The service is a very convenient way to move around in Madrid, despite being quite a pricy option. There are Bird e-scooters almost everywhere so it's very easy to find one. But the app needs some work. It's slow, painful to use and freezes so much the system asks to kill it. Stop running long tasks on the UI thread! So yeah: four stars service, three stars app until further improvement.

They are fun! I recently bought the bird flex. It rides way better than the rentals. They are expensive to rent .39 cents a minute in my area. My 2 complaints are: 1) Someone needs to charge the birds in my area more often (I don't like riding alone 😆). They usually only have 25/50% power. 2) The app needs some work. Mainly GPS.

Ive been using bird for 2 years now, am running the newest s22 on fresh install and its an absolute disgrace how slow and buggy the app has become, it barely functions. I typically spend 1-3 minutes waiting for the software to recognize im in a parking space...sometimes that means i might have well just walked!

So far my experience is ok. Plain ok. The way this bird company is really needs to change a few things. For one I'd like to pause my time and resume. It's a convenient way to get around but bird also charges way too much. And to be charged every minute is ridiculous.

First Time experience was a disaster the problem started at the beginning where the bird didn't start, the timer strated but bird didn't fly. I'm not a first time user of this items. The brakes were awful and I was unsure if they work properly as they sounded , at the end of the ride I gave feedback of it but nobody was in touch with me about the issue , the 3€ deposit was never refunded and their help page is a complete mess like a marry go round, I gave up at this moment never gonna use this

Made a HUGE MISTAKE riding these around with some friends. We didn't realize the cost and ended up with a large bill we couldn't afford and it was that easy. Never in my life would I thought it would cost almost as much as rent for using Bird for a few hours. NEVER AGAIN. I'm absolutely sick to the stomach of how easy it was to lose that much money and not even realize. It's cheaper to drive! I wish I never used it and really wish I could get a refund

Horrible app and equipement. Multiple issues with parking, while others can park in front of the metro, i have to park across the street and halfway up the block. Equipement isnt fixed or replaced properly creating a danger for rider. Im tired of their excuses and unethical business practices.

I love these scooters. They are fun and get me around campus fast. That said, the marketing techniques used are downright shady. When I first installed the app, I clicked on a button that I thought would set my default payment method to Google pay. Little did I know, the "default" charge of 20 dollars was selected, so instead of just paying for one ride, they had me hooked in for many more. It gets better. There's a setting that's enabled by default called balance auto update. Recurring charge?

Used to be 5 stars. Then they recently switched to a system where you're no longer allowed to pay as you go, but *must* maintain a balance on your account and you *must* sign up for autopay or you're not allowed to use the app. Again, to use the app, you need to authorize Bird to take withdrawals from your account to pay into a balance you may never use. The only way to use up the balance is to turn off auto-update during a ride which costs less than $5. It's brilliant (and incredibly shady).

Very scummy payment tactics. Defaulting to auto top ups, asking multiple times making the decline difficult to press, right next to the agree button on the purchase. Use Whizzscoot or Bolt instead, at least they don't employ scam tactics.

Misleading& makes you pay more than they advertise. I paid for a daypass thinking that would cover me to ride allday. Then when I tried to use the scooter for the 1st time, it makes me add at least $5 to my account on top of the $15 I already paid. This is apparently required, tho nowhere did it say that would happen before I bought the day pass. I didn't even end up using the full amount that I paid for the day pass because I hated the experience. Was refunded $5 but wouldnt recommend it still

I own a Bird One and the scooter is awesome but God, the app is terrible. I have to force close it during rides to get my battery level. No matter how many times I tap the headlight button - nothing happens. It shows it's been clicked but my little light of mine still shines. Sometimes the app won't lock or unlock the scooter pre or post ride. It was also be nice to have a speedo and trip since the One doesn't come with those and everything from Google play is just ad filled junk.

Pig. L. May 14, 2022

This is probably the worst app for scooters, everytime i've used it, the rides ends up costing 100-200 kr because it only locks the bike, it doesent end the ride, so i end up paying for several hours of a parked ride, which should have already ended. I know this blame might be on me, but it's never a problem with other apps/brands/companies..

The AP is fine, the scooters are really pitiful. Incredibly slow, so you are going slightly faster than walking in the road (can't ride on sidewalks). Cost the same as an Uber, but slower and much more dangerous. Bad experience all around. Will not use again. Would not recommend.

Sin. M. May 7, 2022

Spent a day using the bird in San Francisco. More than a month later they charged me $5 and send me a message "... you have recently been charged a $5 fee for not properly parking your vehicle 1 time(s) at a bicycle rack or your ride-end photo wasn’t clear enough for us to determine if you had. " Totally BS, just a money grab... if you had an issue with the parking or clarity of the picture, you should have addressed it at the time. Banking on people not noticing the charges.

Cha. B. May 4, 2022

Revised. Still not a huge fan of being forced to buy credits, even when you have paid for a day pass already, and some of the scooters needed maintenance, but customer service was quick to refund my credits, and so I updated my review. In Memphis there are " slow zones" that force you down to 5 mph. I found this to be very dangerous if you are following the rules and not riding on the sidewalks. Going 5 mph on the side of the road is scary.

I think it would be a challenge to find a worse e-scooter service in Frankfurt. In 1 week after downloading the app I've seen the following issues 1) extremely limited service area 2) when you leave service area the app won't alert you, but 10 minutes after leaving the area the scooter will start beeping in a loud noise, and you will have to drive back 10 minutes while listening to extremely annoying beeping,

Bri. R. Apr 29, 2022

BEWARE. They are stealing money. In November I used the service. I was double-billed. I thought it was cleared up at the time, and asked for my balance refunded. NO REFUND. I had problems with my phone and had to take some apps off. Now they tell me they don't have to return my money. Absolute SCAM.

Lor. S. Mar 26, 2022

Could've gotten an uber cheaper. I paid $40 for 90 min and 11 miles. The scooter would shut off randomly and make me walk. It didn't tell me the rate on the app it just said between 11 and 35 cents per min. And with it making me walk it guaranteed I would use it longer. The e-bikes were a fixed 15 cents per min and they don't shut off. I'll never use this again

kev. m. Mar 20, 2022

Originally gave a 1 star. Customer service sorted me out with the auto reload issue. I was notified that an auto reload took place that I somehow signed up for. Didn't read the fine print? Maybe... I want an easy app, especially as a first time user.

Jas. K. Mar 31, 2022

They continue to charge you if there is a problem with the scooter. Mine would not end the ride. I had to have an agent end it. I was charged for all of my attempts at ending the ride and the time it took me to contact support for them to end the ride. Basically garbage customer service. Customer service response"Unfortunately, I will not be able to process a refund for a complete ride." Even though they had to end the ride.

Ama. C. Apr 25, 2022

Prices charged are WAY higher than they claim the rates are before you ride. Check your settings before you take off bc the app automatically sets you up to "auto refill" your account with money as you ride. My $10 ride ended up being $60 before I even quit riding to see how much I owed. There is no way to get money back on broken scooters that don't work either, nor get your "leftover" money back from the app (everything is prepay and you have no idea how much you will need until the end)

Ben. K. Apr 13, 2022

It's a great service. But if you EVER go to Washington D.C, Don't be tempted to rent a bird. Almost the WHOLE District of Columbia is a No-Park zone. So it's a stress finding a parking spot without oweing extra money for a late fee.

Dan. L. Apr 26, 2022

Quietly removing the free reservation is quite a dark pattern you've applied. You've just removed the copy that mentions it's free, without indicating how much it'll cost nor how much it costs while the reservation is active. Suddenly afterwards you realize you've paid such an extra.

Mat. C. Apr 12, 2022

Terrible. Tried to get a group to ride but kept hitting walls. Had a card on Google Pay on file but was told insufficient funds. Got charged 3x more for a group trip than it would have cost for everyone to sign up separately. Don't try to use multiple users on one account.
