Have you ever wanted to get into your car and when Bluetooth connects to your phone the music just starts playing where it left off in the player of your choice?
This app is designed to tie the Bluetooth connect event to playing the music player of your choice. Unlike other auto-play options, this allows you to select the specific player that should be used. Do you want Spotify instead of Google Music Player, you can select that, do you want TuneIn instead of the Core Android music player, no problem.Why would you want this? Some Bluetooth receivers do not play at all, some target the stock music player, this puts you in control of what happens when Bluetooth audio connects.
**Important Note**This App assumes you already have the subject Bluetooth device Paired to your phone using the BT device manufacturer's unique approach. It won't help Pair the device, the list that shows (as in the App picture) is a list of Paired (sometimes called Bonded) devices.
This App starts a Music App by package name and broadcasts "play" to start the player. NOT all players support this. Some players that work:

* iHeart Radio: Best if you select "Play last station on startup"
* Pandora: Must select "Bluetooth for Automotive" in settings

* Network/view Wi-Fi state: support tweak Restore Wifi on disconnect so have to read Wifi state

I use multiple music apps, and so far this is the only bluetooth auto-connect that actually plays from the correct music app that I've selected. Only thing holding it back from 5 stars is the lack of options/features that some of the others have, and it also occationally prevents me from playing music manually when I'm not connected to any Bluetooth device.
Found this by luck, what a wonderful find. Couldn't stand the fact that when I connect to the car my apps started playing automatically. This fixed that. And with bonus tweaks now when I attach my ear buds and Bluetooth speaker I can choose an app to start right away. Very nice job, thank you. Donated to your cause, worth so much more in my book.
Best mobile app ever! It's a life saver. I was having to press the play button on my car stereo touch screen every time I wanted to play my FM app. No longer!!! The longest it ever takes to start playing my FM app is 10 seconds but most times it's either instantaneous as I turn on my car or maybe 5 seconds at most. An app that does exactly what it says it does. They exist.
Not working with that damn spotify "autostart with bt call and play heavy to my ears with full volume" -bug even I set "stop music" tap. Spotify doesn't care, it just plays when it wants to play. Edit: yes, it's some strong bug in spotify and it's with every bt hands free I have had and believe me I have had many. Not your fault and keep trying, I'll rise those stars a bit because of it and from good answer.
Does not really work properly. I thought it's supposed to launch my music app when connected to Bluetooth but it pops up a notification to tap to launch the app instead. I if I had to do that, I can just tap to open the app myself without this app.
I installed connect and play to fix a problem with iHeartRadio which kept popping up every time a Bluetooth device connected. It took months to figure out the problem was actually with shortcutter. It is an app that I installed a year ago and it works great however was creating an issue where it would automatically open iHeartRadio each time a Bluetooth device connected. Within shortcutter I removed the iheart icon and turned off all settings that might affect Bluetooth within the app. Fixed.
THANK YOU. After searching Spotify community and seeing them reject this request 5 times thus app fixes it. Does exactly what it says and more, the custom volumes for each device is a great touch. Donation well earned. Some people complain it doesn't work, quite possibly they need to disable battery optimisation.
My phone used to automatically play music through Spotify everytime it connected to my car but this app had a setting to stop this. However since the new version of Spotify this no longer is the case. Is there anyway this can be fixed? It was very useful when it worked.
I have a 2018 Chev Silverado. Everytime I start the truck Amazon music starts playing which is unwanted. I have tried every option in the app to stop auto playing with no luck. Also no options to stop auto play via truck entertainment system or Amazon app. Deleting this app now.
I wish It had the functionality of also connecting to Bluetooth devices automatically. But it does what it's supposed to do when it connect to device or rather when you connect to Bluetooth device that stops the music plays music or whatever you want
All Bluetooth devices have a volume setting and are tagged to Stop music from playing. The volume gets set. Regardless of what may have been running prior, the default music player starts after a few seconds.
Solved a problem I was having with my unbranded android stereo, doesn't force ads down your throat, easy setup takes 2 seconds. And does exactly what it says. The perfect app, something I wish we saw more of on the app store.
I have it set up to play Spotify on Bluetooth connect with any device. It sends me a notification to open Spotify on connect and then starts playing from the most recent audio source. Tapping the notification doesn't even start Spotify, just opens it.
Absolutely perfect had an issue when I started my car the fm transmitter bluetooth would disconnect and reconnect and I would have to take my phone out to press play on Spotify this has completely fixed the issue 10/10 one of the few times a niche app store app works perfectly big shout out to the dev
All I want is for my car to not start a semi-random app playing when my phone connects to it. On my S7, this app is able to stop the app from playing, but only after it has already started. Annoying. On my S4, it stops an app from playing after it starts, and then another one starts and is not stopped. Useless.
Love it! Simple, quick, easy and a small file size. My only problem is I wish it had the ability to close the app it's opened when Bluetooth disconnects.
Was excited to find an app that said it could stop an app from playing automatically when Bluetooth connected. Unfortunately, it doesn't do anything. Running Android 10 on a Pixel 3.
I loaded this to stop Spotify automatically playing in my car. I was excited about the STOP music from playing option. Unfortunately it didnt work and Spotify just keeps taking over and playing.
This app was working great on galaxy s8plus however now on the note 9 when I disconnect the bluetooth device the music still keeps playing on the phone [even though I ticked the box in settings to pause and kill the player upon disconnect]
Downloaded to stop annoying autopay when getting into car. Unfortunately it still autoplays despite setting car Bluetooth to stop in the app. I'm on a Pixel 3, android 11. So sad, I was really hoping this would solve my issue. Thanks for trying.
Brilliant - been after this solution for years. Nothing more annoying than my car automatically playing stuff from my phone when I get in it at 5:30am. This app gives the option to stop any apps. Genius.
Very good, does what is supposed to pretty well, I have one problem and that is that it starts playing the most recent thing then after about 1 second it skips the song and plays the next, any solution for this? Tweaks?
This is actually a must have tool if you want to stop audio from playing through your hearing aids automatically and running the battery down. Two of my biggest peeves are the Sirius app and Amazon Music. This neutered both of them.
Most of the time it works, but it's not 100%. It's probably 4 for 5 launching Amazon Music. Usually if it launches it plays, but occasionally it will launch, and not play.
Didn't work for Motorola G6 power running Android 11. It senses the connection and then puts up a message "press to launch (app)".
Perfect , I faced a problem that my phone started to play music when I put my Bluetooth in its holder. Now I can stop it great great 🙂😌 I am very happy to have control again. Thanks 👍
I got this specifically to stop my Galaxy S20 Ultra phone from automatically playing music on my car's Bluetooth when I turn on my car. Stupidly annoying! So far it works and no complaints! I would vote 5 but it's 4 for one reason: a pop-up appears to show the app doing its job but it only says "stopped?" I'm assuming the message has more words but it's a bug.
