I think the game's great, and it mixes both elements of a city game and a BTD game. However, I have been experiencing a problem that has made the game much harder to enjoy. In the game, there's an ad whenever you capture a tile. Now, I don't mind ads, but whenever the ad ends and I'm back to the game, my game immediately crashes. Is this a bug, or is it my phone?
I really like this game. It's fun, creative, and addicting. The only problem I have are with this the numerous ads!!! Everytime you capture land or do a event an ad pop's up. they are annoying, pointless and unskipable. Don't take my word for it. Sooooo many other people agree that the worst part about Monkey City are the ads! But this game is still great and I would strongly recommend to other's but I'm still giving it four stars because of the ads. PS: there are also some glitches in the game.
The positives are that it is technically a free to play friendly game. There are micro transactions in the game though, you don't need to pay to advance though. There's also plenty to do. A difficulty curve, boss fights, sort of PvP stuff. So it's fun. The bad? I paid to get rid of ads, yet I still get ads for their other games. Even one I already have. It's pretty annoying. Some levels feel absurdly difficult despite being rated as easy and vice versa. You may end up with city gaps for ages.
I think that this game is great. It has a lot of details, and is also similar to Bloons TD 5. Same towers and the prices are similar I think. The events make the game extra-fun. It also doesn't annoy you with loads of ads like other games. One thing that annoys me is when I watch ads to get buildings finished, it automatically uses my bloonstones after a few tries.
Overall 4 stars. Great game. Doesnt have a life system, you can play for a long time without needing to stop. Not five stars because higher upgrades require to wait long amounts of time to finish the upgrade. You can skip this by using bloonstones and those cost money. Edit: I had an issue with my account and when I went to the support team, they were quick and fixed my account. Youwould think they wouldnt because of BTD6 but they're still fixing here. I would recommend this game to other people. The only thing I do not like about it is of the numerous amount of ads. It keeps on showing me an ad every time after I play a level. But other than that I think the game is really creative, fun, defensive and adventurous. So I think that other people should play it to just to have fun. There was also this bug I had and everytime I played on it it kept on switching me to offline mode so all my banana farms would have like 2 or 3 city cash ready.
One issue I have with the game is that watching optional 30 second ads gives you ONE Bloonstone, which is MUCH less useful than skipping 15 minutes of building construction. It needs to either be bumped up to 3 or 5 Bloonstones each, or give a random amount from 1-10 or something (with an EQUAL chance of each, not a 1% chance for 10, and so on. Though, even that would be better than the current way it works). This won't be read or ever considered by NK, but oh well. Still a good game, though.
Great game, BUT: The in-app purchases are pricey, and if you don't pay for them, it takes forever to progress. One simple upgrade (of which there are hundreds), can take up to 3 days. Also, there are alot of ads. 30 second videos spammed constantly that drain your data. Still, I'm giving four stars because it's a well made game and you can ultimately play it for free (if you have loads of patience and a ton of data to spare).
The game itself is quite enjoyable, although a little repetitive over time. If you've enjoy other bloon tower defence games then you'll probably enjoy this. The biggest negative is the adverts, I'm aware they're needed however, they can be much worse than other apps you'll often get forced to watch 45 second unskipable ads, and they can come up at incovient times. The ads don't completely ruin it, but they do reduce the enjoyment considerably.
10/10 would reccomend, this game is awesome, it's got the right amount of difficulty, but nothing that can't be worked around with some hard work. Love the fact that there's no limited plays/lives, makes the playing experience so much better because you don't have a must-win style to approaching each level. You can play as long as you want, as often as you want.
Overall a fantastic game. The one thing I don't like is how the forced ads show up right when you start doing something to your base. I wouldn't mind if there was a little timer until the next, or better yet let us choose when to play one in a 2-3 min time window. I've come across 2 bugs so far, which have both occured several times: - It's crashed occasionally after an ad finished (it still counted the ad, at least) - Occasionally the sound just stops working and I have to restart
Great game, i really love the different biomes and the fact that you can't use some monkeys in some places or some get a favorable discount depending on the biome. I like that there's tons of different things to do and the escalating difficulty as you go farther out. It's a pretty simple game, it's fun and it's fun for a td game in my opinion. My only qualm is that it becomes repetitive quickly if there were randomly generated levels where they were all different it'd be more enticing
It's a cheap little game that throws ads in between mini games sometimes and the meat of the game itself can often be inaccessible because of the difficulty that's being stacked against your level. That said, I'm still playing, which is like checkbox number one. If you want a simple strategy game you might feel let down for a good while at the start, as you can't get to MOABS and larger balloons until you'd leveled high enough to be able to combat them.
This is the best of all the Bloons TD games. I love that it has the casual style of a city-building sim and the exciting gameplay classic to Bloons games. The best part is that it's not pay-to-win - one can still play for free and not have to worry about getting wiped out by paying players. All it takes to reach and maintain success it a little bit of strategy. This is such a fun game - one of my favorites - and I highly recommend it to all who are looking for a simple yet intense challenge.
It is an amazing game, and combined an introductory style of play and a veteran challenge at the same time. the only problem is the infrequent crashes throughout the day, and the very consistent crashing everytime I try to connect with Facebook. If you fix this, the game will be a lot better.
Way too many ads. After every level I cleared I got a 30 second long ad. You became greedy. I remember playing this game a few years ago (the reason I re-downloaded it was because it was fun), and there were close to no ads (unless you choose to play one). Nowadays, it just starts to play them. The game is pretty fun but I don't want to spend more time watching ads then actually playing the game.
Good game. Has a bit too many ads for me, but thats only when i'm constantly capturing land. One major problem is that you can delete nonessential buildings with a simple hold+tap, and I accidentally did this to clear space for my 5th banana farm, and now i have to grind for money just to get it all back. If the devs add another warning screen before deleting a building, i'll bump it up to 5 stars.
It's a very fun game, gives a kind of story mode. I just wish they kept it updated with the other btd games, adding new towers and the maybe the new upgrade path. I also wish the music and sound volumes were on sliders, not on or off. Other than it's an amazing game with great gameplay, hard to get bored with it.
I have always been the biggest fan of ninjakiwi and I'm always supportive of their games, they're always fantastic. There is a huge problem in the mobile version of bloons monkey city where every three tiles you capture, a 30 ad is forced. this isn't a big deal, except when it ends, you have the option to replay it, or close your game, I'm sure it's a big, but its frustrating nonetheless. I'll change this to the 5-star rating this game deserves when/if this issue is fixed.
This game is sooo addictive and I can't stop playing this game! From the good graphics to the Awesome music, th game is an absolute impressment. Things cost a lot of city coins once you reach about level 10, but that just encourages you to play more and capture more squares for your town, and coins. There are only two problems, one, my OCD triggers when I place some thing incorrect and I spend 30 minutes trying to get it in order, and that the Impoppable levels are harder than the boss ones.
One of the best Bloons games! The combination of tower defence and city building makes for a fun experience, especially with unique building types, like the MvM building class. There are optional payments and I might get one, there are ads, but they're not too bad and other cool stuff like Contested Territory and events are awesome! The main problem I have is the infrequent updating, as the game was last updated in September 2020. But it's still highly recommended!
As a fan of the bloons games, this one is a great city building game for bloons fans. I like the game, but I have one thing that keeps me from giving five stars. The contested territory. Its a good way to get city cash, knowledge packs, and other valuable things such as boosts. But it gets way too hard too fast. It sends a ridiculous amount of lead, rainbow, and ceramics to where it overwhelms your defense every single time. They need to nerf the contested territory but overall a fun game.
A great edition to the BTD series. It plays in the same style as BTD5 and BTD Battles, and has crossplay between release platforms. One small gripe is that the cloud saves aren't automatic, you have to go to the settings and manually create a cloud save to transfer progress. Unlike the Steam release, the mobile version has ads after each game, but they can be easily avoided by closing and re-opening the game. The upside is that you can speed up timers on the mobile version by watching ads.
Love this game! Wish they would still update it but honestly I still love it either way. It's a nice twist on bloons tower defense games. I like the city building aspect of it while you're still getting classic Bloons defense. Wish there was a way to play with friends though, Facebook connect isn't working. So the quest to play with friends will never get completed.
