Awesome game for Rook. It is easily customizable to different versions depending on how you play. The only thing is I wish you could change the difficulty of the computers. Sometimes my computer partner makes incredibly bad bids. Also I've recently had some weird glitches recently too. For example I got dealt 2 Green 10s.

Decent Rook Substitute. Partner AI needs a lot of tweeking, strategy is odd and sometimes not good. For example, it plays the rook out of turn like a new player would and after several games it doesn't improve or learn. Opposing team plays well though. Outside this, the game allows customizing the rules so I can play tournament rules instead of Kentucky Discard (bidder leads). One thing I would ask for is for 2-4 player or possibly online play with game invite. Playing AI is ok but gets old.

Come On!! I like the game. Pretty close to realistic play. HOWEVER: Ths graphics are a little small where the players bid. AND the AI isn't great: if it is pretty obvious that points should be played to assist your partner, do it! The computer partner will hold point cards until it's obvious that the other team has all the tricks. How can you set your opponents if your partner won't help? I wish it could be an option to be multi-player. Other than those complaints, it's pretty close to real.

No online multiplayer is disappointing. Game is still fun. Automated partner is next to useless... Update: After playing for about a month, I'd like to give an update. There is no redeal function. Not sure how random the game actually is, seems like every time I pass on the bid, the other team seems to take every trick. Also pertaining to randomized dealing, the Blackbird (Rook) card is dealt to me maybe 10% of the time. Seems like player to my left or my partner always has the Blackbird.

I used to love playing ROOK with my coworkers at lunch. Been looking for real life ROOK partners or an app for years. I miss 'reading' my partner, but this is a fun approximation. Has all the features of the original from making the bid to strategizing how to take the most tricks. Fairly no frills. They could probably jazz it up, but it has all the key features.

AI partner needs to be smarter. When I get set, it is usually because my partner seems to be working for the other team. I have recently started taking all bids in order to improve my game playing when the kitty is awful and gives you point cards (I play that you cannot throw points in the kitty). Because I bid on hands that I never would bid on in real life, it is less annoying when my partner doesnt help but super surprising he it does.

The play is good. My partner is stingy and doesn't like to always throw count on my trick. Can't ask for redeal if you have no count in your hand. It would better if you could change a few more options and rules. I like it. If you've never played before you will learn fast.

I love this app. And since there are so many different rule variations, it is super that you allow the user to create their own rules. There is one thing that seems to have happened with this latest version, that is if the 1's are enabled, then the Red 1 fails to get counted. This was working before this latest change.

I loved to play blackbird but I uninstalled it about a year ago because my cards were all black I didn't know what else to do. So I re installed it today but its still the same way I can't get any colour in the card so I can't play the game I wish someone would fix this also this was a game that costs 1.99 i guess sense they already got my money they don't care if I'm able to play the game.

Update: After most recent update the game is worse. My opponent to the left always throws points on my winning card and doesn't save winners. A few glitches yet like if opponent has the 14 and 10 it plays the 14 on my 1 where if he saved it for next play it would be a winner. Also would love to see option where Trump has to be broken before it can be played, and the ability to choose either high or Low Trump

Plays very intelligently. Not perfect, but the best I've seen for AI players. The biggest weakness is bidding. I've entered custom Nazarene Rook rules and the bidding is off for this -- quits bidding at 145 instead of 155. Would be stronger if you could set the bid aggressiveness of the computer opponents. Cards and fonts should also grow with screen size. Playing it on my tablet makes everything a bit small.

Love the actual card game, this electronic version, not so much. It's unfortunate, in a team setting, that your "partner" rarely plays the right card & the opposing team ALWAYS has complementary cards to each other, especially when they win the bid. It's like playing AGAINST 3 players where the opposing team knows what's in everyone's hand instead of a true random number generator that leaves every hand up to "chance."

This is the only app I could find that is like ROOK. I like being able to set the rules the way I normally play ROOK. However, during the game, the computer players make some plays that a good ROOK player would never make. Otherwise, I enjoy playing this game.

Ai is overall pretty good. I wish there was a way to make different difficulties. maybe a smarter partner like not leading with trump when its opponents round to win. more customizable settings such as card value. I play (1s) are worth 15. playing things like going alone or partners best would also be cool.

The only way to play Rook on the android. Impressive performances by the AI players. Sometimes your team mate carries you to victory all by themselves. Lots of fun to be had with the base game rules, but also the ability to add your own custom rule set. Great deal!

Been playing this game for years. The AI's playing strategy regarding the Rook is often times frustrating, I've still enjoyed playing. Then comes the update... This new update has now ruined the experience. My custom rules no longer apply, nor allow me to edit on my Note 8. Hate the warp speed of the cards. Really wish this update had bypassed my phone... Go back to the way it was and I'll give it 4 stars. Add online playing for 5 stars.

I'm really enjoying this game!!! I especially appreciate the ability to create my own rule set! The programming could be strengthened: 1) The AI players always play the Blackbird their first opportunity, even if they have other trumps. So, they don't bleed out the Bidder's trump, waiting for higher point "bait." 2) If the Bidder's partner has control, they will lead trump until everyone is out instead of an off suit so that the Bidder can play any losing cards, save trump, or take control.

I love rook and spending time with my family playing, and we all got this game around the same time. It started off playing intelligently and not throwing ignorant cards (ie points, or higher cards 14,13) for opponents. I understand a mishap in a hand but everytime is annoying. I really wish it could be setup better or have different level of opponents and teammates for different levels of experienced players. Also add an online section so you can possibly setup friend or family tables.

Rook is my favorite card game of all time, and although this isn't technically Rook, it is the closest I can get to playing it. I only have two complaints. First, the AI bidding seems off, but it's not terrible by any means. Second, I know it's not easy to accomplish, but I'd love to see some multiplayer. Playing online against real people would be a dream come true. I still give this game 5 stars though, and I'm glad to have purchased it.

Blackbird is a good approximation for rook. wish the Android version was as good as the iPhone version. partner should be a bit smarter and i wish when others take the bid that it allowed them to lay down when they have all remaining tricks. but the customization features work great

Jam. L. Jul 9, 2021

Some things I have noticed: 1) When a color is played that an AI player doesn't have, they will occasionally play an off-suit 1 instead of playing an off-suit card with no point value. 2) When a non-trump is lead, the AI player with the bid will play an off-suit card instead of a trump, often allowing the other opponent to then play (and take) points. 3) Bidding should restrict the teammate from bidding when partner wants to take the bid (bids at least twice) to avoid bid inflation.

Super happy with this game. It's great practice and it's making me a better player. I might be addicted. It's a good game but it has some serious flaws as well. It doesn't always work the way it's supposed to. Something wrong with the programming. I could show you a screenshot of a player that bid 140 and then got 120 points and should have been penalized 140 points and instead was given 120 points. There is some messed up math in this programming.

Great. Awesome that you can customize rules. One rule to add is a misdeal if no point cards. Or just prevent that possiblity. Also, of the five cards being bid on, allow the stack to be seen with the one card facing up somewhere on the screen.

The. M. Sep 21, 2021

Really love the game. Its awesome that i can set up the game rules that im used to. I just really wish this game would good online instead of just having AI as oppenents and teammates. At least make it so someone you know can join in and be your partner or something so you can play with friends or family.

Kim. J. Jul 16, 2020

Thanks for fixing the problem with the red ones! However, the latest update has players sloughing off counters when they didn't need to (another card just played was sure to take the trick, and the sloughing player later played another card that would have worked). I get that there should be some probability of error, but seriously: when would anyone play the non-trump 10 or 14 of a non-led suit when the other team will win the trick and they have non-counters available?

And. J. D. Jun 6, 2021

I really love the fact you can play your own version of rook but I am missing the option to choose the Trump before picking up the "kitty", not only playing with set partners but the option to choose a partner based on the card they have (usually rook or 5), "shooting the rainbow" or going solo, besides that a great app for everyone.

Mic. B. Jan 28, 2019

pretty decent game. a few more rule variations would be nice. you can set the rules for a 180 point hand, but I grew up playing with a 200 hand. keep the black 2 in as the "little rook." the option to play online with other members would be great. still, if you enjoy Rook, you'll enjoy this game.

Sta. B. Oct 19, 2018

The play is alot better on iPhone, the android crashes alot. Also, the iphone keeps up with your win/loss percentage and the Android does Not. I like the game alot and compares with the authentic game Rook great, but like I said, for the ones that can't afford a blame iphone it's not as much fun.

Shy. L. Aug 27, 2019

I love the game of Rook. Played a lot when i was gdowing up. One really annoying thing about this app the game freezes and you have to uninstall it and fhen re-install it. Nothing else works.
