BlockSite - Block Distracting Apps & Sites

Works on chrome as well as on the default browser. I would put 4 stars because of the limitation of the free version but that's not how we give note to softwares. It's working, it's cool, it doesn't have intrusive ads and it has a chrome extension that does the same and can be synced with the android app.

The app works fine and intended. However, the advertising for this app is too aggressive. I never of this app until I downloaded it and set it up. Now pretty much every ad on YouTube is trying to convince me to get an app I already have. I tried to ignore it, but it's too much. I started blocking ads, but I'm still doing it as they're are many. Even as I come to the play store, it recommends to all in the ad section. It's ridiculous amount of ads.

I paid for the annual subscription on March 29th but honestly, this app has always been hit or miss. Today the app freaked out and suddenly turned on Do Not Disturb mode. It couldn't be turned off no matter what, and even after uninstalling my phone said BlockSite was still controlling Do Not Disturb. Now, after reinstalling, I can't restore the annual subscription purchase. This app is a glitchy mess that only works part of the time. Don't waste your time or money. I just want a refund.

I love this app, and it usually works great. However, doing some testing, I found out a way around blocksite. On certain phones you can open up an app on split screen view or pop up view. By doing this, it overrides the blocksite blocker. I would greatly appreciate if this was fixed soon, as I rely on this blocker a lot.

While the app has been fantastic for the most part, I wish I could not easily deactivate or unanistall the app just by going to my settings. If there's a feature that lets me wait a few mins, hours, or even days before unanistalling in an attempt to stop me from doing it or making any changes to it, that would be awesome. I'm looking forward to more from this app in the future with great features.

Worked for first few minutes, then stopped working completely , i tried to reset many times but doesn't work. In accessibility settings it's showing"this function is malfunctioning" Edited :- working completely fine it was a accessibility issue but I don't know why it happened to this because I am using a lot of apps which required accessibility and this never happened to any app before . But now it's alright working perfectly !!

This app has been very effective for me though the blocking feature is very easy to get around. By using the site redirect menu when trying to open a blocked app or website it will take you straight into the app without asking for a password. From there you can simply turn off the "blocking on/off" feature and completely shut down the app. Other than that blocksite has been very helpful for me so far but this certain loophole just renders the entire app pointless.

Looked like what I wanted. Opened the app for the first time, read the terms of service and privacy notice and NOPED out of it immediately. If you value your privacy and don't want to hand over your usage/browsing data so they can provide you with 'helpful' analytics (and mine you data so it can be sold), stay well clear. Ridiculous from an app that offers a subscription. I understand apps that are free need a way to monitise the service but when you have a subscription option..........

While it is a great app for avoiding distractions, helps me stay on pace with my responsibilities and keeps me from wasting time, I have one issue. It blocks an app/site for most of the time, but at a certain point it stops blocking and you have to unblock and block once more, frequently. If. Not for this constant issue, I would definitely recommend.

I will delete this app. It doesn't do much good. I think I actually get more annoying ads and apps. The most annoying part is that even if this app blocks a site, it shows it, so I am still being distracted from my phone call or game.

Discovered a major issue! The site redirect and block web page does not work properly on Firefox mobile. When navigating to a blocked site, the redirect will open a new tab with the redirected page but keep the initial tab open with the blocked content. The blocked content is then navigable and visible. Please fix this on Firefox!! This is a MAJOR bug! The functionality works properly on Chrome.

Did not like the idea to allow accessibility access to this app. Edit: Tried and - full of ads, No Dark mode. Android users can just use power saving, battery saving mode with few apps enabled and will get the same result without downloading anything and enabling accessibility access.

For the first months it works but most of the time it doesn't then completely wont work. I know the accessibility in settings. I check it everytime some apps doesn't work like this but my accessibility is on.

Good app, but... it would be perfect if there was a simple tool that would give you a bunch of randomized text to write out in order to unlock your phone. I would even pay for something like that.

I have this 5 stars prior, but I'm noticing some issues. It would be really useful if I can program what days are the schedules. Like I'm off Fridays anytime after 2pm, I dont need to block everything until 5 like most other days. If you can fix that I'd love to give 5 stars again :) Still love it

I love this app. It works great for blocking the sites I want to block. I also appreciate that it blocks by key words. Unfortunately, the price seems to be going up tremendously. It was $2 per month. I received an email saying it was going up to $5 per month. I may be trying to find a new option.

You have to give this app full control of your phone to use it. Meaning it can view your screen and even interact with apps "on your behalf." Completely freaking insane. All I want is an app to block a site I want to stop going to, I'm not giving you control of my phone!

I love this app for helping with time management. The ability to block keywords, apps, and websites is very useful. There are also nuanced controls for scheduling blocks at different times. Helps with productivity! Also, customer support was very fast to respond and helpful. The free version is great but I eventually upgraded to be able to block more sites after using it for a year.

Pretty effective, but you have to put a password in to turn it back on after you've finished wasting time, which discourages me from turning it back on. Edit: Thanks for the reponse. It would be better for me as a user if the password were to aceess the ability to turn off blocksite, and could easily be switched back on without password.

Used it to block the biased bbc who seem to want to break up the uk. I found even though i can't stand the bbc i would find myself picking up the phone without realising and looking at thier site (which was stressing me out). This app blocka it not only on chrome but on firefox too. Also use it on my desktop. Feel better for it already and its only been a few days.

I appreciate that this app offers the ability to limit time on or block apps, but I didn't find the website blocker part to be very helpful, b/c it doesnt work in my android chrome app. Maybe it's more useful when upgraded, but I'm broke so idk? This is a problem for me, b/c I usually use the facebook mobile site, but this app doesnt do anything for that. I've made it work by limiting the chrome app on my phone when I'm working and blocking fb using the screentime chrome extension for my laptop.

This app worked well on my Pixel 2, but on my Pixel 6 Pro running Android 12, the accessibility service malfunctions. That means the app is useless for me right now. EDIT: It started working without my intervention.

Thank God this exists so I was on Google and wanted to change my wallpaper and I clicked on this website and clicked allow adds but I didn't realize that it was an weird website SO I kept getting pop up adds and it was VERY ANNOYING so I downloaded this app at first I thought it was one of those scam sites but its NOT it works so please download this app it works 😁😁😁

Works great, but would be five stats if a password was also required to deactivate the uninstall feature. Not very helpful when just anyone can turn off the uninstall feature.

It successfully manages to incline the user to avoid distracting apps and sites. I mean, one look at the old lady's eyes (could be man) tells it all if you know what I mean

I have purchased a yearly subscription as I am happy with the service provided. However the reason I am currently giving it two stars is. After accidentally uninstalling the app I reinstalled it and now it's asking me to uprage to use anything. Even though I am already a premium user

Amazing app !! When I click a blocked app , reminds me I should get back to work and probably forget about procrastinating:)it also has study timers to go with the app blockers ..25 mins study , 5 mins break !! Amazing app again 100 percent recommended!!! (btw I got the free version)

Selling data, are we??? Zero stars. Immediately uninstalled. Requires "full control of device," (direct quote) and permission to "read all content" on screen at all times. I wanted a simple website blocker, not an invisible stalker. I'll tell you where you can stick this app.

Its working awesome for me... I have blocked facebook and insta.. everytime I try to open it says... You have added this to blocksite its there for a reason... Go back.. sometimes it doesn't work may be bcz of some glitch.. but most of the time it works.. 🤍
