The New International Version (NIV) is an evangelical version of the Bible. This version is translated directly from sources in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek.
The translation was prepared in 1999 by a group of expert biblists who represent
a dozen Spanish-speaking countries, which belong to a good number of
Christian denominations evangelical and that used the same exegesis as the Anglo-Saxon version New International Version. The publication is in charge of the Biblical publishing house (former International Bible Society). The New International Version is one of the most widespread versions of the Bible.
