BlueScan

The BlueScan Experimentation Platform has been developed in order to help people who are interested in the field of Wireless Communications, Body Sensing Networks and Internet of Things (IoT). The platform can be used for gathering, transferring, evaluating sensing data of in-built sensors and the signal strength of other devices which are within 2.4 GHz short-range radio frequency band. BlueScan will be always a free application with no ads! We will keep the simple user interface for the next versions! There will be no overwhelming and confusing menus or features you don't even know what to do!
Possible applications of BlueScan;



-There are various research using accelerometer-bases motion detectors in order to monitor and assess physical activities including posture and movement classification, estimation of energy expenditure, fall detection and balance control evaluation,

-The platform can be used to study radio signal propagation in indoor environments using smart devices leveraging the Bluetooth specifications,

-Signal Strength (RSSI) measurements can be also used for adaptive distance estimation, indoor localization and tracking where Global Positioning System (GPS) is not available,

-RSSI measurements can be also used in social fields such as examination the social connections, social relations and business development. For instance, the researcher can examine the social relations in a certain event where participants carry smart phones. By examining extracted RSSI values using the platform during this experimental event, based on the correlation between participants RSSI measurements and we may can that which participants are socially related and which participants are not socially related,

-Another interesting use of the application is where signal strength is used for gaining business intelligence by measuring the number of people to enhance user experience in stores, markets and schools. Based on collected data, user can extract important business information such as number of people, the most crowded time of the day or dead hours and later use this information to build a new business strategy.
