The app worked beautifully on Android 6.0 with no force closes. Now since I have gone to Android 8.1, all I get is "BloomSky has unexpectedly stopped". I really enjoy using my Sky1 weather station and being able to check it's status at the touch of an icon and I know I could go to the Web Portal but thats the whole idea of having an app. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be much support for the devices as well but I do hope the folks at BloomSky will get the app fixed soon.
Great weather station, but the app unfortunately doesn't back it up as it only provides current readings. Would be great to have access to your recent and historical data through appropriate graphs and charts. Having to go to the web portal for the data is not great.
The BloomSky app, version 3.2.4, works reasonably well for me in Android 9 Pie. After first letting everything charge I was able to setup three weather stations, consisting of Sky2 & Storm devices, without much effort. My only frustration is that I want to be able to initiate firmware updates via the app, which is not yet possible without contacting Support; please let us submit the update request then popup a notification when it's being pushed to our device, & if we need to plug in first, etc.
Looks like they are trying hard, but damn it's klunky! Not sure my Sky/Storm are connected. Do they communicate, do they report as one? No idea, it won't show me! I'm a technology savvy person and I can't figure it out. It appears to me I am so abstracted from the device as to be worthless to me. Where is the API? Not too happy....
widget doesnt always update, and has to be recreates after app update. with the latest update the app is now named "Library" not BloomSky. Hope someone fixes that. Rain notifications stopped working for me a long time ago. All other hardware is fine, but as others have noted the over app is pretty low quality. i hope the recent updates mean it will get improved, though initial updates don't seem promising.
App is simple to use, lately the only issue is the servers have been in the fritz so I'm missing my daily timelapses, which is a bit frustrating. Update: timelapses are completely down. Server issues not being addressed, emails ignored.
Loved my Bloomsky over the years. It just has become buggy and unreliable. Drops connection. No time lapse. Customer device is spotty. Seems like they are going out of business. Sad.
The unique features which made me invest in a Bloomsky no longer work. Support is non existent. Showed great promise but fell short on so many levels. Try asking the users what they want out of the hard and software, if there is a cost to it then offer a premium version. There is so much unfulfilled potential here.
Doesn't work. Can't see anything images from other users with the camera. Can't find anything when I search. It just shows me a map with a blue dot where I am. App seems to have a lot of bugs and needs a lot of work. It's really too bad because this would be great if it actually worked well.
app is reasonable - hardware is best described as unsuitable for use ( had 2 sky2- both broke down within approx 3 months .....modified power supply ( removed battery ) and second sky2 now continues. storm pcb board failed after a year ) concept is fine but system does notvwork continuously. dashboard has coding problem....margin menu not withdraw after selecting data view. .....and this app is now called library!!
GREAT App. But the latest update has messed up the widget as others have stated. It's constantly shutting down so that the widget doesnt give latest information. Have to close it and road widget. Was under 'library' as someone stated.. A phone reboot took care of that
useless. unable to edit favorites. always puts device in wrong state. one of the worst apps i have encountered. Now, timelaps servers are offline, support phone disconnected, email never answered or bounces. Product is DOA
other than a small amount of maintenance it has been a real joy to have Bloomsky. I particularly like being able to check other's Bloomsky weather ! it would be good if there was a list of cities where there are other Bloomsky sites, and be notified each time a new site comes online.
Storm 2 failed circuit board got gamp and corroded no conformal coating on a outdoor device!#$$% sky no longer creates a time lapse other data and camera show up when called up ok along with data. Poor software and not hardened for weather exposures
Bloomsky is a thing of the past. Zero product support and literally no way to buy a replacement battery on their website. I just threw the whole unit in a box and it's next stop is to the landfill.
As of late, this stinks. Unanswered emails and telephone attempts. Is Bloomsky still in business? Units do not work any longer. Everything appears to be offline.
Used to be the best skycams out there and now none of your video timelapses work when checking cameras.. this apps horrid now and useless so myswell delete your app completely..
My device keeps showing offline in the app, but is online in Wunderground. My device has never listed in the Bloomsky map, despite writing to tech support. Expensive toy with poor execution by the developers. I see them going out of business soon.
Questionable and unnecessary permissions. Also, no longer returning emails or calls when you have problems with their hardware.
No phone customer service. So fixing an issue could take days and days with back-and-forth emails. Exhaustively frustrating!
The app does not do temperature conversions. Just adds the unit in celcius to the end of the number last given in Fahrenheit. Which means "we be burning not concerning what nobody wanna say"!
Latest update made app icon dissapear. No amount of reinstalling/clearing cache helps EDIT: LOL now the icon is back but it just says "library"
WiFi is very spotty compared to our Oregon weather station. Unit looks nice BUT not of much use!
Excellent little weather station. Runs on solar panel and survives Maine winters.
Cannot swipe metadata down off the Cam image completely on the Blackberry KeyONE (android).
Great product. Stable and functional. Very useful. I use it in extreme weather conditions where the max temp is +50°C in the shade. Went through the first season with flying colors. Great work! Keep it going. Update: Unfortunately, support is none responsive. Not a good sign for the product!
