Uses the ZXing ("Zebra Crossing") barcode scanning library. Supported barcode formats are: AZTEC, CODABAR, CODE 39, CODE 93, CODE 128, DATA MATRIX, EAN 8, EAN 13, ITF, MAXICODE, PDF417, QR CODE, RSS 14, RSS EXPANDED, UPC A, UPC E and UPC EAN EXTENSION.

Barcodes will not scan. Blurred and scanner noes nothing. I will uninstall it because it is useless.
This has become my main scanning app: it recognizes encodings very quickly, and it immediately gives you the output with a copy button right there, so you can do whatever you want with it. It also tells you the format, so that you can turn around and generate your own version of the same barcode, for scanning a store club card, for instance.
Very good scanning with non-interfering interface.

THHHANK YYYYYOU! It was so difficult to find a simple enough QR code scanner (you would think it's an easy task but then there are a whole bunch of other ones that have internal browsers. Why?) The flash button (I assume?) doesn't seem to work on my Xperia XZ2, but its basic function is worth recommending already.
A high quality, clean, attractive, simple, free, ad free, open source bar code scanner. Not only reads pretty much all bar codes, but can create them as well -- a really nice and handy touch! Thank you. :)
Tried a dozen bar code readers and Binary Eye was the first one that actually read Aztec type codes from medical units, even though the other apps also claimed to support the format. UI is nice, too. Only wish there was a manual shutter button to go "scan right NOW".
the only app that i found able to read qnd save binary data in qr code , greatttttttt , but the apps camera has very low quality and i need to capture image wity my phones camera app and inport the image ,for small qr code the built in camera works but for big ones it doesn't for big ones like qr version 30-40 , i some times need to capture 10 images untill it reads love it , better than all
The best barcode scanner. Super fast. Reads all types of barcodes and QR codes. No ads. Non-intrusive UI. It's a pity that play store never shows these great ad free apps when searching for barcode scanner apps.
As the heir apparent to ZXing's "Barcode Scanner", this is all the barcode scanner you really need. I encountered an issue and Markus was very responsive in resolving the issue in less than a day! Highly recommended!
Great! Feature request: "Start zoomed out every time you open the app." Zoom feature is great but often end up having to zoom out from a previous code.

It is the best opensource QRcode and Barcode scanner. It is free from ads and completely free of cost.
Takes minutes of trying to focus on a barcode before the app even recognizes it, and then when it finally does, it yields no results and asks you to look it up via a search engine. Results should be displayed within the app and not externally in a web browser.
I tried every single QR code scanner on F-Droid and this one is the only one that scanning an image file by sharing it using Android's share menu. Besides that, it also just looks the nicest of all the available apps.

A new heir to the throne to replace the original Barcode Scanner from the zxing team. Good options, nice export capability, and plenty of potential for integration with larger scanning infrastructure.
So many barcode scanners in the Play Store, but none have been as reliable as Binary Eye. Simple, easy to use and open source too!

Love that it is free of ads and open source. A little slow on the scan speed. I suggest others also try out Ad-free QR & Barcode Scanner by dimai, also ad-free, open-source.
Does its work. Open source, so hopefully checked for unpleasant surprises. Camera seems to take time to settle, but that could be a problem peculiar to my phone.

Consider it superior to ZXing Barcode Scanner. However they same same source but it gets updates frequently unlike Barcode Scanner which is not updated for quite a while.
Great app. Used to use the Xzing team scanner but that's not updated for quite a long time. Best of all, no adds, no trackers, OpenSource and available on F-droid store

unable to add or connect wifi via qr code with android9? bug? nice that this app can scan codes with light color on dark background as well. have had trouble with such inverted colored qr codes for example with other apps. thanks.
