The app has extensive content rendering pay apps obsolete. It's nice looking and has an easy to use layout but it has two major and two minor flaws. You can't sort downloads by language (major) or view certain downloads (major) like books or maps. You can't download more than one extension at a time (minor) making it time consuming and tedious to build your study suit. If fixed it's 5 stars.
This is a good app. But there is a serious problem. Every time I open it, the app keeps telling me that no module(s) installed. I had delete and reinstalled it, and re-download some of its library. At first it runs smoothly, but later when I opened it again the same problem occured. Please help to fix it. I like this app because the features is good.
Good visual layout, but 2 serious problems: it always starts showing notes and I have to toggle it off; and I can't view books I downloaded, e.g., the Triglotta. Also, there's no history button or function for the last book viewed. Update: they fixed the toggle notes issue. But I found another problem—in portrait viewing and Commentary Assist mode, the commentary column displays clipped text on the right.
Wanted to love it. I've been looking for a great Bible study app for my chromebook. This isn't it. There is a Strong's Concordance, sort of, but it's difficult to use. The Bible is cumbersome to move through and impossible for notetaking. I have extensive computer experience but this was impossible to navigate in any manner. What a shame. Uninstalling. Edit. I have a 2 in 1, so certainly not a "desktop". It works as a tablet. However, no note taking possibility makes it unusable.
New phone with Android 10 instead of the 11 I was used to and the app actually asked for permissions and didn't have any issues. I see how it's supposed to work now and it's my new favorite tool for Bible study went back to old phone and manually added permissions and it works well there too. Not sure why it didn't ask. Love all the repositories and options for tools. Love the view options for having side by side comparison in the app. Not sure what more I could want in a tool. Great job guys.
This is the most un-user friendly app I have ever used. Nothing is logical or user friendly and the developers would be wise to mimic the Apple iOS version. I downloaded two commentaries and wanted to view them. Touching a verse might show the commentary, nope. Try opening the menu and selecting what looks like one of there column selector, nope. You have to select a verse, open the menu, and choose "word study". Commentary assist works but it doesn't allow me to change the commentary.
Was great, now unusable. The app opens for literally 2 seconds and closes. I uninstalled all apps except this one and problem persists. I uninstalled, restarted phone then reinstalled app and problem persists. LG Stylo 6 EDIT: Berean Interlinear Bible module causes the crash. I have to remove it with file manager. If I reinstall it and make it active (view it), the problem repeats. Can this be addressed?
Why did you change the left side panel to need to now push on top and then get into it? And the beginning image is kinda unecesseary as well..... -edit- Lost my books with the update... And thereby the ESV and the rest. I wish I had the old version before the top bar came about. Not sure why the programmer want to ruin it all.
This is a magnificent app in terms of the variety of tools it provides. It is particularly useful for textual criticism and understanding the manuscript variants for any given passage. The developers are to be highly commended for their work on this.
I downloaded this because I have Xiphos on my linux pc and wanted sword modules on my phone. This app (so far) works great for bibles, commentaries, word study and devotionals. However, wanting to read modules under "General Books" like Hodge's systematic theology or Calvin's institues, it's impossible. After downloading I cant find anywhere to read them, there's clear sections for everything else except "General Books". I haven't tried downloading maps or anything.
I also have the problem with one bible & went to library section. All that came up after searching was: No installed resources have updates available. New study resources can be added by first selecting an installation source at the top There are no sources! Nothing in the drop down menu gave me anything.
"Bishop: The Swords Project" It's a blessings for me and to our family. We learned a lots of wisdom and knowledge. Almost complete books and references. Sufficiently supplied our needs for spiritual study and learning the will of God.
This is a great application and my thanks for all of the work put into this application! Not installing? Got it installed. I had to install from the phone for some odd reason the PC browser glitches every other application I try to install.
All it says is "connecting to server" and it never does. I gave one star only because that is the only way I can tell you my experience with this App. I have internet access and no modules are downloading.
It keeps needing to download the same stuff everytime you open the app. Which takes time. It has to re load each book
After downloading modules, it stopped working, Everytime I try opening it, it just crashes half way through. Please I need a solution!
I really like this app Side by side Bible verse abd commentary. But recently it starts to shut down and unable to stay open. I suspect when Android updates keeps c9ming, this app stops working.
This app has great potential, but right now the navigation is clunky. I like the Mss evidence capabilities but the actual use is akward.
There is many good tools but that is hard to use for usual user. Bad ui/ux. But that worth to keep worj at the project. Good lack!
Brilliant Bible App. Quite impressed with it. Will spend much time learning about our Lord and his Word. Thank you developers
Very good app. Will be great with a zoom feature to zoom in and out.
Great Bible. Cross References will have been great with side notebook.
This application only has one Bible version which is the kjv . It has no Access to many versions like the original sword application.
I uninstalled it, i could not use even more. It only shows "nothing to display, no installed module yet"
great..am still getting acquainted with it, how can I set one Buble reading panel without another version or a commentary if I just want to read one bible at a time.
Tons of Bibles in many languages, all free. Many uniquely strong features
Very nice app, with several modifiable features.
I could not view for example the Smiths Bible Dictionary?...After you get that, how do you view it?..Can not find any way of accessing it..
This is a great open source app that is still development. I appreciate the work that has been done to improve it.
Looks good. The interface is not material design but is relatively intuitive. However, is it possible to install a module manually? How? Where are the files stored on the storage? There's no /sdcard/sword/ folder on my phone. Creating the folder is not enough. You have to give the app the storage permission which it doesn't ask for. Another glitch is that some Bible modules seem to use different fonts for different words. Finally, I would love to be able to disable red lettering.
