I keep paying for this, but the app can't seem to follow my default color scheme (dark). Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. If I want a "flashlight" at night, I'll use the flashlight app - my calendar should be DARK. Blackberry has had Android for 5 years, you'd think they could figure it out! Gawd, I hope their software for cars is better than this!
Fine for several years. Now it does not show all the apointments on my desktop outlook. Running android 9. I cant rely on it to have all of my appointments. I use Outlook for calendar March 2022. With Android 11 on Galaxy S21. Still dies not sync well with Outlook. Today. It has 9 AM appointments but not 1 PM. I have to open the Outlook app and use that calendar
these jabronis still havent managed to fix dark mode after 4 years and yet have the nerve to charge a monthly fee to use the apps. enough is enough, I will be making other arrangements. sick of it
Best calendar app I've ever used. I especially like that you can scroll up & down continuously from month to month - no side-to-side scrolling - unless you want it that way- both work.
Great app and easy to update, the only issue I found is the app icon no longer changes with the date. Update: changing icon pack allows the app icon to display calendar date.
Obviouzly, developers did not consider the user experience. There is no ability to customize the look and feel with user-assigned colors and patterns. The Reminder feature offers a drop-down list (values range from one week down to five minutes, but again no customized values), wholly inadequate, esp for long-term planning. MS Outlook is far superior as a flexible and useful time management tool.
This app requires too many steps to set an appointment. My old phone allowed me to simply click on a time slot and enter appointment info without having to go to another screen and 10 different option. I could simply type and press enter and it would schedule the appointment with all the default settings. It was a great time saver. This app is too much like an iPhone app
This app used to load up and perform a lot faster. It's now taking almost 10 seconds to load, and the experience is pretty laggy. This is definitely not an issue with my phone (S7 edge). Is the team aware of an ongoing performance issue / are they working to correct it? I think this performance hit might be due to the recent UI overhaul, since prior to that the app was working flawlessly for me.
The BlackBerry calendar is still a viable app, but it appears that it is no longer supported. If you send an email to the developer using the email they provide, you will receive this reply: "This mailbox is not monitored, no emails sent here are retained by BlackBerry and you will only receive an automated response." Why don't they delete this or have a new path to contact them? Like others, the newest update broke the ability to keep the calendar on "dark mode". Very irritating.
This new version is terrible. As recent reviews have stated, the new version is too crowded, too small, and is way more difficult to use effectively. Please return to the simple calendar 'circle' design. I know I can see that calendar by touching at the top, but even then it's too small and I don't want that. I just want to be able to see the calendar as it was with the little dots to indicate appointments. Simple and easy. This version is not an update at all. It's terrible.
I rarely even open the calendar, let alone use it for appointments or anything, but the last 2 days I've been getting notices that "calendar is running in the background" - why?? I've clicked the "force stop" button, and restarted my phone but it's happened again. I came to the app store hoping to uninstall it - let this be an option if it's going to be acting up.
It doesn't label the months properly in month view sometimes. For example right now if I open month view, it will label the month as October but this month is still September for two more days. It has August and then scrolls to October and then October again for a second time. Other than that, it's pretty good. Just be sure to double check what month it's showing so you don't get bad data...
Why are the notifications not popping up regularily? Every time I open my calendar all of sudden they all pop up at once including very old ones. I've checked numerous times and I have notifications turned on. It's been going on for months and updates haven't worked so I decided to finally write a review about it. I guess I will need to use my Google calendar for now.
Compared to the BB10 app, I miss the ability to 'jump' to a specific date. I realize I can effectively do that when I make a new entry, but not when I want to modify an existing entry. The possibility of mislabelling a month is also a problem, as is seamlessly meshing with Google's calendar when I want to share my entire calendar.
I wonder if you can help. I have noticed and for a long time, while my work outlook calendar syncs with my phone, putting appointments on the BlackBerry calendar doesn't sync with my outlook. This has caused quite a few problems with me, as my Secretary can't see anything and I end up being double booked. Thank you
The only useful features of this app are its integration into the Hub app and its dark theme. I tried to contact the developer to make a suggestion and was sent full circle through BlackBerry's neglected support site instead. There is no way to contact the developer. All I was asking for was away to edit a SINGLE event without affecting any other events in the series. The app is also incredibly slow to update any changes made to an event so I have to restart it to see changes. COUNTERPRODUCTIVE
I would like to give a zero star right now! i noticed recnetly that people were ignoring my calendar events. i finally figured out that they didnt receive it. Finally started to look at the problem. i deleted my calendar and tried to add it. No luck, no calendar visibility. Tried for 3 days to solve issue. Finally gave up and used another google account i had. exported and imported calendar events. Then when i went to view the calendar it disappear! Now i have no goodl calendar! HELP!
Unlike excellent Hub+ Inbox, Tasks and Notes apps, Calendar is a half-baked time waste. Accounts are inexplicably duplicated and muddled, STILL no means to drag an appointment to reschedule (how common and basic is that for everyone else!), easily overlooked/fiddly meeting attendees invite, and other faults. Inbox, is as I say, so much better than the native Samsung Email app and is BlackBerry on its usual top form. But Calendar is an embarrassment that I'm surprised they put their name to.
Hellish piece of software. Changed calendar format for some reason on its own, was by month now it's by week with agenda below. Went through all the settings. A simple 'select format' in one of the drop downs would seem like a bit of common sense. But no. Reminder doesn't work either. The calender BB10 was about hundred times better worked and it was intutive
The only thing missing is THE local calendar. This app does only work syncing a caldav account, imap and pop accounts cannot be integrated even if they have an integrated calendar. Useless and a great down keeping some events private, a big miss for every blackberry user, as this was standard on every device like 9900,9700, bold , Q10 aso. For me that is a clear downgrade vs the real BB's However the app does what it says.
Good integrations in the complicated world of calendars and the many accounts nowadays. Would like the ability to remove specific feeds from calendars from Google and other big data providers. E.g. if I have a US calendar and a faith based holiday calendar running - many (but not all) are duplicated. This is likely to be down to Google and big data rather than BlackBerry. The look and feel of this is rather excellent compared to other devices.
Preferred Calendar on Classic :-( Was able to move everything in my calendar over, but I used to be able to delete/edit one event in a series, now it wants to change all :-( Other differences I don't like too, but seems you just fixed 1 - can now 'go to today'...hopefully you can 'fix' others, to make more like version on Classic - that's why I bought Keyone, as I liked Blackberry programs
Would like to see option to export peoples notes as bday etc and notes from calendar to a file/ onto SD card for when I buy a new blackberry phone.also option for it to ask if to copy dates for upcoming years that are always the same day so I don't have to input them manually again. These 2 things are essential to upgrading to newer phones. Makes transition easier. Some people like me do not use sync options of any kind so those functions are never used or wanted.
I used this app on a PRIV and didn't realize how well it integrated with my work email and calendar until I switched to Samsung. The apps that came pre-installed on my new phone have far less work utility, so I added the BB Hub/calendar to get that full functionality again. Any issues I had with duplicate entries and not syncing new entries were related to the settings I chose. Choose "events" on Office365 account, not "calendar". Delete or hide Samsung Mail connection to avoid duplicates.
This app refuses to run unless granted access to your contacts. If you don't (because there's no conceivable reason why a calendar needs your contacts just to run!) it will harass you for the permissions multiple times a day forever. Wanting a permission to support a feature is one thing, but a well-designed app should be able to run just fine without nonessential permissions, and this is definitely *not* essential to the work of displaying a calendar. Please fix your broken app, Blackberry!
Month view is horrible and LAGS. Sometimes taking 20-30 seconds to show me the events I have on a day. Previous circile design was far superior and was very responsive (yes I know I can tap the date to see the circles but I want them to replace this awful new month view). Seems as if they are making requests every time I select a date rather than caching. Seriously considering a different calendar.
I wish the default setting was "private." Also it is very annoying that if you save a series of recurring events, you cannot make changes to one of those individual events. Totally was possible on the previous bb calendar. This is not a user friendly calendar at all.
This app was the automatic upgrade to the one that came w/my phone. This app capriciously shuts down, fails to load appointments after confirming they're saved, and hangs up my entire phone if I try to perform more than one function per session. I have to close/re-open. Still trying to figure out my options.
great update, but default account not sticking. have multiple accounts Within the calendar, and my work events calendar is selected as the default. however, with today's update, the default calendar isnt sticking, keeps reverting to waanting to add a personal calendar event, rather than my work default account. Can you look into fixing this glitch? if this gets fixed, back to 5 stars.
i really want to like this app. but i cant, the limited options on customizing and the UI makes the experience horrible! honestly theres a calender call "simple calender" its very basic yet FAR superior to this in terms of customizing and UI, which is the main thing a calendar should be. like you can create and organise so many custom events types, name and colour each one and it makes it very nice to use. if this calender had that id be happy, but it doesnt, its just unpleasent to use
