Blinkist is brillant. I'd like to read a lot of books but I do not have hours per day. Blinkist helps me to have the best bits in 15 min, nicely read by a professional. Regarding the app there are a few glitches at times. Particularely if you are listening to a playlist. The free tier is good to discover a new thing a day but the paid yearly subscription gives you access to an amazing amount of knowledge. To me: totally worth it.

Cool concept but I really feel there is a lack of diversity in the topics offered. Really struggling to find content which interests me. The annoying thing too is that a lot of it feels very surface level when I explore topics I am already familiar with - feels very much like first year undergrad stuff. Makes things accessible but I feel they lack depth and diversity. Seems better to use proper books and articles to meet my needs for now which I can do well with Play Books' text-to-speech.

I love the content! The app needs work. Here is my biggest issue. We should be able to add to favorites from the blink description! If I'm in the description of the blinks, I have to go back, go to my library and find the blink I was just on, and then select the 3 dots to find "add to favorites". Also It's not clear how to start the blinks. There's a "play blinks" button which doesn't look a lot like a button, and a "play" button at the end of the screen, which actually plays the queue.

It's a complete game changer but there's one thing I think could be better... I like the fact that I can get the key ideas from books in 15 minutes but the main problem for me is having an effective method to follow up these ideas. I have to go through the blinks multiple times and type up action plan notes in my productivity app ClickUp. It would be great if Blinkist could export a set of action tasks to ClickUp for me so I can read and get to work right away!

Heavy emphasis on woo-woo pop culture and mass media hype trends. Useless if you want to make progress in life or at least draw meaningful distinctions. Upon installation you get to choose the topics you are most interested in. The app doesn't regard your choices when you begin using it. Uninstalling it. Should have made it clear in the description that the app is for the new age world savers.

About the app: Very smooth and we'll designed, works fine and fast. Simple and effective. About the product: good library of books and the narrators are quite good. However, reduce a audiobook of 10-15 hours to 15-30min most of the time it feels too much for me. I guess 2 h may work just fine for me. Maybe my books selection has been in topics that I crave for more details. I guess that I should use this service for books that I'm moderately interested in or as a preview of full books.

The selection algorithm is probably non existant and just for show. Regardless of your choices the app will push the same selections you turned down or explicitly said you're not interested in. This gives me the impression that the app is not actually catering for you the reader but for the publishers and their publications regardless of your interests... If I say I am not interested in a book or an author, I don't want to keep seeing it popping up on every screen... Simple, yet unachievable!

This is the perfect reading app for me. I LOVE studying books on empowerment, self-improvement, leadership, building character, etc., but would never have the time to read all the ones that interest me. This app not only has almost every interesting self help book on the market, but they summarize each book into just under 15 or 20 minutes and highlight the main points for you! I've spent less than 2 hours total on Blinkist so far and read through 9 books & I'm able to apply what I learn quicker

I really love this app..the summaries are top notch however I would give it 5 stars if certain things are done to make the user interface better 1. I believe there should be an option to save a collection to your library or favorite because makes it so inconvenient to keep on searching it 2. When you click on a long highlight, its suppose to take to the direct place in the book where it was highlighted instead it takes you to the last place you read in the book and you have to scroll yourself

I love this app. Being able to accurately get the key ideas and more of so many books and podcasts saves time and money. You can also assess the particular focuses different authors see as their missions. Having several autoimmune diseases and ADD, at times I've been almost paralysed with anxiety, pain and indecision. Becoming diabled was very demoralizing. I'm so thankful that I can easily use this to keep learning, growing and making decisions as I reinvent my life.

i find myself not having time to read books. I'm neither a slow nor fast reader, but I do enjoy getting snipets of information to stimulate myself for the day, to understand things that I would otherwise read. Blinkist is perfect for me. with great diversity and sometimes very evocative information, its hard to ignore this app

Great actionable summaries of lengthy books. If, like me, you're perfectly willing to evaluate conclusions on something less than pages and pages of supporting evidence and just want to skip to the action points, Blinkist is for you. I just spent five minutes learning how to make better decisions, rather than spending two days reading a whole book. Great way to learn smarter rather than harder.

Update: Fantastic - now supports Chromecast and Android Auto so I can use the audio anytime. And kudos to the dev for following up! Original: Android auto is missing Please add support for Android Auto - critical for commuting to have Blinkist easily available. Update: I also noticed there is no way to cast this audio easily to my smart speakers like I can in other apps. For an audio-focused app, that's another non-starter if I'm going to pay after my free one-year trial.

the UX is terrible. can't go back to chapters i've just heard. once it auto starts a new book i have to come out of app to go back to the one i was listening to. just bad design. good idea and content but bad execution. miles off the quality of Audible's interface.

I found this application from my very favourite youtuber where he was talking about improving yourself and better understanding of anything else important in life. I personally found it very helpful because it improves my reading experience and also listening too. The Fact is i found it really helpful too to know about the different kinds of mindsets and different kinds of thoughts and get help from the experience they have. I would definitely recommend this application for keen learners. 🥰

I bought the subscription and was really happy with the content, but the player and queue system is very annoying, when I by mistake try playing another book then the current book which was playing (before tapping on new one) just goes off from the queue Many other improvements needed in the player Thank you

Providing short snippets everyday is something that has worked wonders for me, especially with my schedule (and maybe a short attention span), and also especially because it offers me a way to engage with materials in a way that I can manage them with my not so great reading skills. I can now in essence get the same key messages from a book in a fraction of the time :)

Len. B. Apr 25, 2022

Too much emphasis on shortcasts ..... Reading summaries of non- fiction books have become secondary. Most likely will not renew my subscription which ends in a few months. Update realted to the Blinkest bot. I have provided feedback. After the feedback there was even more emphasis on shortcasts.

Not worth what you are paying for ! I read the daily free blinks as to find new books that catch my intreasts. I personally use blinkist as an app that can introduce me to a book and helps me decide whether to invest time on reading the book or not, it is better than reading a review. And also to quickly brush up the key ideas and jist of the books you have already read. I look forward to buying a subscription if it ever falls under the 200₹/mo range.

Sal. B. May 2, 2022

Do not expect a reminder email before your trial expires, as was promised when I signed up. The blinks are simply too brief to be meaningful. I have listened to a handful in a year. Unsubscribing is not simple. Disappointing all round. And I am not one to give a low rating in general!

Man. L. Mar 13, 2022

I have used it for a few days and intend to continue. So far I like the concept as it introduces me to a lot more ideas by different authors. If I want to know more about any of them, I can always decide to read the entire book. One piece of feedback: Why is the app suggesting to continue read one summary if I have already marked it as complete? That doesn't make sense. In one case I even had to restart the app. Looks as if bugs are present.

Abi. M. Apr 16, 2022

Unfortunately can't talk about the service itself as it's not for me but I'm leaving the good review for their customer service. I had some issues cancelling my free trial and was worried the charge was going to go through, but their customer service was easy to email and quickly helped me out! So I appreciate that.

The idea is great love it. My experience with the app is not so great. Downloads list is not showing up on my phone. Also download only work once? Next random book automatically start playing without my interaction. I like to digest one book before the next one is crammed. Pressing the play blinks button from a certain book starts playing blinks of another book. Normally my phone is not acting up and apps behave like expected. But this app's behaviour is wanting me to stop my subscription.
