black

The sequel to my 'yellow' and 'red' games is here!
Can you make the screen black in 50 levels?
Each level has its own logic.

Do you need help? Use the light bulb button that will appear after a while in the top right of each level to get a hint. There are multiple hints for each level.
With the premium unlock in-app you will not get ads before the hints.

A Bart Bonte / bontegames puzzle game.

Great game, as all others in the color series. My o ly gripe is that some puzzles are not puzzles, just "mini games" that require no logical thinking at all. A few of the actual puzzles are not very intuitive, but still doable - the final level is my favorite by far - very ingenious.

I have given it 5 stars for originally. It's very different and definitely not what I was expecting. I do feel compelled to finish the game, so it does keep interest. This is my first time playing this developers games, and I'm sure about checking out the others next. Bugs: I'm only on level 15 or so. What has slowed me down is that apparently I'm too good at making the screen black and sometimes it's stuck on a black screen permanently, forcing me to have to hit my home button and restart the game. Luckily progress saves well so it starts me where I left off. This app behavior began at level 9 and once after an ad when I requested a hint.

I played the whole series so far and I was impressed to see new individual puzzles all the time. The graphics are simple and not distracting, what I really like. One ad per hint is completely fine. The game is a bit short, but it doesn't get repetitive. I'm looking forward to see more unique puzzles, maybe you could use hardware features, like rumbling, motion control, etc. to make more puzzles.

Another fantastic addition to the series! My only complaint was that one of the last puzzles had finicky controls. You would try to move a block, but the block next to it would get moved instead, which forced you to restart the puzzle. Still, one minor flaw out of a million great features is amazing! I look forward to your next game! (What'll it be, Blue? Green? I can't wait!)

I completed the 48 levels of this game over the course of 4 hours with a winning combination of a little bit of curiosity and pattern finding. If you like to explore, the game is easy. I had 3 levels where I even needed to use hints and that was because I could not figure out the mechanism to manipulate the puzzle. Only ads you see are when you need hints and the majority of ads made no noise. 5 stars for conscientious ad placement and well designed puzzles!

Overall, it's a good puzzle game with a simple goal but a difficult variety of ways to accomplish such goal. Half the time I would understand neither the puzzle nor the clues and would just keep tapping until it worked. There's enough levels for slow, casual gaming or a medium-length marathon. Good luck figuring it out! My biggest complaint would be the weird ads, not all of which were entirely appropriate, but that may be beyond developer control.

A clever little game, took me roughly 30/40 minutes total to complete. The design is minimalistic but works great. Would recommend to anyone. First game I've played in a while that doesn't shove ads in your face, they're optional for anyone that does happen to need a little hint with one of the puzzles. Well done with this one. Oh, and the soundtrack is nice too, doesn't get annoying and is just laid back.

Great game! I loved how you only saw ads when getting hints. The only thing I would complain about is some controls, on certain levels, didn't really match the flow of the level. For example, one of the levels would have a button on the left, but that button would make the moving object go right. I found myself guessing with the controls sometimes. However, this isn't a massive issue, as I managed to complete the entire game. I will definitely keep this installed, hoping for more levels!

Simplistically beautiful, 'Black' has surprisingly intuitive controls given the nature of the game coupled with the fact that you are given little in the way of guidance. Which makes for an interesting dynamic as you play: do I swipe here? Tap? Both? Deceptively simple in theory yet satisfyingly difficult enough to give you problem solvers out there a run for your money. Black definitely doesn't seem as dry and repetitive as other puzzle games in this already over saturated market, and I'll definitely be checking out Bart Bonte's other titles if this installment is anything to go by. Great job guys! Keep up the good work, I'll be keeping an eye out for you in the future. =)

Anyone who has played the other colour games (red and yellow) should know what to expect at this point - and Bart does indeed deliver again. Some puzzles are harder than others, some can be solved even without realizing the underlying mechanics through luck and persistence. This might be a sign of poor puzzle design, but a few such instances are not enough to spoil the rating.

This was a great puzzle game to refresh the left side of my brain! :D I really enjoyed the simplicity of the graphics and the music was a great touch (it helped maintain my patience)! Also, im sorry to the developers for all the comments where people express their frustration, because they do not understand the intent of a puzzle game. Hopefully they find one they like because they are in my opinion a great way to exercise your brains ability to apply unique patterns in unique situations. :)

Highly recommend. I LOVE these color games by Bart Bonte! (actually, I've enjoyed all of his games--he really knows how to make them!) There's only ads if you need hints, which is extremely generous, This is the kind of game you can pick up and play a few levels when you have a few moments, perfect for busy people. Ok, theoretically you can put it down after a few levels...I myself could not and played till the end because it's just so much dang fun! And I love the zippy music, as always (but if YOU don't, you can mute it). Thanks for the fun game! I look forward to the next color!

This app reminds me of mystery boxes you try to unlock and there is no obvious method to do so at first. It's surprisingly really fun. However, there is one reason I'm giving it 4 stars and that is because the resolution is quite poor. It's very apparent with some of the diagonal edges in some of the games. If they looked more smooth and clean, easy 5 stars.

It's the first time I actually wanted to write a review for a game. For a one-man team. This game was very fun, amazing and some of the puzzles even required some thinking (the one with the cubes with arrows on them gave me a bit of a hard time lol) but it was a fun experience! The hints were helpful, some more than others and the only ads that were, were the hints. Albeit short, but sweet. Keep doing what you're doing man, waiting to see more games from ya! Kudos

In a time where games all seem like they've been played before, like they have nothing new to offer, or even that no one really cared when making them, "yellow", "red", and now "black" all stand out. The developer of this game has created a unique, identifiable puzzle game style that's so enjoyable. The entire experience from the puzzle design to the music is spot on and I always find myself wishing for more. Thank you for trying. Thank you for bringing us something refreshing. Please continue

From the moment you enter the app it's like an entire spectacle. Simple concept but the ambiance is just amazing. I haven't felt the need to leave a review on an app in a long time but the way this game makes you feel is just something else. Simple concept but great and unique execution. I wish the riff with the vocals was a real song. Great stuff.

a very beautiful, diffucult yet simple game! I loved the difficulty and I would love more games like this. I would suggest more optical illusions for an interesting effect and if I would love to see more of this! A simple game with beautiful visuals and a real heart. I love seeing a game that isn't about the grind but rather about the experience. Reminds me of old Newgrounds games and has a great retro vibe. Love it!!!

A really creative, unique game. Some levels are more challenging than others, and it's not a particularly long game, but I had fun playing it and it gave me something to do when waiting or just bored. Plus, I love that there are no ads unless you need to use hints, it's really refreshing in a world of ad packed mobile games. Already installed blue as soon as I finished.

Alright, I know the other games Bart Bonte has made so obviously, this is absolutely awesome. Except for the fact that I'm kind of stuck on level 47 right now and I don't know if I'm just being stupid or if there's actually a bug or if that level is just impossible? The hints don't help either, I've figured out how to do it, the number on the dice indicates which one next to tap, but after a while, the die just get into a loop and you can't tap any new ones? And it doesn't matter which one you start on, it always gets into a loop. Uhhh... help? I want to finish this 😂

Not much to offer. They use "puzzle" very loosely for this game. I got through level 19 without finding anything puzzling. It's a little tapping or swiping to figure out what they want and then it's over. The music is pleasant, but it's very repetitive. Aesthetically, it's a nice game and I never ran into any technical problems so it appears to be well made. Not a bad game, but not an exceptional one either. Probably good to play in a waiting room or on the train with such quick, short levels.

With the exception of Level 46, all the levels were challenging but not so hard that they were unsolvable. I loved the music and the graphics of the game as well. As a fan of Bart Bonte's other games, it's a pleasant surprise to have thoroughly enjoyed another one. Looking forward to more of such games, thank you for occupying 2 lovely afternoons.

Perfect activity for casual wind down. It gets you thinking, rarely frustrates and when in need, hints are explicit enough and available after a short ad. Besides the ads required for the hints, there's nothing else to bother you. Highly recommend the series. At the time of writing there are Yellow, Red, Black. To keep in mind: You don't actually have to kiss the screen, but it might be fun to see others do it, especially with the witty hint.

This game is a game that makes you use your brain. Bart Bonte is a very good developer at making puzzle games and there is a variety of different types of levels in his games. The game only gives you advertisements when you need some help with a level. Honestly, you should play this game as it gives you challenging puzzles and is straight forward.

The game was nice. I love puzzle games in general and "black" was no exception. I played it through within 2 evenings and I can't say anything negative. Of course, there are ads, but no random pop-ups, only if you need a hint, then you can choose to watch an ad and get the hint afterwards. And guys, seriously, that is the nicest way to put ads in small games like this. At least it's not an annoying banner or random pop-up that appears after three clicks.

All in all its a very innovative concept for a puzzle game and I am very receptive of the hard work and effort put in by the developer. However, my only thing is that a good amount of the puzzles are recycled ideas from the versions that came before black (yellow and red). If you have played these two games (yellow and red - same developer) before playing black then you would probably recognized some of the puzzles in black. Not mean to bash on the person creating the games, but its my honest feedback. I went through the first two and then black didnt really seem innovative. The games dynamics repeat, but with some tweek here and there. Other than that, I actually enjoyed black more than the other two. Definitely my favorite ;)

pretty good. little short. edit: played the others- yellow, red, blue, the box, boo. they're all good and then they're done. fun times but because of the length probably not the kind for a long plane ride if you know what I mean. not all games have to be long. but different games have different appeals, and this one takes up an enjoyable twenty minutes and then you just go do something else. keeps me productive. :) oh and 25 and tap tap tap are more infinite type stuff if you like that.
