Birdays – Birthday reminder

The app quit working completely. I got a new Smartphone the end of November and I started having problems with the app right away. I could see birthdays if I went into the app but I wasn't getting notifications. Now, when I go into the app the screen is blank. All of the birthdays have disappeared. If someone can help me figure this out it would be great. I kept getting a pop up about optimization when I would go into the app. Not sure what to do about that.

So far so good, simple interface and easy sync with contacts' info. My main issue: When you edit a person's info in the contacts app, and later you open the app and choose import contacts, it doesn't change the edited data, just checks for new. It would be a nice change to automatic check. I have to delete the person from the app, so when contacts are imported, data are new. Last, a different photo for each month instead of per season would be a nice touch.

This app is exceptional! It does what it's supposed to do; nothing more nothing less. However, what makes it even more exceptional is the ability to opt out from ads FOR FREE! What an amazing developer you are! I turned off the banner ads because they were covering the last birthday on the list. If you fix that I'll happily turn them back on again to support you.

Great, until you have to switch phones. It doesn't transfer the birthdays over to the new phone. It SAYS the data can be backed up, but the backup doesn't work. It doesn't even have a sign in feature, where a person can just sign into their account on their new device. So you'll have to manually input every single birthday on your other phone. Which isn't worth it. Better to just download a different app that actually lets data be easily transferred over.

I had this app on my previous phone. It is wonderful. But, when I switched phones, it does not bring all the data along. So on the old device I made an .xml backup as it says in the settings and tried to bring it on to the app in my new phone. However, it is not working and I have lost all the data. If you can help recover my backup, you deserve 5 stars!!

An efficient app, simple to use, gives a good overview of coming bdays and I never forget any of them anymore (you can choose one or two notifications which is very helpful). Plus I changed phone recently and exporting the data from the old phone to the new one was extremely simple!

I'm using this app to not depending on Facebook, and probably most of the users are in the same situation. So, it should sync from social networks. Also, there's so much functionalities that it could have, like favorites alert, custom user alerts for buying gifts or organize parties, next week preview, national calendar (father's, mother's and Valentine's Day)... and so many others more complex stuff! The App is not bad, but it does the absolute minimum, so it's not 5 yet.

It's ok, it would be perfect with individual notifications. I use it to remind me to send gifts. But I only have one notification level for everyone. Some people live in my country, and some live overseas. I need different notification times for different people. And longer than two weeks!

Good app overall, but the ads could have been integrated in a better way. Sometimes, the ad covers the part of the content you are reading, and you cannot read what is behind ad and you cannot dismiss it. Four stars for this.

Great app, I like that is open source and I like that it's free to remove ads (that I didn't remove purposely because of how politely the author is going about it!). 2 rrquests: 1) I know you are working on Facebook sync, just adding my request ; 2) can you please add a way to show the next coming birthdays first? (eg next 30 days instead of current month view, or appropriate sorting in the All tab)

simple and well laid out. The only issue are the ads on the bottom tend to get in the way. My dad's birthday is in December and I could not see it because of the ad. I resolved this by adding New Years eve so all the relevant birthdays are viewable. Would give 4.5 if that was an option.

More or less it is ok, but I can't stand that because of ads I'm not able to see the last person in the list and press + icon. Also I getting annoyed that I can't change the pictures. Because of that I will look for another app.

Lightweight, simple and great feature of whose birthday on this day. However, can you please allow birthday sort so "today" is the top of the list, not the beginning of the year. I know current month is listed but no good until the first of that month. Otherwise, very professional.

App Worked perfect in my last phone..... But when I switched to current phone...... Importing contacts function did not worked.... So I had to re enter the data of everyone....... Also...... App Not working in my current phone......... Not showing notifications.... Due to some battery saver feature of MIUI i guess... Even I have done the necessary settings as I remember

Looked like it was going to be easy to use with a nice simple layout but the ad covered most of the "+" button. I don't mind ads in free apps but they shouldn't interfere with the interface.

Great app. I have no social media at all (other than whatsapp and email.. I don't believe they count!) so having a birthday prompt is very useful! User request: 2nd reminder option would be ideal e.g. 1st reminder 1 week ahead, 2nd reminder 3 days ahead.

I am disappointed that notification for a friend's birthday didn't happened today. The notification was turned on and was set for 8am. The tablet wasn't turned on until the afternoon. No notification happened.

Great app. Bad export function. Could not transfer birthdays from one smartphone to another even if export function is supposed to work.

I really like this app because you have a recover option. But I have one problem. Before my old phone broke I saved my birthdays with this app. Now I want to recover these on my new phone but it won't work. Can you help me with that? When I load the xml file it does nothing and without a message of failure.

There are some problems with font color. SOME texts are black on dark background, while others are white, as they should be. Apart from that, everything is good

Works great! I'd love to suggest adding a "passed away" date option. I keep my pets in here as well, but don't necessarily want them to keep aging or delete them after they have passed.

Good app. Easy to use. Wish I could create notification groups for different people. Them I could have different notification schedules for more important contacts than just casual aquantences.

It's a shame that the app fail at its particular purpose: to send reminders for birthdays. Why require battery optimization turned off when every other app I use (and have notifications) don't need it? Could you fix it?

The notifications on my phone are not consistent. I use them the remind me when a birthday is coming a few days in advance to get a card out in the mail, but more often than not I never get the notification. Makes the app fairly useless for me.

The app started changing dates of people's birthdays on me so It would remind me that it was people's birthdays the day before or the day after and it cause a lot of issues with some people and it wasn't very good for someone who doesn't have a good memory, like me, who relies on stuff like this for reminders of when these important days are.

The app is great and everything, but the import function doesn't work (keeps crashing), And you don't seem to be answering any of my emails about it. I'll change to 5 stars when it's usable

This app cannot import its own xml file that it has created via its export function, meaning - you have to enter e.v.e.r.y. s.i.n.g.l.e. name and details manually again!!? Hell no you must be braindead. Message to the developers of this app:::: you need to scrap a function from the menu if IT DOES NOT WORK, ok? Either fix the function or scrap it, this is misrepresentation. EDIT TO ADD:::: No response from developers so I uninstalled. Zero stars.

(1) Can I change the opacity of the widget - if not, why not? (2) Error given when trying to import the xml file it created. (3) People have multiple devices. Either allow them to sync, or fix the faulty import/export features. Why would I give you permission to my contacts if you only need the birthdates? You think we're stupid? Now please respond to your clients' needs/requests or risk losing them while you tarnish your own reputation as a serious developer/programmer.

Excellent app. One small problem is that when I refresh the birthdays with import function, the dates I put in wrongly before will not disappear.

Bottom ad closes last record and button "new". Can't see the last birthday record in December, useless. Pls add showing contacts starting from current month, not only from January.
