Blacksburg Transit

The devs have added some features that I think have made this app much better these days, including showing all stop times in one place and being able to filter by full/reduced service. All the information you need on which busses will stop where and when is here now. You still will most likely not use the trip planner, and the live map is not always super reliable or up to date, but overall the app is tremendously useful, especially for those new to the area.

A monkey missing all of their limbs could design a better app. The bus schedules need to have network connectivity even though for a majority of the time they are fixed and take forever to load. The bus tracking almost never works or isn't turned on. The app is slow even though there is little data needed. It will say "No buses are running" when they are. Busses will not show up when the app specifically says they will. I would rate 0 if I could.

I had nowhere to review due to the fact I have no Facebook. Good luck figuring their mystery routes out and when and where you can get picked up. Google doesn't work. The maps they provide are totally confusing. When you get so low in life and have to take buses, it sucks. They make it impossible to figure out stops, everything. I've seen this in Roanoke and now here. I have to get a Lyft to a bus stop because of their confusion. It's unbelievable.

Has the most basic information on route schedules and route stops. Do not rely on the app for anything else as all other functionality is either broken, slow, or non existent. Do yourself a favor and use the unofficial apps. At least the developers for those apps will listen tl feedback. Detour and delay information is not displayed so in emergencies, you must check BT transit's (unimpressive) website.

Only useful for seeing the bus routes, as the expected times for buses to be at bus stops is quite often incorrect by 5-15+ minutes. After a bus is late, if you tap the stop for information, the old trip information disappears. Live tracking is delayed by long enough that it isn't very useful, except to inform whether the bus is running at all. The "Contact BT" button in the app doesn't even work.

This app highkey sucks. Other than the fact that it's buggy and can't provide proper up to date info, it doesn't even work at night. None of the routes show as active and I have to ask someone else with an iPhone to check their apps to tell me the times.

Rarely updated and offers no way to access critical information such as alerts and route changes. Times posted for busses are typically incorrect and time changes throughout the day are not posted. Awful user interface design with unintuitive buttons and menus.

Honestly this app is total garbage and i would not, in good faith recommend anyone attempt to rely on it. The app constantly gives misinformation on bus stops and routes resulting in my lateness multiple times even though I leave for class 40 minutes early.

it can show you where the bus rout and stops are. dont expect it to be on time. It shows an approximate location of the busses, but this is usually off and it will freez if you open another app ontop of it.

Unreliable. Timings are not updated during detour and special/reduced runs. Slow loading. Google Maps provides better information.

The pages to check prices, the calender for days they arent operating and to contact them all do not function. It seems the city abandoned it years ago.

Horrible app. It doesn't show all routes at any given moment. Complicated too use whehn it should be simple. Worthless

Continually crashes upon startup on Android. For this reason it's very unreliable.

Crashes 90% of the time. Might as well just learn the bus schedule instead of dealing with this disaster of an app

Looks good but it seems to take forever for the map to load the locations of the buses, it's much more efficient to use the web site if you want that

I don't want to imagine how much money was spent rebuilding this borderline unusable app. Always inaccurate, never dependable.

Every single time you open the app it states that blacksburg transit is experiencing technical difficulties

Installed it two times but each time showed up with problem. It could not show the bus

why didn't BT release the Android app at the same time as the iOS app? all i ever see are advertisements around campus for the iOS app.

If you click on routes and schedule, and choose a bus, it says that bus is not active, even though on the live map where you can see bus locations in real time, all the buses are active.

Not sure why all the reviews are so bad, my only real complaint is that the app breaks with poor connection

The app is leaps and bounds better than previous ones. The trip planner is excellent; when it works. That "when it works" unfortunately is the issue. For the past week or so it won't identify any routes for any trips, not even walking. Sometimes the app will also recommend tiny bus routes on a very large walking path, making the bus pretty much pointless.

Harder to use than old version. Please add a feature to save a stop/route for quick access. It would be awesome to quickly check the same two stops I use everyday without going through menus.
