This is a clone app of Bitdefender Mobile Security & Antivirus. Netgear has rebranded it under their NetGear Armor 1 year subscription. The mobile app itself is not secure and cannot be locked with a PIN to protect a criminal from going into the app and disabling all of it's features. Once you login once with your NetGear e-mail/password, it will stay logged in forever (even after rebooting your phone). Additionally, if you ever do log out of the app, when you log back in, all of your settings are erased and you have to reconfigure the entire app manually. Clearly nobody ever tested the app and it's disappointing to see no Quality Assurance was ever conducted. It shows how much they care about your security. I am very disappointed by the app and they try to force you to disable your Secure Boot (encryption) on your device in order for their Web Protection feature to function, which makes my device even more vulnerable. Also, 200MB/day VPN is not a good deal. Make it unlimited or don't offer it at all.
Fair app. But many numerous issues that detract from the useful features. One of them being the app lock. Most of the time it will freeze up when you launch an app that is protected by it, and you cannot log in to gain access to the app. It became so annoying that I finally disabled the app lock feature.
Great Protection but not as user friendly with setup and upgradinging the service should be made more easy to do from the app itself. Also the other options available to increase your protection should be outlined and defined more clearly in one consolidated area in the app itself which also should be more easily accessible or at least have a quick link that directs you to such a spot that's not intertwined with The Stand Alone Bitdefender App options. Give NETGEAR Armor a BitCentral
Has worked great for me. Have it installed in all my devices. Bit of a learning curve, but anyone can master it quickly. Seems to catch more threats than the top security software -used other name-brands - Bitfender is just as good if not better. Have been using personal computers since 1993. Works great with Netgear Night Hawk! Highly Recommend.
Pricing and performance were pretty decent. I feel like the app and functionality was pushed to the customers before it was ready. It did improve some over the months i was using it though. The portal access to armor admin interface was a subsystem of the orbi app. Also it took a toll on network stability. Required factory reset of Router/Satellites or they would reset themselves frequently after armor roll-out.
I have installed on both laptops and both mine amd my wifes phone and it's only recognizes one of each. Had randomized Mac address and switched that and ip to static. Has features im unavle to utilize. Probably won't renew next year.
I renewed my subscription for 50 devices online and it said it would send me a confirmation email that I never received. It did install on my phone and computer but it's asking me for an activation code (in the email I presume). Also, bc I previously had the app several of the items connected to the router are the same but aren't included in scanning of this new "total protection" software. It shows them connected but last scan date was 4/23. Support told me to click the download link??????
Got notice that Bit defender would expire at end of day so I subscribed again for a year. Got email back that said I got Bit defender for another year. Later, I got a note that bit defender had expired and to put in code. I never received a code. Sent email detailing problem to bit defender with no answer. Also opened case with PayPal on problem. For a security software company you think that the process of renewing would be flawless.
This app is useless. I purchased the Bitdefender subscription after the complimentary subscription ended. There is no way to associate this app with your nighthawk router without netgear technical support. And by the time the complimentary bitdefender subscription ends; guess what? So will the complimentary tech support as well. And you will have to purchase additional tech support just to add bitdefender to your router.
Another awful service from Netgear that does not work. The anti theft feature says it locks the devices but the devices never lock. This is typical for netgear to push out and sell you trash that doesn't work. Their tech support is a complete waste of time. You will spend weeks with them giving you the run around on a product that never works. I want a refund for the Netgear Armour security. Their router is going in the trash and being replaced. I'm never buying a Netgear product again.
Buggy out of the box! Got a New Netgear router and it comes with 90 Bitdefender Armor. As soon as I installed it, things started to go south. Then the App Lock hijacked many of my apps....don't know what's been lost yet. Currently assessing. Taking the router back too! For the price it was, I simply expect better.
If you havent started the netgear armor yet, DONT! Netgear ransoms internet access until you purchase a netgear armor subscription, and then frequently interferes with everything! It has an internal speed test that measures at 300 mbps, but actual output will be closer to 80. Customer support is nearly non-existent. Please, just pay attention to the overwhelmingly bad reviews!
I just got a new Orbi mesh system on 5 Feb 2020 and the free trial of this started on its own. It slowed my network down to almost nothing. I sent for help with customer support and got nothing from them. I hate this and Netgear Armor. They both are useless and want you to pay a lot for less service that I get from Norton.
Paid for this and still get the expired notification. I have called multiple time and they just keep saying it's not their problem. This subscription is just theft and nothing more. Still haven't got a refund either. Customer service worse than Comcast and that is saying a lot.
This works really well and has multiple computer support through their website. I noticed people complaining but it's because they don't understand its in conjunction with netgear armor site. I love the multiple computer reports and coverage.
I installed this as part of a netgear router setup. It has told me that I have a phishing that has been blocked every other minutes, all day and night. Gives no indication how this is happening, especially when I am not even using the phone. Let alone offer any tips or advice about what I should do to prevent this in the future. It never gave me access to the full account, despite the the so-called included membership provided by Netgear REMOVE REMOVE REMOVE
I got the router with the protection (netgear armor) which keeps my home safe. it was a nice suprise to see I can also install Bitdefender protection on all the devices that I have, with this deal. I like this mobile security app: slick desing, cool features and it gives me peace of mind - that my device is safe. NETGEAR Armor is really a sweet deal.
Difficult to install on multiple devices. Unlike other security suites, the application does not install with user ID and password. This app is not installed on my new Samsung A12 5g, although Google says it is. Poor customer service. I do not recommend.
Bitdefender is integrated with the Netgear Orbi. The Android app is okay but I can't give it more than one star because of a huge flaw. The app uses a rating system and it keeps downgrading my security rating because I haven't subscribed Circle for Parental Controls. Netgear offers another option for parental controls, which I use, but the app doesn't recognize it. I'll revise the rating if it's ever fixed.
Tech support doesn't exist. Slowed down my home network when I enable it on my Netgear router. Android app needs to add Microsoft Edge browser to the protection list. App crashes because of browser protection on Chrome.
2021 One year later Took a full year to get a subscription. I hope it's worth it. 2020 one year ago Crazy app doesn't want me to subscribe I guess. . purchased what I thought was this but it was some other version of Bitdefender. It says it accepts 2checkout and paypal but only accepts 2checkout but 2checkout times out. Support is via chat is waste of time. Pure time guzzler. I wanted to give this a chance but it's proving to be a pain trying to get on board.
UI needs updating very basic layout, most of the options don't allow you to make changes just give you information on weekday it does.
Nighthawk app will not allow me to sync my new Netgear Armor subscription to the app. Keeps showing "expired" After my trial subscription expired, and i renewed the subscription. After, 7 hrs of calls 4 Tier 1 teps and 1 Teir 2 rep still not synced....#frustrated #nowirelessaccess #poorappand servicesupport
I like everything about this app, except the fact that its pretty much exactly the same thing as bitdefender central, without several key features. For the love of god, please add the ability to auto connect to VPN when on an open internet connection. In addition, please add the ability to quick connect to vpn from the button menu in the notification pane on Samsung/General Devices. We pay the same amount as a normal bit defender subscription, we deserve such basic and crucial features.
