I THOUGHT the app was decent until I attempted to push a number option for my doctor's office and received a pop up that stated this was only available in a paid version. Seriously?!? Something so simple has to be paid for? This makes this app completely USELESS! People are forced to pay to use a feature that should be free. I could see paying for other features but part of a simple call? Nope. You get 0 stars! UNINSTALLED!
The "contacts" area is confusing - have to click contact, and then the number? Needs a phone icon, or "call" message or something prompting senior what to do next. Much better yet to call immediately, no details screen as option. Simplify! Preferences should be the last thing on the page. And dial number should be "dial pad" or "open dial pad". Finally, put emergency button (contact) as the first contact (911, etc-user specify). Single press it.

The keypad doesn't work during a call e.g. you can't enter passwords, voicemail options, or use self serve phone lines! Don't be fooled when the keypad works for dialing! On my Huawei phone (Honor 5x), couldn't get past the 'default permissions' screens. I manually assigned the Big Phone as my default dialer but it doesn't recognize it as such. Also, upon reading the other reviews, i think it's cruel of the developers to block the keypad during a call unless you pay. Many seniors call their insurance companies and other services that require a touch tone phone for the menu system.
Love this app!!!! Thank you for all of your hard work. Now, that said, I have a few requests/questions. Can you set it up so I can have an 'add call' options? Sometimes I need to do 3 way conference calls. Or else an easy way to go to the phones dialer instead? I bet you have this...I need help finding it. Also, I updated some contacts in my gmail contacts list, but they didn't updated in BIG Phone. Can you tell me how to sync it? The phone says it synced, but the contacts aren't updated. Looking for ideas. Thank you again. Your apps are helping my dad have more independence. We are appreciative of your many efforts.
I just paid for the full version of this app and I actually like it BUT it could use some work. I need to conference call sometimes and cannot figure out where to do it. PLEASE ADD CONFERENCE CALLING!!! Also make it so that your dial launcher, email, conference call, text messages and contact list are all on the same page so you don't have to go hunting for them. This app is not only for seniors, but people who have a hard time seeing small print.
Very nice & useful app. But in recent call list, it doesn't group same numbers. Imagine, if user receives/makes 20 calls from/to same number, it shows all of them seperately, creating a mess. Instead, it should group same numbers in recent call list, even if there are just two calls from same numbers. Please update it soon.
I loved the app. I have very low vision this app helped me a lot. I m facing only one difficulty. I have so many contacts and I can't type much because of very low vision so have to scroll down a lot to find the contacts. Plz have an alphabet bar on the side with the help of which I can jump to the desired starting letter. I searched so much but found no app having this feature
If I could give this app 10 Stars I would. I'm not a senior or visually impaired I just hate small fonts! Why can't Google understand some people don't like miniature text! All the apps that come with the Android phone are useless! I wish Big Launcher could develop a whole operating system. I also like the black and blue high contrast features. I think Google wants us to squint our eyes until we all wear glasses. Thanks Big Launcher!
Not senior or visually impared - but use as a desk dialler. As I work from home, I like having my phone on a charging stand. I use this dialler and a headset to make many calls, it works really well and has nice customisable features. Perhaps could rename it to big phone dialer?
I used this app till about a year ago and I want to install it on another phone I have but the new version of this app absolutely is awful can't even make screen changes to add screens anymore. I bought the full version thinking it would unlock the opportunity to make more screens and it did not so I'm hoping to get my money back as I have paid for this once back a while ago. You're making me pay twice with this app what a rip-off I want my money back
Develepor makes updates that change functionality. Confusing for my grandfather. For example, without premium, the keypad can no longer be used during voicemail, rendering it inoperable. I'm okay with paying. I'm not okay with scummy updates.
Bought full version for my mom. 1. "Dial Number" doesn't work. It just flashes and doesn't show the dial pad. 2. Changing preferences doesn't save the new settings. There is no "save" button.
Ok this app is really good for my mom with macula degeneration....she got very excited to realize she can see the huge numbers and finally be able dial a number.....however I am not that happy as I paid for the full version of this app to get all the goodies and after I paid for, I see no difference with the free version. son pls kindly refund my money or activate whatever it is extra with the paid version I paid for. A really awesome feature you should consider to add to your wonderful app for seniors with sight issues, is SPEED DIAL!!!! OMG!!! I am surprised you have not already included this precious capability to your great app!!! Please do, asap, that would save my mom and many other seniors so much time and pain to dial sometimes 11 digits to call across the globe! Thanks so much and hope I get my refund or the extra feature it has the BIG PHONE FOR SENIORS and yes, i had already downloaded the BIG LAUNCHER too...not sure my mom would have any use of the BIG SMS, as it is hard enough to dial numbers and to try spell words...anyhow, thanks again for thinking of the seniors of the world, that sometimes are so forgotten
Was forced to buy full version in order to use keypads during the call! Also you are forced to combine this app with the big launcher and big sms otherwise it will not work. Update: changed my review to 4 stars due to the fast solutioning and refund from the dev team.
Almost had a win with this app. My mom wants a phone that opens the PHONE when she presses the PHONE icon, not a list of other options (one of which is the PHONE). Too bad, though. The huge number keys are great!
Seriously? Force people to buy the app just to be able to use the keypad during a call? What kind of junk app is this?! Please make the keypad available to free app users! I was foced to switch to the very hard to use default phone app just to be able to place a very important call and navigate my way through the automated system of the phone call. Please make this right and make the keypad available to the basic version of the app!
I figured it out last night. A little complicated without instructions on how to delete call history, but it's great app, everything big, the bigger the better.😄
Great phone app, the only one I can find that lets you hide the mute and hold buttons! Full version is rather expensive though
I just paid 13 for launching and need to use keyboard to set up voicemailand it says I need to buy something else. This is ridiculous. I'm trying to set this up for my mom. About to get a refund
There is too many confirmations when making or ending a call. My gran is 96, its confusing her. It should be more automated. Otherwise, this app is the best of the bunch.
Good app, but the "preferences " tab needs to be made smaller or moved, my grandmother has changed the language on her phone several times by accident.
this is a phone for seniors that has big letters where they can see and where they need to dial from but I have a little problems with keeping you from other people listening to your information they'll fix it
Care too much for the big phone because it keeps you can't really get into the phone calls that you want to get into but it'll work for somebody who's blind who really can't see
Dial pad not accessable in free version so can't call anyone with an extension or automated call centers. Also experiencing the 1 ring issue many are having.
I installed and paid for this app to work on my galaxy a52 5g and it stopped all calls coming in. As I had subscribed and paid used pro on all company's other apps big sms big launcher I'm very dissapointed all my phones settings were correct I missed two important phone calls_please note developer has since contacted me to offer a refund and said it must be an external fault my end. However 5 stars for quick response back and offer of refund.
Replaced phone all previous paid version not recognized. I know you had to split apps up but terrible customer service to now prompt to pat per app. 86 mother can't understand her phone now trying to extort cash to see old numbers. Fix this WITHOUT asking users to contact you. You know who already paid.
GREAT APP FOR ANYONE WITH SIGHT PROBLEMS OR SOMEONE WHO WANTS A SIMPLE PLAIN EASY TO NAVIGATE LAYOUT. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE OLD TO USE THIS APP.. THE FREE VERSION IS VERY GOOD. THE PAID VERSION @ £6.49 is a fiver to much. It allows use of dialler when calling which is essential now when calling any business number. Banks. The Doctors, Gas. Electric suppliers etc. "PRESS OPTION 1-2-3 ON YOU KEY PAD" sound familiar ?
I was hoping for a simple phone for making calls but. Without a maze of buttons to use, filling the screen making it harder to find the calling buttons.
I've set this up for my mother in law who has macular degeneration. She is getting on well with it and seems happy. Previously, she struggled to make calls and send texts. She is now reconnected with the family. One snag - I purchased the full copy of this and related apps for messaging etc, but the phone seems to think I'm using the free version and adds an 'advert' on texts. I'll need to play around with the phone next time I see her (if I can prise it off her) :-)
