Black Nation

Great concept. I'm hoping as it grows it will become more accessible. There's not a real category for fashion. It's lumped in with beauty. It's not very online business friendly either. It could be made much better if there was a search function and you could search different cities instead of having to give the app access to your location. However the layout looks great. Also be prepared to jump out of your skin when an ad with sound suddenly pops up out of nowhere. There are ads constantly down below, but some pop up as well.

Great concept, but adding a feature that will allow users to search by their zip code would make for a better user experience. The list of restaurants showed only one restaurant in my area, while the rest were in other states. When I looked at the map view I had to reposition it to my area, even though I turned on my location settings. It showed a few options nearby, none of which were included in the list view. I hope some improvements are made because I think this cluld be a fantastic app.

I'm in a neighborhood that is predominantly black yet it show absolutely zero businesses in my area. Says there are only 2 30+ miles away? Highly suspect. App freezes when switching categories. What's the point in allowing location in app if it never goes to my location? You have to go to map then hit the location button. It always defaults to a map area in a completely different area (several states away).

While I love the idea of the app, and find the way it catagorizes what type of buisness you're looking for to be nice, it's still in the early stages. For some reason, in the entire state of Oregon, there's only one black owned option on this app. I'd love to see this idea take off and become expansive, but for now, I'll have to go back to individual research.

Being a OTR Trucker, I was hoping this app would help me find Black owned businesses all over. A map of all categories would make this a much better app. OLD:I understand & agree with the comments on the low star ratings. Search by zip code would make this app much better. The first time I went to the map. No icons showed up. Before I started writing this, I went back to look again. Now what you need is a lot more businesses signed up. Because much of the country is a bit sparse.

Very buggy, the app crashes a lot and heats up my phone. When I can use it, it doesn't show every black owned businesses in my area, it also claims some white-owned businesses are black.

Shows black owned businesses but you can't narrow the search by location at all. More categories are needed. And what's with the white box that does nothing and shows a buffering symbol, each time you go to a new screen? C'mon, son

Too Invasive and Not Much Content. Everything I tried to do, the app asked for access to my files, media AND photos. For what reason would you need all of that to locate a black owned restaurant for carryout??? Uninstalling ASAP.

I really want this to be better! I had to uninstall because of app errors (exceptions, parsing, etc.) It appears that no one is actually monitoring these comments. If you are here - do better! Go to Fiverr and hire some programmers from Nigeria to fix the bugs so that this can grow. There are at least three competitors out there that I also have on my phone who do a better job. But none of you cover everything. Also, all of my businesses are online. I gave up on listing here. This can be great!

This is a great concept! Is there a way to search for businesses by zip code? I found an awesome-looking restaurant (in Atlanta,12 hours from me) and some good realtor-recommendations (in NY, unfortunately also hours away). Thanks for putting together such a good resource!

I'm a Black Business Owner. As I zoom in to my location I don't see Black Owned Businesses. However I see a small number of businesses, both white and black owned. However some popular black owned and black friendly businesses are missing. App also started hanging, as I searched each category. Uninstalled.

I like the layout but it doesn't allow me to search my area in NJ. It provides lists of places that are as close as 500 miles to as far as 1300 miles away and in no order. Wish there was a way to see only what is close to me.

Seems like a great app...great concept but i was under the impression when i was told to down load and try it out that i would be able to search my area for black owned businesses. I tried to type my city and my state into search bar but most of what i see listed is are businesses located in the south and NY and NJ. Was hoping my stylist was up here. So unless i move, looks like i have some research of my own to do to support black owned businesses in my community.

Great concept, but it still has a lot of bugs. It keeps freezing, and doesn't display by location.

Terrible app, tried it out and had a negative experience at the first business. Decided to shrug it off. Gave it a second chance and I was equally mistreated. I'll be better off choosing my shops randomly. You probably will too. Will be giving these businesses more detailed reviews on google.

Love the idea but don't understand why I need to look at every business listed. I want to find something near me so I need to be able to search near me. Great idea, horrible execution.

After reading the bad negative reviews I decided to try it for myself. After downloading the app, I also experienced the same. So, I decided to email the app administrator. Per our email conversations this is not the real Black Nation app. The true real Black Nation app is only offered through the Apple store for iPhone users only. So for those of you, myself included who have Androids we're out of luck for now. I will try reaching out to the real Black Nation this week.

A beautiful app. Using tech to empower the Black community and Black businesses is an incredible idea. There are so many resources from clothing to consultants to cars. Added bonus is I feel good putting my dollars into the Black community rather than racist Bezos etc.

It's a wonderful way to market your business. The app has several categories to pick from that relate to the type of business you have. You can Give it a few days for approval and business verification and then it will be posted in the category you selected

Keep getting a big white box and the loading icon when I tap on a category. Never goes away making the app unusable.

This has been a wonderful app to identify and find black owned businesses. Makes it much easier to avoid them and opt for Asian, white owned businesses.

Really bummed app not working. I have been trying to download it for two days now and once it opens its closes by itself.

Haven't found it very useful sadly... If you guys could maybe make another app that would show me businesses owned by all POC so that way I can ensure I know specifically which businesses are owned by whites, I'd use that a lot more. The area I'm in is mostly Latinx and Asian as far as non whites go

This app does not seem functional 😔. Looking for black business to support but there is NOTHING showing!

This is a wonderful and necessary app for those of us who want to spend our money within our community with businesses who don't waste money on advertising and then jack up the prices. Thank you to the developers!!

Very helpful app. The look and feel of the new changes are nice as well.

The fact that there is an app made specifically to find black only businesses is so "inclusive" to the point that it's racist. If it were changed to white nation it'd be removed immediately.
