Bible The Passion Translation (TPT) With Audio
Dr. Brian Simmons is known as a passionate lover of God. After a dramatic conversion to Christ, Brian knew that God was calling him to go to the unreached people of the world and present the gospel of God’s grace to all who would listen. With his wife, Candice, and their three children, he spent nearly eight years in the tropical rain forest of the Darien Province of Panama as a church planter, translator, and consultant. Brian was involved in the Paya-Kuna New Testament translation project. He studied linguistics and Bible translation principles with New Tribes Mission. After their ministry in the jungle, Brian was instrumental in planting a thriving church in New England (USA) and now travels full-time as a speaker and Bible teacher. He has been happily married to Candice since 1971 and boasts regularly of his three children and eight grandchildren.
The message of God’s story is timeless; the Word of God doesn’t change. But the methods by which that story is communicated should be timely; the vessels that steward God’s Word can and should change. One of those timely methods is Bible translation. Bible translations are both a gift and a problem. They give us the words God spoke through his servants, but words can be poor containers for revelation because they leak! The meanings of words change from one generation to the next. Meaning is influenced by culture, background, and many other details. Just imagine how differently the Hebrew authors of the Old Testament saw the world three thousand years ago from the way we see it today!
Characteristics of the application
The application is easy to use and allows you to listen and read the sacred scriptures quickly and easily, without the need of an internet connection.
You can pause the playback of the chapter and listen to it where you left it again and choose the verse wherever you start when reading.
The audio playback performed by the application is using the Voice Synthesizer that contains the cellular device or tablet.
If the device does not support this functionality, the program will indicate it.
Access to the options menu quickly and sensibly.
Option to change the text size.
Change of reading background of the book.
Access to favorite chapters and verses.
Search for words in books, chapters and verses.
Night mode to facilitate reading and decrease the light of the screen.
Notification Daily a verse.
You can click on the screen and the lower part will show the name of the book and the chapter, when pressed, the list of books will appear and in the other the chapters that the selected book has.
You can select one or several verses of a chapter and mark as a favorite you can also share with your friends the verses in the different social networks.
By clicking on the favorite clip, you will see the verses that you marked for quick access.
The Search menu will allow you to place a word in a text field and search the entire bible, in the old or new testament. If you specify the search range it may take less time to find matches, but if you select the whole bible it will take longer to Find the results.
The configuration will allow you to change the size of the letters and the reading mode (Night and day).

Audio is not working. downloaded the Male and female voices in English and Spanish but buttonto switch gender is disabled. I don't know what happened to the voice choices I downloaded. When I press play it just selects paragraphs and moves as If I'm reading and scrolling but I'm not touching the screen at all. Also no one wants a robot voice please change to human voice. No one is responding to any of the complaints in an effort to fix all the problems.
I really like this app. I enjoy the daily verse that pops up as a notification, but as soon as you close the page it's gone unless you remembered to write down the chapter and verse numbers. So if the creator of the app could add a section that saves the chapter and verse so we can go back to the ones we really like or want to share that would be all the better!
I downloaded this app because it said with audio. But it is not a real voice so not bearable to listen to. I can read this version through other bible apps so the only benefit would be the audio. Also the ads are intrusive. I do not want daily verses especially when the verse chosen are negative which need context to explain.
I'm concerned about the accuracy of this app. I have contacted the email listed about this. I will update if I hear back from them. I was listening this morning to Colossians. Chapter 3 verse 5 has a completely added sentence in the app and when I went to check my hard copy of my 2020 edition passion translation Bible it was not there. See for yourself. This app has completely added something about living free from diseases..It is completely omitted from the actual hard copy of my Bible at home
I was so happy to find this app has been made available for those who love God's word. But upon reading my favorite part: Psalm 139 verse 1. Don't you think something is missing there? Please don't take God's words away from the original version. I know that perhaps human's error can play a part but meticulous citations of God's word can't be corrupted.
I like the menu at the bottom and also background selection is nice. I really like the audio and it the reading pace can be changed.
Nice font and easy to find passages but you can't just scroll to the next chapter. no useful footnotes. The older version of the TPT by Bible Gateway is better.
Like the version easy to read.Too many pop up adds at the top of the page. If the pop up adds were eliminated I would keep the App. i chose to uninstall it.
Too many adds, needs a lot of polishing. Uninstalling as voice is now totally not working and adds cut in and that us far too annoying!!!
It's a nice idea but I'm having trouble choosing my deleted voice and also I can't seem to wright notes. Notes comes on the screen but it won't right anythng.
Verse of the day for Sunday 31 January 2021 referenced Hebrews 20:23. Hebrews does not have 20 chapters but 13. This is my first day to use this app. This makes me wonder then how many other errors are in this application. It makes me feel to cannot be trusted.

I have read the Bible through several times. I love God's Word. This version is like no other in that I feel God's Love coming through to my heart. Thank you for this app. It is a blessing.
You need a REAL human person to narrate the scripture. A computer voice is terrible (the voice is flat the inflection incorrect). _i would love to read it aloud!
So i far i love all the options . The look of it is beautiful. I have a few bible apps but this is quickly becoming my new fav

Thanks for this but it doesn't do it for me, with the Hebrew scriptures - the old testament not included.
There is no Old Testament except Psalms and Proverbs. One needs whole not part please. Do something and upgrade. However I still give a 5 star rating

Thank-you! This is helpful when my vision is blurry! The voice isn't too robotic if you adjust the tempo a bit. I've noticed that the audio freezes after a couple of chapters of you aren't reading along. I like to let the screen sleep and simply listen. Sometimes having another (even a computer voice) reading helps me to hear things anew. Really appreciate this app!.
