How does blue light damage the eyes?
The cornea, situated at the front of the eye, is a transparent cover that protects your iris, pupil, and anterior chamber. Light passes through the cornea and pupil before the crystalline lens focuses it on the retina.
High-energy blue-violet light in the narrow 415nm (violet) to 455nm (blue) is particularly damaging to eyes, in particular the lens and retina. The blue band of the light spectrum yields more energy and can pass straight through your eye – resulting in myopia (near-sightedness) and macular degeneration.
Blue light from LCD/OLED displays may cause eye damage, strains, headaches, and sleep disorders. Children are more susceptible to eye damage because their crystalline lens is less effective in filtering out blue-light, adding to the risk of age-related macular degeneration.
Scientific Research Findings
Blue light suppresses the production of melatonin, the hormone responsible for regulating wake and sleep cycles, leading to longer wake times, and sometimes insomnia.
Affects blood and temperature regulation, as well as your blood sugar levels.
Affect people's moods, depending on their personality, and is sometimes linked to depression.
High exposure is linked to retinal toxicity, leading to irreversible damage to the eyes' retina and cornea.
Results in higher rates of cataracts and macular degeneration.

I was hoping for an app that i wouldn't notice running in the background. No other app i have has a constant notification dot and a big banner on my locked screen. Also it doesn't dim the buttons at the bottom of the screen. I've tried a few blue light apps and they all seem to have the same issues. For me the annoyance outweighs the benefits so im uninstalling it.
Excellent App. Works on my Tab A form factor, has notification bar capability. Easy to use, provides different color filters and intensity. You can schedule when it turns on and off. Intuitive UI. No ads. Much better and faster than other Blue Light filters I have tried, which have NONE of these features.
I used this app for years and loved that it was completely customizable. I recently bought a new Samsung tablet and on Android 11 this app crashes a lot. All. The Time. I had to stop using it. It's a pity because it was great before this.
I just installed this, because the filter I'd been using, and paid for, had started frequently shutting off, nearly blinding me. Well this one is worse. Every time I used the back key on my phone, it shuts off. EVERYTIME. This is worthless. Glad I didn't pay for this one. Uninstalling now.
The only app in Play store which shade or dark half-screen works on other apps. It is only after extensive search that I found this app. All the rests blue light filter show half-screen shade on the app but full-screen on other apps. Could you make the widget with change colours, please. Great developer.
This app does exactly what it says and is what I was looking for. I like having the tiny blue dot on my screen all the time so I can adjust it with ease and convenience. It can be repositioned on the screen also, another A+! Thanks. L
Good but not 100% consistent, sometimes it closes all of a sudden and you get blasted with light, it happens rather randomly. Doesn't happen very often though. Still the best light filter, the amount of dimming is crazy!
This app is simple to understand and does a good job of blocking the blue light, it has different filter colors which great. Helps a lot while reading ebooks at night. There is 1 problem tough I can't use it with Mah Jong infinite, it is as if this app filter doesn't allow the game buttons to function. But my main use if for reading. Didn't try it much with other apps, but the Mah Jong
It doesn't work at first on my phone, but I went to apps permission setting on my phone and enable display pop up window, then it works like a charm. The most light weight app I've found, easy to use and ad-free. What not to love?!
This one is good and I've found I can put this one on SD card which saves room on my phone. I like the colours and how you can dim the the filter to your liking and the widget is handy. Having no annoying adds or in app purchases is great.
Does exactly what it says and nothing more. tiny app with low processor usage, single timer slot, multiple different colors and saturations. Completely ad free and at no cost! Excellent app with scientific research backing its mission statement
I love this app and the newer version. However, I got a new phone (android 10) for some reason it kept shutting off. I have this on my tablet for almost a year and installed this right now. Love the colors, especially the red one. Thanks.
To me this is the best bluelight filter on the store. It is lite, no intrusive ads, and simple and easy to use, so practical.
1st bluelight filter app that you have made as that what I and every one thinks that it is light, so bright light, safe eyes, very comfortable, but sometimes the color of filter impacts our eye a lot filter is somewhat light to avoid
It just works. No intrusive ads, which is great, and an expectation for such a simple utility as a screen filter.
As usual timer doesn't work when you set it up. ive tried over 7 different filters and they all have the same problem with activating.

it is alright it works perfectly fine except for when you turn off the phone the app doesn't stay awake and you have to open the app again
The first app which took 5 star rating from me it decreases brightness and helps me a lot.thanks to this app.no storage problems as well.only 89 kb no ads.no need of connecting to internet ,we can make a small widget very much useful application.I like it download it today!

Works well, but consumes battery, as real screen brightness unaltered behind the colored flim of the app.

Great app, super for low storage devices! I've used for years on numerous devices with no problems. Would be lost without it. Although Android 11 has a problem with screen overlays (among many other things😒) it still works fine. A quick settings toggle provides an easy work-around for the occasional times when it's in the way. Well worth the small extra gesture.
