I just dont understand gearing . This app is divine I no longer have to know it tells me on all my bikes fixed and geared whether crankset or cogs will make a difference and by how much. I was thinking of changing both having read forums and now know what the gains are or not so saved the money and effort. Was surprised one of my changes would have made no change to speed a smaller crank arm. I am recommending it to all my friends. It's simple and informative even for me.
Good app, simple to use and visually appealing. It is not up to date with current trends in MTB: fatbikes, "plus" sized bikes and anything bigger than 2.35" tires are nowwhere to be found. I would strongly recommend that the developer add those "new" tires sizes (some of them have been around for over 10 years) so that the app keeps up with current trends in the bicycle industry.
Been looking for this. In the mid 70's it was all paper chart. I'm back and my how things have changed. Excellent app that allows you and everyone you share with to know whether you're a diesel or a dink. Diesel is back! Hey 20 somethings, at routine 80+- inches and 72+- cadence you want none of the old man and this app proves what map my ride already knows.
Was just tooling around in my man-cave and had to replace a worn-out front sprocket on my single speed. Downloaded the app to confirm my tune-up. Sure, the calculator can do the same thing, but this app is a lot more convenient! Easy to use to. When creating my own chart, it would reset after picking tire size and/or crank length. Can you include a magic gear calculator, ie gearing based on chainstay length, where a tensioner isn't necessary?!
Good app. This app gives you basic idea, what you can expect from your bike after gear ratio changes or tire change, or both. can be used to find close matches or exact matches between old and new gear ratios, or help you get some other data if used creatively with out-of-the-box-thinking. There are few minor notes to be fixed, but as a whole it is good app.
Usefull but not up to date with todays standards. Manually having to add common setups is not really an option/fix. Not only that but many tire circumferences are wrong, for example, its shows that a 26x2.25 tire is bigger than a 2.4 one...
Great app achieve what it was created for. Beautiful layout. My only complaints are Im not bicyclist so the wheel options do not accommodate my needs yet. Or if you could input custom wheel size ie. 10.5 x 3. Or maybe the option to edit overall circumference. None the less great app.
So handy and useful once setup on my moto g. You can select variants that apply to you and not even see the rest, and the multiple gear charts you can make are great if you have 6 bikes to set up. Well recommended. 5 star.
Actually used this as an aide to help me optimize my bike workouts for cadence and proper shifting. Well done.
Pretty good, except that it lacks a lot of tyre size options. Also noticed some crashing.
Like another reviewer, I was surprised the crank length doesn't make a difference in speed when cadence remains the same. Very helpful.
Great app! All it needs to be perfect is an update that takes into account that mountain bikes now have cassettes that can go up to 50. It's a bit frustrating that the size for the cassette on the app is way less than this. Otherwise, thanks for a great app!
Does what it says. There are a number of useful charts. I used this to convert my bike from a 3x9 to 1x9 and making sure I had the low range to climb.
An easy to use app that give me all the info I need to work out mine and the juniors roll out. Great job.
Very useful to figuring out gear ratios. I wanted to change my chainring and cassette, and I was able to compare gear ratios at different speeds and cadence before purchasing.
Very clear and easy to use Display of gearing in enough formats to please anyone. Wouldn't hurt to expand the tire selection a bit - 42x650 for example
edit :left to right, pixel titles on the phone screen, the gears would be on the otherside of the bike if you was looking at it the same way
Good apt but the gear ratio shows the speed increase rather than the torque increase which is usually how gear ratios are calculated, ie driven / driver
This is such a great calculator. It contains many options and features and best of all everything is arranged in such easy to use layout. This is by far better than all the web calculators I used (5). Thanks for making this calculator!
So good for changing up the gears in my SS to 10 speed and finding ratios for gear changes between hill and flat rides. 10/10
Badly needs update for current sprocket sizes. Edit: Thanks I didn't notice there's an option to add sizes for the current once we have on the market.
Awesome app makes easy calculations for you. Can even enter your own bikes information into charts section
Great app will give it 5* if you are able to add a rear 42t as mtb's have this big nowadays. But great app.
Seems to be missing a wheel size (650b) making it useless for me. It also doesn't include tyres for fat bikes.
Within 5 minutes I had the settings where I wanted them and calculated what cadence I would need for what target speed I wanted. Very useful app.
Installed app 5 minutes ago to calculate gear and cassette ratios. Those who say they can't use it for different casette/crank sizes need to stop blaming the app for their own stupidity and learn how to use it.
Great app! Takes the guesswork out of front /rear sprocket combinations. Interface is exceptionally slick.
Does what it says, looks good, has all the features I need. It has a save feature too, for printing or share. Can save a chart for each bike.
Only requests I would make would be the ability to click the lower center part of the first screen to cycle between ratio and gear inches (and whatever other metrics people might care about) and the ability to copy a bike profile on the third tab do I could compare a small change without having to type in every cassette cog again.
