Bitdefender Parental Advisor
Please log in the application with your Bitdefender Central account. If you don’t have an account, you can sign up directly from the application or you can login with your old MyBitdefender account.
To use Bitdefender Parental Advisor, Go to Bitdefender Central at https://central.bitdefender.com/parentaladvisor. Create your first child profile and select the devices your child uses.
You can easily deploy Bitdefender Parental Advisor for Android directly from Bitdefender Central:
1. Create a new child profile2. Choose to install Bitdefender Parental Advisor on a new Android phone or tablet3. Insert the email address where you want to receive the installation link4. Go to the device and click on the link
After the install, you will be automatically logged into the application with your Bitdefender Central account. You can see the device on your child’s profile by clicking Edit in the card options menu. Select the device from the list to start monitoring.

I am a bitdefender user. I paid for the annual subscription. I thought your parental app would be better than google family link. I was wrong. 1. It can be uninstalled easily 2. It can be deactivated by turning off accessibility and using battery optimizer to not run it in the background. 3. It doesnt work - i tried setting it up on 2 gadgets. Both screentime and daily usage feature did not work. Even the locate feature doesnt work. I tried this on android phones running on android 8 and 9.
I wish I could give more stars but this app has many limitations and the biggest issue is that it sometimes works st just doesn't work. It's a great idea but not very well done. I would be happy to rate it higher but you should really work on its reliability first then adding more features to it... Downgrade to 1 as it just gets worse basically useless.
Great Antivirus but Parental Control had been always suffering... The latest break being not able to see in the Android Central app (parent device) the app names of my kid's device, although you may select each app and block/allow works! Pitty for the Bitdefender brand that the Parental Control had always problems... Would be great for allocating the resources to fix the Parental Control app at the level of the Antivirus.
Parental control does not work. Antivirus great. Their other stuff is amazing but this isn't. You just end up blaming your kids for turning stuff off or fiddling with it when it's the bugged software. Customer support tried to help but back to the same problem again. I paid extra for this software also but it looks like they don't bill me for it anymore which is a good thing because it didn't provide what I was paying for.
It simply doesn't work. I was told to uninstall and reinstall, no difference. Clearly there is a significant problem with this app. If you want to protect your child I cannot recommend using it. Very disappointing. I have worked in IT for many many years and if I produced something this flaky, I would pull it until I got it properly fixed.
This app is so annoying. Every time I open an app, parental control pops up and doesn't let me access it. The only apps I can open on my phone without this happening are phone, messages, settings and camera. It is impossible for me to check my email, play a game, do homework, or even to check a math problem on my calculator. It is so dumb and even blocks some websites that I try to visit. It just keeps fighting against my phone. I mean, I can't even set a timer or check my calendar with this thing!
Bad experience... After I manage to understand all the functions (schedule, time per day to use apps, etc.) I notice that my son is still using the phone (Youtube, etc.). I wrote to Bittdefender 3 months ago, they answered that is a bug (?!!) and they will fix this immediatly... These days, my son is using the phone in the midle of the night!!! I want my money back!!!
I've dropped ScreenTime for this one, as I've now bought a year's subscription to the BitDefender Anti-virus, and I'm not really impressed. It won't let you configure whether individual Apps can be used (I'd like my kids to have access to Excel and Gmail after hours, but not PowerDirector). My son has figured out that he can turn every day into Saturday by changing the clock and getting two hours instead of one a day. This is installed on Windows laptop, Lenovo tablet and Motorola smartphone
App absolutely drains battery, passively uses maybe 30-40 percent of battery when device is used normally. Drains almost 10% an hour with device untouched in sleep mode. Decent security, but bad for the device you put it on. Also crashes frequently, had it less than a week and already had reinstall it on all linked devices.
I really don't hire about the poor reviews but with my little experience with the app, I believe it's pretty decent but has room for improvement. Eg The app should be able to show the battery percentage and also there should be three options for the app.. Block, allow and to schedule the usage ie the app should be allowed to be used for 1Hr or between certain time duration.
O M G. I've never expected an app from Bitefender to perform so horrifically bad. Doesn't work, blocks all apps regardless of selection. Had to uninstall, couldn't make it work. To bad I've renewed my Bitdefender Total Security 5 devices subscription for this year. Now I have regrets.. Should've gone with Kaspersky.
My daughter's phone locked down completely to the point where it won't even turn on. I tried to factory reset the phone and it wouldn't work. Then I gave it to a specialist and they didn't know what was going on, and then I returned the phone back to the apple store to see if they could fix it. After the specialist took a look at it they knew exactly what was wrong when they tried turning it on they found the app had it glitches and they ended up going in factory setting it their store.👎👎👎👎
App needs a valid Bitdefender subscription to work. Might as well said that from the beginning (not leave the impression it might be free)! Worst of all, it gets stuck when trying to connect you to Bitdefender Central. I used to be a big fan of the antivirus but this app (sad to say) is just a big waist of time.
Haven't been able to get this app to work properly on any of the four Android devices that I have. I have removed (huge pain) and reinstalled several times without luck. What a huge disappointment. I will not be renewing my subscription because of it.
We installed this app on my daughter's tablet. The app rendered the tablet useless. Despite the fact that I marked play store and chrome as allowed, my daughter could not open them. Secondly, when I wanted to install the Google classroom app I couldn't get the play store open. I had to assign the device to myself in order to be able to install the app. This was after spending 20 minutes chatting with tech support. This app is terrible.
I have opted for bitfender total security which expires. On 2022. But my parental conyrol is not working . When ever i try to set limitation on device . A popout msg comes to subscribe for antivirus but 2 month earlier it wad working fine i was setting up app and website limitation and was working fine. But currently not working.
Like many others my experience of this app is that it simply DOES NOT WORK. When installed it blocks every application; including the system launcher, regardless of whether or not the application has been allowed or screen time is permitted. I've had to uninsall it completely from all devices just to allow my children to use their devices. Parental control is a highly contentious issue anyway, the behaviour of this app has only served to re-inforce my son's view that his parents should have no right to determine what, when, how and where he may use his devices. This has set my efforts back by at least 3 years. Until I read that a flawless installation can be achieved without the intervention of a support technician, [and I have yet to read a review of a successful assisted installation!] then I shall keep well away and will not be renewing my AV and security subscription next year.
This app simply doesn't work at all. I have two kids, android phones, the app doesn't have any effect in changing daily time limit or in scheduling time to use the phones. I set (on both kids phones) daily time limit or schedule time, but there is no effect.
What a sh*tshow. I'll agree with other reviewers who can't believe otherwise well-reviewed security software could have such a piece of junk for parental controls. Even the "help" feels like it was written by 16 yr olds. Bitdefender, freaking get it together or don't offer the feature.
Unable to remove the parental control app from the phone. Have followed the clear instructions from the support people. What hasn't worked is being able to uninstall the app from the child device. (It is set so that the child cannot uninstall the app and if you had scheduled use times on control central, phone not useable at those times) Don't do it!
Works very well for me. I did set [Bed time] and a daily limit and it does the job. If not working as expected after you change time limits, try a restart of phone or lock/ unlock the screen.
downloaded the app to test if it worked well. No only did I'm not block the sites in the categories that I attempted to restrict, but it has now become nearly impossible to remove from my device even when I log in as admin on Bitdefender. I would expect it to be difficult to uninstall, but if I log in as an administrator I should have full control.
Locate option not working for both my kids devices (Samsung s8 and an s9). Permissions and settings are correct and all other functions work but geolocate and safe areas are the most critical features for me.
I love the Bitdefender suite of products. However, this one simply doesn't work. Not sure why, but the connectivity rate of our tablets seems to be about 20%. That is... The tablet seems to have either not controls set, or are locked out about 80% of the time. I wish they could fix things. But after 2 months of struggling, I'm uninstalling.
