I have to make a phone call every time I use this network. It got to the point where the person who answered the phone knew my name. My card only ever gives an error message and even though the app says charging has started it never does. Edit: I'm not sure how, but the profesionals behind the sences found the problem (which didn't resolve even after creating a new account) and implemented a solution. Charging works flawlessly now for several uses. I'm impressed with their tenacity, and thankful

Can't sign in, can't sign up, app is beyond hopeless. Either do it properly or don't bother. The app doesn't recognize any inputs, tells you there's a problem. No kidding. Pointless.

App is pretty basic in design and functionality. It should really display the charge rate as you are charging though. Seems crazy that is not a standard feature! Works well to start charging sessions so far.

App aside,Blink STATIONS are on point. Blinks one of the few stations that don't force u to download/join anything for their services, u just need a contactless payment method (: (takes 15 secs tops) Respectfully **the APP ITSELF** should ONLY be considered if u: 1)specifically need a map of Blink chargers + availability 2)don't have contactless cards/devices + called support for "access code"& can't get assistance 3) contacted ppl u trust to meet u at the station & help pay but no reply

I plugged in while i ate, my total was lwss that $1 and it preauthorized my card $25. I would have had to stay there for about 7 hours to rack up $25. Money still not back in my account. They did not send me anything or warn me about preauthorization. Reciept is for the actual amount.

Regret even attempting to use their station. App is horrible. Just gives errors for everything without telling you why. Took forever to figure out that you can't use your phone as nfc to pay (then what's the point???). Tried to use their code generator to pay, which isn't in any way explained how to use, that gave an error too. Wasted 30 minutes and had to go somewhere else. Chargepoint is way better.

App has a serious flaw, won't accept a username and password to log in. Keeps prompting "Enter an email and password to continue." even though a valid email/password combination has been entered. The normal website works much better.

missing stations right in front of you in the app, plus the support section's form is broken - asks for email while signed in, without actually including a field to? Starts you over entirely when including a picture?

Terrible experience. After spending several minutes signing up for an account and entering credit card information to get the member discount, they tell me the price is $0.59 per KWH instead of the guest rates which was only 29 cents per KPH. Then it wouldn't even accept my account information at the machine and I couldn't charge anyway. Avoid blink, I'm canceling my membership, and just do guest access if you must charge here

never works always says network error. Edit: wont work unless you pre load the money onto the app.

The absolute worst UX ever built by man. Took more time to activate than had time to charge.

Difficult to register. The credit card snapshot feature does not work. Had to manually put the information in anyways after backing out of that screen entirely several times. Cannot remove credit card once entered, screen just loads a moment and nothing happens. The card was immediately run so I am unsure if the registration or membership is "free" or $1 (charge may drop, we shall see.) Probably deleting the app since the only nearby charge stations are broken. This service needs better infrastructure and to be less costly.

App will throw constant network connection errors at you until you put funds in the account (If for some reason the problem is there's no money on the account then that's the error you should get), and it's pointless to try and do anything on it as a guest. Very frustrating experience when you're on a low charge and panicked. Oh, also, it will never show you charging activity even though that feature is front and center.

TL;DR - It's pretty and it works, but it's not nearly as fast or easy to use as it's competitors. Full Review: If you're going to use a public blink charger, I strongly recommend you opt to have a free blink card sent to you in the mail. The app/screen on charging stations is often difficult to work with. Tapping the card to the front of the public charger is much, much easier and more times than not, faster. Basically, it works and since I typically use blink at Whole Foods for free, so I'm not actually paying to charge my car. I like using the free chargers, I would not like having to deal with the little hassles of a blink charger and have to pay for them too! Good job to whoever designs the outside casing though - imho, that's the only part of the design/user experience where blink outranks their competitors. But when you're trying to get your car plugged in quickly so you can get into the office/store/house ASAP, this experience is slower than others. I'd recommend blink employees actually try to use their product and then compare to the experience/speed of using a competitors.

No guidance on how to start. After some googling I think I found it how but the charging machine had a broken touch screen. The app wouldn't let me report it but wouldn't tell me why i couldn't report it. The UX team needs some serious help.

Mel. H. Dec 18, 2021

Believe it or not, app does not let you report an issue with a charger unless you locate and enter the full and correct unit serial number. Unit number e.g. is NOT accepted. I hope it's understood that that's insane without me explaining why. (Unfortunately for Blink chargers, having an issue to report is all too common so this is an important problem, and ties into the main downside w/ Blink apart from cost - there does not seem to be any focus on getting to charging station reliability).

Charging is ridiculously overpriced, no matter what plan. The member rate in my state (WA) is $0.39/kWh which equates to over $5/gal! The cost of general service electricity is ~$0.09/kWh delivered, why the price gouging? The one positive experience is that I did not have any issues with member registration or the app. However, this does not make up for attempting to take complete advantage of potential customers. Halve your rates and maybe people will consider supporting your service Blink.

Unreal how difficult your chargers are to use. I've used Charge Point, EV connect, & Sema Connect. I'm on Droid and downloaded your app and tried to setup credit card 3 times. The card scanner didn't work. The screen doesn't move down far enough during address entry. I wasn't able to enter the code. I wasn't able to "start charge" it just sat waiting forever to connect. Guest, signup, sign in... alas ended up just giving up.

Seems totally nonfunctional. App has never been able to reach the blink chargers I've tried. I get a network error trying to get a blink code to use. Their phone support won't pick up. In general the interface looks dated. Are y'all still operating? The biggest head scratcher is that i can't tap my phone to the charger to start charging like I can with Chargepoint. Please do better.

I was assuming this app would work with NFC to allow me to replace my InCard and make charging less intrusive. It does the exact opposite. It is extremely cumbersome to use, and reports chargers as "busy" when you plug your car in and go to pay. You'll essentially have to use an InCard even with the app, or send yourself a "pay now" code EVERY TIME you charge. Hopefully the Blink app improves in the future, right now it's just a waste of storage space.

Max. B. Jan 17, 2022

After installing app and registering couldn't get a charger code. Can't use phone with charger, need a card. Can't use Google pay/link with Google account.

Absolute worst ev charging system i have ever used. App set up is lacking in proper instructions. You have to get a separate physical incard as there is no phone scan functionality. The terminal is beat up. Only good thing was the customer service rep-she was great. But the customer service line automated message has the audacity to state they are the leading ev charging provider- garbage. I wasted 45 in a parking lot on this experience.

Cra. T. Feb 14, 2022

The app no longer works for me. I had to use my card to use the charger. Very disappointing as it use to work.

RWF. N. Mar 31, 2020

I don't have access to a space to charge my EV at the place I'm staying. This app has been most helpful in finding a charge in times of need. The only thing that concerns me is the one I usually use is not listed in the map anymore. Luckily there's the handy dandy plugshare app that still has it listed. All in all, the chargers I use are kept in as good condition as possible. Hope to one day have one of my own for public use.

Possibly the most over priced charging network ever. You also need to make a deposit before charging, and they'll automatically charge your credit card a refresh amount if funds are low. So if you rarely use it, you're just giving them extra money because the extra funds aren't going to get returned. If they ran their system like Chargepoint, then I would concider using them even though majority of the charge stations are over priced.
