help you reinforce your understanding of important Biblical truths.

An ECS course links the student with a pool of Instructors who give personal attention and are ready to assist the student in their studies. It is this feature of correspondence study that sets it apart from other methods of study. Our interest continues long after you join us. We follow your progress and our commitment is to ensure that you receive the maximum possible benefit through your studies. The App maintains your student transcript records in the ECS Cloud.
