I like rapid pass but I feel like setting future dates appointments is WAY more complicated & confusing than it needs to be. Especially based on donation type. Appt setting should be as simple as it is adding something to your calendar on a specific date. No hunt and pecking. One place. Simple! Also why are supplies "dangerously low" and RC is NOT HIRING, & opening with bare bones staff at 11:00 am...(not even all days) & available bookings are backed up weeks out due to available hours?
This is such a great app with so many great features! I love doing the Rapid Pass to save time. Really, it's everything you need all on your phone! The blood journey is awesome, to see the process after you donate. Capture the Moment is fun for a selfie opp to share and inspire others. Love the history/record keeping aspect, too.
Update: The app is malfunctioning. I've gone through the rapidpass twice and instead of completing it and saving my info, it just closes it doesn't save my information. Very annoying. Otherwise great app, easy to navigate. Good information access.
Very helpful and consistent; I can have all of my information updated within hours of donating. Too bad it's stuck in portrait mode, because otherwise it would be perfect.
Starting with the version 2.2.0 update, the "view past donations" screen was blank. That bug continued in versions 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.3.1, and 2.3.2. Version 2.4.0 fixed all issues, and all updates since have been working great.
None of the data I entered in the app was actually used at the donation site. They had to manually enter everything again on their system. App provided them none of the data. And I used rapid pass too! But the app lets me take a picture of myself, so I guess it does something of value.
The App seems to be very informative and put together well. I had to read pretty much the whole thing because I was looking for specific instructions on donating after having contracted covid and it doesn't have that information in the app I had to call a specialist but at least you had a specialist number to be able to call and that was great
I use this when I do not receive contact from Red Cross telephonically. I also use it to complete the rapid pass and incorporate my history and blood type card prior to the existence of this app. It can be complicated if I need to reschedule my appointment.
Intuitive design, slick graphics, easy to use for finding Red Cross blood drives, scheduling appointments, and completing RapidPass. A few nits to pick: it sometimes suggests appointments from earlier that day and, if you do not complete your RapidPass before the appointment, leaves the "Complete your RapidPass" button on the main screen for the whole day. Also had occasional "outages" where usual "next 14 days" search returned nothing but specific day searches worked. Beyond that, great app.
A big help with setting appointments and finding blood drives. The ability to prescreen is a big help and saves time when giving blood.
The app works very well. It is easy to navigate and very convenient. It contains all the information one would want about donating and blood donation history.
The app crashes consistently on a pixel 3 and now on a pixel 6. I've never been able to do a screening or set up an appointment on it. It's unfortunate; it seems like a great idea but the fact that it crashes on two separate phones consistently makes me wonder if there aren't serious problems that need to be addressed.
Why is it so difficult to make an appt? I dl'd the app & created an acct. I found a drive on the website of where I'd like to go, but it's not listed in the app. So I try to sign into the website using my newly created account & it tells me it's invalid. Guess they don't really want my blood, ffs...
The app is good for scheduling an appointment but I can find anywhere ehere it shows when I can give next. It needs a better donation history with information of when you can give next. I would give blood more often but I am never quite sure when I can give again, so I delay longer than needed.
Really appreciate Red Cross and all of the good they do. But as far as this app goes, I'm just not sure. I made an appointment the other day and did RapidPass but when I arrived at the blood drive they had no record of it. Showing them my text from ARC and the RapidPass was irrelevant. I dont know if that was the apps fault or just a failure to sync with the system. But I ended up not bring able to donate. Will try again
This app has such potential to be really great, but it just isn't. I don't like how it doesn't connect the rapid pass to the app if you take it outside of the app. There should be a way to connect it. I also can never schedule my next donation immediately after a donation. I like to schedule it while I am thinking of it. There is no availability no matter how I change the search parameters. I wish there was an option to look at a calendar and pick a drive when the Smart Scheduling doesn't work.
They've recently stopped displaying any of my information, and to top it off, the scheduling system seems to be broken. If I use the website to find local blood drives, I can see plenty. But on the app now it keeps saying there are no local drives that meet my criteria. Even if I put in NYC, blood, anytime, over the next 14 days, it says "No drives match your search". Seems like the app is no longer connecting to their backend.
No way to filter out full appointment days makes this app borderline unusable for my busy urban area. If I'm scheduling less than three weeks out, I have to manually click thru after twenty different drives to find one with openings. This would be easy to fix. Otherwise a good app. Not intrusive, easy interface, responsible with my calendar.
This app makes it easier to donate and to put appointments on my calendar, really like the new blood pressure and hemoglobin historical charts, but ... Sure wish it would let me explore other appointment times available without first having to cancel my existing appointment. That missing feature has caused me to lose my appointment and not be able to book a comparable new one, so big gaps in donation timing. Too bad.
