Blue Sleep Therapy

Covered in the Wall Street Journal! Use blue light therapy to gently lull yourself to sleep naturally and safely.
Blue light has been shown to help reset the body's Circadian rhythm. This silent sleep aid works by gently projecting soft blue light onto your wall or ceiling, guiding your breathing to a quick and restful sleep, and in the morning replace your coffee with a blue light sunrise!

The illumination rises and falls over a customizable time period slowing and dimming to a gradual power-off. The cycling encourages breathing patterns that lead to a faster more relaxing night's sleep.

Spending time indoors surrounded by white artificial light can disrupts the body's natural sleep/wake cycle known as the Circadian rhythm. Aging only exacerbates the problem. But research has shown that the use of blue light before bed and upon rising can promote the reset of your body's Circadian rhythm, necessary to sleep through the night and ward off Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Help your baby sleep through the night. Blue light, timed before bed and upon waking, has even been shown to help regulate the sleep cycle for infants and toddlers.

Get over jet lag faster! Jet Lag is the body's response to confusing Circadian cues. Reset this and get to sleep faster by using Blue Sleep Therapy in the morning and night!

Multiple 1-button preset routines can be used in the morning or before bed, and, unlike white noise machines, this silent app's soft blue tones won't disturb a sleeping partner.

Standalone products offering similar features have been referenced in health magazines, news reports and books such as the "The 4 Hour Body", but these products are hardly affordable, often reaching prices of $50
- $150. This app replaces those products while offering customization and timely updates.

Interface optimized for screens of all sizes including Android Tablets such as the Motorola Xoom, Acer Iconia and Galaxy Tab.

This app requires an internet connection to collect and report usage analytics using Flurry. No personal information is collected, the data is used by us to improve it based on popular usage.

While coached breathing techniques are widely accepted and used to help a person relax and enter a restful state, the research on Blue Light therapy is incomplete, and there are conflicting opinions on it, so we provide a selection of articles written for the layperson supporting the use of lighting and breathing cycles to help sleep:

I struggle to sleep at night and usually find myself up till 4am. One strange thing, after using it for the first time last night I had nightmares and kept waking up which is very strange as I never get nightmares unless I'm ill. Maybe its just a coincidence. Thank you so much for this, you've helped a lot! A MUST BUY.

I'm so happy I found this app. I've had a terrible time sleeping lately, and the the blue light really seems to be helping. The only thing that I would like to see changed/added is a way to customize the speed on the breathing setting. I don't breathe as fast as the light dims/brightens so that setting doesn't work well for me. If I could slow it down, it would be perfect.

Haven't a clue how it does it but at night the sunset setting sends me to sleep quicker than I've ever managed in the previous 53 years & in the morning sunrise makes getting out of bed relaxed a pleasure. I had one minor problem after several weeks of use & the developer responded straight away and was extremely helpful. (I use in conjunction with sleep like android which I can just about switch on before falling asleep completely)

Updating review to 2 stars. Here's the deal. This app is good as a blue light, but customization and utility is awful. As a paid app, these should be better. What it needs: alarm clock functionality...how hard to add a feature that starts sunrise at a specified time? Also needed, options for customizing breathe cycle. 5 seconds on, 5 second off could be allowed to change seconds or allow slowing from one speed to another. Also, ability to turn off app or screen or both at end of a cycle (sunset).

Adding a function where sunrise could be set to start at a particular time and the breathe function could be slowed down some at the start to better fit my breathing would make this a 5 star app. As it stands, it's useful - but could be better.

Excellent app which does what it says. I wanted to make sure the Sunset light went off when it was supposed to but last night was the first time in a week I've still been awake when it went off. My whole family - parents and siblings - are notorious night owls and I really don't remember ever in my whole life getting to sleep within 20 min. for a whole week. I've even almost dropped off lying on my back which is definitely unheard of. I'd give it 5 stars if you'd update with a function to switch Sunrise on at a certain time!

I know it's not a lot of money but what a waste. No customization options. Woke up and the light never shut off (should have stopped after 20 minutes). How do you get a refund? I think the app has tremendous potential. Needs some additional features like an alarm setting and ability to control pacing that I would be happy to pay for.

This app is an excellent sleep aid, but the sunrise feature seems kind of useless since it's not possible to set a specific time for it to start. Seriously, why would anyone wake up and then hit the sunrise button? This should work like the sunrise devices from Verilux.

This needs integration with alarm clock apps so you can set the app to launch sunrise at a specific time of day. Otherwise spot on.

app keeps on asking if it's a paid version, requiring internet access. i would have given this a perfect 5 but it's so annoying sometimes.

I suggest adding an alarm clock mode where the light gradually increases at the time set. I look forward to working with this app. So far so good

I agree with Tyler, it's a cool app, but when money is involved it should really be more than just a blue screen. Why doesn't sunset mode have a timer? Why can't I just set a Tasker profile to start the sunset event in the morning? There must be a way of getting more out of this than just a blue screen that powers off after 20 minutes?

I put it on the breath setting and it helped me fall asleep on my back which I usually can't do at all in less than twenty minutes. Great app.

If this app could activate when my alarm goes off, it would be epic

Awesome app! After reading 4hb and searching amazon for a blue light, I'm a satisfied customer!

Works as advertised to induce a relaxed sleep state. I look forward to an update with an alarm function to it.

Unfortunately, the pretty light show keeps me and my ADHD self up :/ I really wanted it to work though.

A. G. u. May 21, 2011

This app IS as good as the $250 units; even has better features!

Would be less the one star if I could do so. Was unable to download to my droid x phone.

Simple, but really relaxed me as I tried to sleep.

H.J. P. Apr 8, 2015

I am more awake now than I was when the app started. Maybe I'm an outlier, but that was my experience.

Really you pay for a blue screen...rubbish

Sta. B. Mar 9, 2014

The wake up feature does not have an alarm to wake you up. Worthless.
