Bitdefender Carrier IQ Finder
Designed to help mobile carriers solve customer-support and infrastructure issues, the application has been discovered to systematically syphon out location data, keystrokes and other aspects of e-mail and SMS conversations.
As Bitdefender values users’ privacy and the right to informed consent, we have developed Bitdefender Carrier IQ, a low-footprint detector that can reveal the presence of the Carrier IQ package on the personal device and, if found, whether it has been enabled by the carrier.
The Bitdefender Carrier IQ finder is merely a diagnostic tool that prompts the user about the presence or absence of the Carrier IQ package. The package is deeply buried in the device firmware, so it can be uninstalled only through special privileges on the smartphone.
Please note that the Bitdefender Carrier IQ finder does not substitute for a mobile antivirus and consequently, will not detect malware. For a fully featured security solution, please install Bitdefender Mobile Security (available on Android Market).

It detects if you have carrier IQ, and if its activated, if you read the app details, it shows clearly what the app can and cannot do.
Good. Apriciate how bitdefender products behave with no nonsense products that do the job without slowing down my phone or annoying me once install.
Also doesn't give any details. I am using a ciq free rom (verified). Other ciq locater apps show better results than this
Installs small and quick runs fast and easy and detected in my case no problem. App works fine. Just hope it was correct.

Not detected on my htc desire s with android 2.3.5 with sense 3.0 stock rom.bitdefender has very good security solutions.
Does exactly what it says, checks for Carrier IQ and doesn't require any permissions. Doesn't get any better than that.
Tested Positive for carrier iq. Disappointing
It says it can't be found. I upgraded to the trail version to try fix the problem nothing changed
Who says tmo customer service say their network removed it? Somebody confused or lies avoiding to reference information. Two apps are detecting ciq on my t-mobile brand phone.

Quick and easy to install, and fast to just check if you have the Carrier IQ installed. Plain and simple.
nothing found on, Verizon Samsung galaxy NOTE4 SM-N910V. this pleased me! although I did just notice that the app has not been maintained since 2013, I'm officiallY nervous that this isn'T detecting everything.
Not found on my Verizon Motorola Droid Mini. I love that this doesn't ask for permissions! Once again great work!
Says not found - hope that's true. Going to need more privacy protections and heavy fines vs corps to keep us protected.

However did not inform me weather or not it has been activated so I'm almost just as much in the dark as I was that's a bit frustrating when in your description of your app it states that will inform you whether or not Carrier IQ has been activated

At least bit defender takes the time to respond to some of these reviews, and they answer the phone in reasonable time. Try getting that from those other guys...

Very simple app. Just launch it and it scans your phone for traces of Carrier IQ. Takes about 2 seconds.
I kind of got worried when I first heard about Carrier IQ and what it does because I use my phone to access my bank account. Best app of it's kind.

Though the Lookout CIQ detector app did not find CIQ on a T-Mobile Samsung SGH-T989, this app did. Thank you, Bitdefender. UPDATE: After rooting, re-flashing, freezing, etc., this app reported that CIQ was not found. Just great.
I see a complaint; but i already have the AVM software. Do get your heads out of the darkplace and play server catch up! Update 8.01.2017, not even seeing the bloody thing scanning. AT&T 4G LTE Paygo device. Romania having a problem?
