BitRebel

The world has become a prison... you must escape! Can you survive long enough to find your way out of this hellish 8bit dystopia?
This is a simple and addictive shoot-em-up game with a top-down (birds eye view) perspective. BitRebel is inspired by the legacy of 8bit classics from the arcade era. To bring the classic arcade experience to Android, the touch-screen based controls are simple: double-tap to move, hold down to shoot. No awkward D-pads or virtual joysticks. The player guides himself around obstacles for frustration-free movement.

The play experience may remind you of the first Legend of Zelda meets Hotline Miami, but don't expect anything old school from this fast paced action title. If George Orwell was to design a game for Nintendo Entertainment System, it might look like BitRebel! This completely free indie game is yours to explore!

Hope you enjoy the game!

The kill-suityou are wearing seems familiar to you. A small child is in the room. He also seems familiar, but you cannot recall his name. Suddenly, you hear the loud wailing of sirens. I think that this game, could possibly be a new beginning for the rebirth of 8 bit shoot-em up's, its very well programmed, great movement, and a smooth, somewhat tricky sometimes, but well balanced for a good time! I think if you like NES, You Will Enjoy This Game!

I am a huge fan of the old classic games. But, this is about impossible to control or see. If you can tweak it better like Hotline Miami, then it will be a five star game.

Hindered by an odd control-scheme, but picks up the ball with a mild challenge and interesting gameplay.
