BLAST & MEGABLAST by Ultimate Ears

I give up. I really liked these speakers and the app to pair up two speakers. Now, it's pointless to have the app at all. I can't pair two speakers anymore. I've tried uninstalling the app, forgetting speakers and renaming speakers several times. Nothing works. I can only have one speaker on at a time and the connectivity is pretty spotty at best. I'll be looking for something new that actually works and selling these speakers off, cheap.

Awfull. I bought a pair of megabkast speakers to enjoy a wide stereo sound. It takes half an hour to an hour of fiddling with the app, having the connection etween the speakers fail with a timeout some 30 or 40 times, having to turn the sprakers on and off some 10 times, try resetting phone, or reinstalling app, only to find it still doesnt work, before eventually, one of these steps which failed the first 6 or 7 times, unexplainedly works. In the end, you leave them in the cupboard.

I thought this would be a interesting app to test out the eq and other functions. Received a used speaker from a friend that functioned perfectly on just Bluetooth. When trying to connect to this app it struggled to connect and told me to reset and retry the Bluetooth connection for the app. This bricked the device. Went online and used their reset method, but unfortunately after 45 minutes of trying it was done. Went ahead and tried the next still it will not power on.

It sounds just fine for me, a casual listener to mainly classic rock and country. My problem is that sound, at any volume level, fades in and out from up to down to up, etc. Doesn't matter what type of music and it doesn't matter if it's Amazon, Pandora, or Sirius XM. Very annoying. What's the fix? This does not happen steadily, however.

app is horrible. speakers constantly disconnect. delays in volume control. it seems like they did not even bother to test if this worked before releasing it. I loved my boom 2 and it's app worked fine. Got an email reply finally. Auto reply asking me to go thru their troubleshooting steps. Which I did. And they close my case asking for help. Not buying their products again.

I have two megablast speakers and connecting the two together is the most temperamental experience, it requires so much setup to get them to connect and even then it rarely works and I have to start the whole process of connecting them to Bluetooth again. And over the years of having them they haven't done anything to change this. Whenever I try to connect it just keeps loading then says connection timed out it is the most frustrating experience - edit: a year later, still not fixed

speaker sounds great! One major problem, I can't do anything with my phone while trying to use the speaker, or the music quits playing. Even in the megablast app, I cant even use other parts of the app without the music stopping anytime something is selected (menu, going to home page, etc, anything)

Multiple resets and still a pathetic bluetooth connection. Very, very disappointed. It constantly drops out which leads to zero music enjoyment. A tremendously flawed product, which is a shame given that the actual sound quality is really good. Had 2 megabooms originally, but gave up on UE products and sent them back having wasted too much time. Unfortunately my wife got me a megablast which I've felt obliged to persevere with. However, after nothing but hassle I am done. DO NOT BOTHER!

The only good thing about this speaker is that it sounds good. Everything else is terrible. I think UE should reposition its focus from trying to make a smart speaker that as a result becomes a buggy mess to just making a great speaker. if they want to add smart features just add a buttom that launches siri or assistant on the phone. i know Amazon is likely paying you royalties to have Alexa on this device, however its ruining the entire experience. also my speaker randomly disconnects and skips

Horrible. The device is connected to WiFi but doesn't work with Alexa. Alexa will give an error message that it's having trouble connecting to WiFi. I only bought this to use with Alexa so it's completely useless. Have spent hours and hours trying to fix with resets etc. It has worked once so it's not a hardware fault....

they perfected the boom series but the blast series has issues. they need to make the app more like the predecessors and use the remote turn on and off switch along with better distance as an update along with to top it all off, usable with the megaboom and boom speakers as one, the party up and DJ option on the boom and megaboom app is perfect, fix these issues and you're golden.

When My 2 megablast speaker are synced and they are just about far apart bout 16 ft away it starts to makes a Crackling or popping noises or something interfering weak signal. I tried everything to see it needs update on the app and the phone is up to date for updates and i have restarted the phone and connect it along with wifi , still comes out the same results. Fix the issue plz. It was working before and I've had the 2 megablast apart about 65ft apart and the signal was still strong.

No longer connects as a group. I tried doing it previously like I have on my Samsung S8+ which it used to work wonderfully on but to no success. My new phone Samsung S20 Ultra now the app either says timed out or unsuccessful. I went to troubleshooting which it is exactly as I expect just what I was doing. I tried it again through app no luck. Tried it through the speakers themselves no luck either. Let's find a way to fix this? It used to work so well now I can't group my many speakers.

I loved my Megablast so I bought a second one in order to pair them for better sound. Unfortunately this app is nearly useless as it only allows this occasionally. I have tried everything- updates, full resets of both phone wireless and both speakers and router - and still 9/10 the speakers won't pair, making my purchase nearly worthless! Please UE fix this software issue!

If I could give less than 1 star I would... both of my megablast speakers would occasionally pair when I was using an iPhone; not once have have I managed to pair them using my Samsung. Abysmal app, appalling interface and dire connection issues.

Well well well, absolutely rubbish and a complete let down. After days and days of emails back and fore to Logitech support regarding Alexa/Spotify voice command sudden failure I'm now told that the Blast & MegaBlast no longer has Alexa to Spotify Voice command and its no longer supported or will it be updated. So after 18 months or so ago you spend over £350 on 3 speakers for just that, they withdraw support. RUBBISH!

why is grouping speakers together so hit or miss? I see this has been an issue, what is the problem. "Simply drag the speaker icon up to group it." Yeah,.f right. spending a half hour trying to get the speakers grouped is not exactly the music experience I was looking for.

This app is only good if you have one speaker. I can never get both of mine to connect through the app, and because they have an app. My phone won't dual audio them.

This app is absolutely the worst app I've ever used. It only pairs with the speaker about 5% of the time, and only when I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it about 20 times. Customer service said to go to the settings on the App, which I have yet to find. Extremely frustrating! I will be sending the speaker back.

I can't get the Blast to play continuously. I have installed & uninstalled the Alexa and Ultimate Ears Blast apps, several times, but the Blast continues to " skip", (or stop playing). I have tried contacting UE, but I'm not tech savvy enough to figure out how to fix this, even with their instructions. How can I get this to play continuously? Is there a simply way (directions) to fix this? HELP...!

Before a month ago I could ask this the MEGABLAST speakers Alexa to play songs off Spotify with no problems and now it stopped working! The Alexa voice anounces it will play the song and then remains silent 😡. Nothing I do including re-installing this app and factory reset on the MEGABLAST helps at all!

Waste of money. How can UE not be embarrassed by the non-functional app they have put out? Can't connect 2 speakers together, now matter how I try. Have tried multiple WiFi networks and multiple mobile devices. Have hard reset everything to no avail. I think I will be emailing UE for a full refund on the speakers because they don't perform their basic functions...

My speaker no longer connects to my phone, I have been researching the phone settings as a possible issue but there is nothing there. I have been using this app along with my speaker and it has worked seemlessly until the last update. PLEASE RESOLVE!

Connecting to my speaker used to be fine but I wanted to change the eq so decided to download this app. Ever since I have had no end of trouble trying to connect. Sometimes it will pair but then as soon as a I play music it disconnects. Sometimes it doesn't pair at all. So infuriating.

The app shows that I am signed in to my wifi network but when I attempt to join the speaker to it it keeps saying it has lost the connection. I've tried to join the wifi on 3 separate devices right next to my router and no luck. FAQ is no help either. Good sound, terrible wifi connectivity. What a waste of money

I've used this speaker without connecting it to wifi for several years. I should not have to connect to wifi in order to access app features. Instant uninstall.

When the app launches the speaker settings don't load. Almost like it thinks the speaker isn't available. I have to select the second speaker and then reselect the first speaker before it becomes available. This was an issue on my previous phone too.

This is quite a useful app for my megablast speaker. I can change the sound equaliser, I can pair it up to another speaker for stereo sound, and it tells me info like battery life and informs me of software updates, and if you have the megablast, which is a WiFi speaker, the update will download directly to the speaker instead of downloading on the phone then transferring it over Bluetooth.

megablast is a mega fail. boom boom2 boom3 are beaut. Rubbish and unstable. Mega might be big speaker but also big issues. Having issues all the time. ie Spotify playing on phone and not speaker. Unable to connect with Bluetooth as says incorrect pin. Has not even asked for pin. Open this app and can change settings and talk to speaker. Having to delete speaker in this app and the re-add the speaker to work. Boom Boom2 Never with this issue.

DO NOT UPDATE IF YOU ALREADY HAVE AN OLD VERSION. The latest version BREAKS the connection with the speaker ! How come Logitech doesn't test their software before publishing it??? SHAME!!! On the flip side if your speaker is already set up, reset it once and use it without the BLAST & MEGABLAST software. Get any equalizer software and use it with your speaker instead. But do NOT spend hours resetting your speaker. It will not work with the latest UE software!
