The only reason I wouldn't give this a 5 star is that it all really should be in 1 app. BimmerCode and BimmerLink should be 1, and possibly be $10 less in total. That said, it's a good option which is pretty powerful and likely equal to the cost of 1 dealer diagnostic, if you have any DIY automatics knowledge of the systems it can interact with. Don't buy one without the other, in my opinion.
Very easy to use. I now have side mirrors that auto-fold when I lock using remote and got rid of the annoying initial seatbelt warning that comes up because I hit the start button before belting in. Also, the lighting control is unreal. Well worth the cost. I'lt's going to take a while to get the huge list of options customized to my preference.
Doesn't save changes. I verified that I am in the paid mode not demo. App won't save changes. I reached out to support and the issue is still unresolved
No support after sale. Switched phones and was getting an error when trying to enable purchase on New device. Tried contacting several times with no reply.
App is little scary, had code failure and head unit turned off and wouldn't come back on, had to frantically try restore over and over till it worked and turn back on, I thought I would need to take to Mini to fix it!! App connection needs to be made more reliable. Good App but till this issue addressed with something other than a warning, 2 stars!
Excellent, well worth the money. Shame you can't read or clear ECU codes but there are other apps for that.
Turn off that horrible ASD and add simple things that should have been included like closing the trunk from inside the vehicle or with the key. Totally worth the money!
Been good.. I payed 88$ for both sides of app. Had to reset my phone so now everytime I ask them they say don't understand. I had the app, don't care if it doesn't show it in purchase history. I sent the back logs showing I was all over everything.... I won't pay for it again. Thanks
Great app. I wish there were a really easy repository of info for expert mode coding, because a lot of the best stuff live in those menus. Overall, very much worth getting this app.
Finally got my modBMW adaptor, struggled to connect to the app. Eventually it connected, it read the ecus of my car but every control module i tried to read I just kept getting a pop up "error coding data could not be read".
Be careful! Things can go wrong, even when you do everything as instructed. Unfortunately, you may not know until you start the car again. Luckily, it seems that sometimes the connection between the car and the dongle and your phone may not always be ideal and can cause issues in coding your car correctly, but can be corrected with a restore. If all else fails, remove the dongle, delete the dongle from your phone, then repeat everything fresh to get a solid connection.
It's a good app. However, the restore function doesn't work on android and on certain changes, you need to restore to deactivate. After a long winded email trail of 2 word replies, they advised somehow the backup was lost. Tried to blame my use, but I can see all the restore points on my phone which I backed up. Kinda annoying that you can't restore. Seems to work better with iOS as you can chose the backup file.
Brilliant app! My gut feeling is that £30 is a lot for an app, but since purchasing it I've unlocked Bluetooth music streaming in my car, potentially saving hundreds of pounds in hardware. I've also added or altered several other functions on my car that have improved it considerably. The app is very easy to use for most functions, there are several forums that can guide you through expert mode settings (use with caution!) you will need a wireless obd2 adapter, £17 from amazon.
Works absolutely flawlessly on my 2011 Mini R56 with the CX Bluetooth OBD adapter. I was skeptical, but what I love is that is the default mode translates everything into English and has most of the standard function controls I wanted to modify (Comfort access and hot & cold bulb checking). In addition to being super easy to use, it also has access to the full set of configurable options, provided you speak German or have the translation handy for every conceivable setting you might want to ever change. It doesn't appear to have any functionality for VO modification, so you can't use it to enable a retro-fitted alarm, for example, but this is absolutely wroth the money for the full version (one time fee, not a subscription) and saved me days of trying to figure out NCS Expert. Thanks!
Great app. Used to use NCS manual programming on my old e series. I knew the process but was a pain from the wired connector through the manual process. This app with the veepeak Bluetooth is awesome. I've been able to program what I wanted quickly and make changes as I liked. I carry the adapter with me so I could program no matter where I am. Even offers expert mode for the options that aren't translated into easy mode. Highly recommended.
I can't believe how simple and quick coding with this app was. I put it off all this time and thought someone else had to do it for me. The one thing I wish the app could do is preview coding options for my chassis code before connecting to the vehicle. The demo mode shows all possible coding options but that's not very helpful.
This app is amazing. Must need if you own a BMW in my opinion. If you're a beginner at this just go on their website. Read about the adapters, supported cars, possible coding options depending on model, etc. Everything is as clear as could be. For newer model there is a specific adapter needed so beware of that but for F chassis and E chassis BMWs, my Veepeak adapter works great! I've only needed support once and response time was great (under 24h).
Awesome app so much access and supreme ease of use. Hopefully more coding options appear like elv counter reset. Simple common bmw noises. Otherwise app is uncomplicated.
Does the job, but just think the pricing is way too high for just simply turning on and off features. Maybe they should have a free basic access version with a few on/off switches and a paid version for the more advance options. I mean give us a break, it's not like BMW cars are cheap to start with!
Great app. Easy to use. My ONLY issue is that expert mode, to me, is like having direct admin access to ur car's modules, except that it's 100% in German. I did email the developer and they said basically what I just said. But absolutely worth the money! Pays for itself after one time of coding. I did a search after thinking bout it but there are screen translators and that actually helped a bit with expert mode, just to peak around. I wouldn't recommend expert mode unless u know what ur doing
Excellent app, probably the best for BMW coding. Loads of options and very safe to use (the chance of corrupting a module is zero in normal mode). A bit expensive, but that's a requirement for quality and there's no monthly subscription fee. Nonetheless it would be nice to see some missing modules added, such as FLE, as features like low beam welcome lights activation cannot be coded in FEM for LCI models.
Excellent app, worked for me 1st time and everytime without any issues. You need to have a genuine adapter! one of the adapters listed on the Bimmercode site otherwise you will have problems getting the app to work or function correctly. I would also advise that you are aware of what you are doing before using the app especially the Advanced coding. For me all the basic coding features were more then adequate for my needs, it worked on my 09 model E90 BMW, I have a genuine Veepeak Bluetooth.
The App works perfectly and "as advertised". Connection to BT adapter Uniscan2000 is stable and without problems. Coding in normal mode is very easy and self explanatory, pretty much "idiot proof". I've changed few things in "expert mode" too and everything went well. I'm very satisfied. Really good app.
most expensive app I have, but if you want all the awesome your BMW can give you it's totally worth it! The ONLY thing i want to request is a bit more info (maybe with photos) of what each thing does, and if there are extra expert mode codes i need to add to the base code. That being said, 90% of things you want to do, someone had done on YouTube. also I have the veepeak Bluetooth adapter. Update. Been having some issues connecting, it will connect, but i have to try a lot of times...
Amazingly versatile app. Let's you customise 100's of functions to your liking. E.g want the curteous lights to stay on longer at night? How about changing the angle the passenger review mirror dips on selection of reverse? Almost anything electrical or controlled by a module can be modified. You'll love tinkering with the options available
