Same as the book. I bought the book, then bought the app thinking the app would have up to date info. But no, it's the same as the book. No updates since the book was published. Nothing about covid adjustments at sites. No need to buy this app. The book is kind of good, but you can do just fine with Google Maps searches.
Without The Big Island Revealed tour app, I would've been totally lost in the island! Thanks to this app and the GPS, I was able to get to all the places I wanted to visit and never got lost. This is a wonderful app that is super easy to use for all kinds of users. Truly, a Hawaiian tourist's best friend!
FYI. This is a sample. I hate the annual subscription idea, but looking at my guide books again I'll give the author credit. Between Fodor, Lonely Planet, & Frommers I like his the most. The books aren't enough, you need the app to use GPS to find things through your phone. It's the reason I bought the prior apps.
Installed the android version in Aug 2019. Opens fine, when I try to buy the full version it crashes. Need this bad. Had the Maui version several years ago and it helped make our trip memorable. Too bad this one doesnt work.
Works great, but the integration with Google maps is a bit temperamental. We found a bunch of things we would have never found without the app though!
App closes with each attempt to buy the product. We would like to purchase the app, but obviously cannot due to this glitch.
Seems okay, but why am I paying a subscription for a book? Most books I can buy and I don't have to keep paying the book store each year.

typical modern app garbage. makes you register just to use and then hides all useful content behind paywall. shame on you devs, get a real job or kill yourself
I bought the book on Amazon. I didn't know about the app or I would have just bought the app! Darn it.
Must have if travelling to the Big Island.
UPDATE. I was contacted by BIR and advised to delete and reinstall using restore option. Seems to be working now. Many thanks. Downloaded the app and worked fine for a few days. When ready to travel, it stopped. Now I get the title page and then it just stops and I'm back to my home page. Will not load! So sorry I paid for an app that I can't use. Arrived today on the Big Island and will need to use the internet for info. So annoying.
