BMI Calculator (free)

I'm so bored with persons like Dora and other BENETTA. Why are you so STUPID ?!CHANGE ****THE UNITS***
* and USE ****INCHES***
* NOT FEET !

- Dora, 5'2 = 62 inches, and 62 inches with 120lbs = 21.94 BMI !!!
- Charles and Erik, you are not obese, just stupid.
- Yes Charles, if you put 6 FEET in the INCHES text field and 175 lbs, yes the calculation can't be right. 6 foot = 72 inches with 175lbs = 23.73 BMI !!!My application can not guess that you have not learned to read
- Tom, 25.38, OMG, yes, more than 25 your are overweight, BUT if you exceeded by only 0.38, or 1, seriously! think! A lipo between your ears to get to 25? It's on the house!
- tyler, are you kidding ? BMI is ONLY calculated with Height and Weight (see wikipedia).

IT'S WRITTEN***Weight/lbs**
* | ***Tall/inches**
* IF you choose IMPERIAL UNITS (menu button) OR***Weight/kg**
* | ***Tall/cm**
* IF you choose METRIC UNITS (menu button)

/!\ I want to thank those who took the time to understand this simple app. <3 all ;) (and your comments)Spelling errors in my description? Certainly, but English is not my native language ;)/!\

@Matthew, you're absolutely right, I try to find time to make this small change but it is not easy. Change the unit without going through the menu and allow to set "feet & inches" is the ultimate goal to eliminate all problems. I'm totally zen ;)

This app is a "Body Mass Index Calculator".

BMI cannot be accurate for "athletes" or "muscular persons" ! It's written bellow, in the description of this app ! >>> "The result is valid for "normal" children/adults/m/f (but not for the muscular persons or "athletes"). The BMI formula is UNIQUE, for everybody.

Why there is no GENDER and AGE ?! Again, it's written at the end of the description.***
* The only thing that differs between adults and children is the "reading table". I give you a "general reading table" for ADULTS ONLY (Health Organizations did this, not me) ! The reading tables may differ between country or population (but really not so much... even if they exists). There is a more precise reading table for children 5/19 years made by WHO (World Health Organization : www.who.int). The general reading table is just an INDICATION. If you want some "real" information about your condition, ask your doctor ***

My current BMI is 24.81, 1kg more and OMAGAD I'm in "overweight". And what ? I lift some weights, I run, I'm relatively muscled so there is nonsense to calculate my BMI. If you do sport, if you are in god shape, why do you want criticize a tool who isn't made for you ?

If you start doing some sport, you can use this application to calculate your "first" BMI. When you begin to lose fat and gain muscle, you (maybe) will arrive in the "normal" zone. From there, if you continue to lose fat without gaining too much muscle, you can still calculate your BMI, the reading table will remain accurate for you. By cons, if you keep gaining muscle (AND/OR losing fat), from a certain point, calculate your BMI has absolutely no sense.

Features:
* Units: metric(cm
- kg)/imperial(lbs
- inches) (Use the menu button for changing that)
* Languages: English, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Croatian, Korean
* Long click on the result's zone to reset

FOR CHANGING UNITS, USE THE MENU BUTTON!---THE PROVIDED READING TABLE IS A "GENERAL" READING TABLE.

HOWEVER, IT APPLIES WITHOUT DISTINCTION TO (ADULTS)
- MEN AND WOMEN -. YOU'RE NOT NECESSARILY IN OVERWEIGHT IF YOU EXCEED THE AVERAGE HIGH MORE THAN 0.1.SO BEFORE YOU SAY "NOT ENOUGH FOR PRECISION" THINK ABOUT THAT.HOWEVER IF YOU EXCEED 1 OR MORE OF THE "NORMAL" SLICE, THE READING TABLE WILL APPLY REGARDLESS OF ITS ACCURACY.

BMI IS A SIMPLE "NUMBER". IT IS USED WITH OTHER TOOLS FOR SHAPING A PROFILE OF HEALTH.Again, THIS APPLICATION IS A SIMPLE CALCULATOR. ONLY A DOCTOR WITH YOUR HISTORY OF HEALTH, YOUR BMI, ETC. CAN YOU GIVE MORE INFO ABOUT YOUR HEALTH/OVERWEIGHT/ETC accurately.

Excellent Bmi calculator. Only one I've been using for years. Upgraded to Note 20 Ultra & android 10. Now in metric :( Can't see the 3 dots (menu) button @ bottom right anymore to change to imperial.

I downloaded this just because I loved the description. After having used the app, I can say it might have been nice to input height the way it is printed on my drivers license. However basic math isn't beyond me. Anyone that wants it to take into consideration Race, Age, Gender and etc doesn't seem to understand that won't change the BMI score. Wether you are overweight or not is determined by those charts. If you have a real interest in your weight and health you should know what a healthy BMI is.

The app does just what it's supposed to and is easy to use. Personally I'm frustrated by the BMI in general because for my height I'd actually be underweight if I ever got into the "Normal Range" but the BMI doesn't pretend to be accurate for all body types or really be anything but the most basic measuring scale. Love that the developer of this app is taking crappy app reviewers/commenters to task.

5*s to balance out the idiots (dev - u r my hero lol) but I think 4 stars would be pretty realistic for this app. While I agree that people should think about what they're doing before they downrate, a few tweaks to the app would probably help the mentally underwhelming along. For example, it might be good to restate the details as a result, like "You Entered 200 lbs as your weight and 6 feet 2 inches as your height." A toggle on the main screen for Imperial <-> Metric might also help. Overall a good 1.

This does exactly what I want it for! It calculates the BMI, and it explains, which category the resulting BMI falls into. The results are accurate and correct, which puts this app clearly above average. Up to now I've had to choose between using bulky apps with loads of useless extra features, or calculating the BMI with a normal calculator. This app is nice, small and simple!

Installed it just to leave a comment. Nice app for finding BMI, and because I can read I had no problems understanding 12 IN = 1 FT, BMI is not accurate for Fat/Muscle Ratio below 10% (ie athletic), and that I like Doritos and am slightly over weight according this measurement. I'm not freaking out like someone with poor self image problems.

I know that I'm pretty normal (vegetarian, small frame, etc.) but this app ensured me of that (my score was around 21). I have to admit though, I only downloaded the app for the description. It's brilliant! I really don't know how we're living in the world with so many idiots in it. And to think we might have to interact with them...

If someone will enter 1.75, it is obvious that the intention was 1.75 meters. So you can assume 175 cm and start calculating. If the person really has 1.75 cm height, the BMI is not his/her main problem ;) Example for people using stones, inches, lb and other non-standard units: If you enter 6.2, obviously these won't be inches, but feet. So @Woytec, update this application to cope with stupid users. This will help them remain stupid but also happy ;)

A. G. u. Aug 8, 2011

Dumb people should not be allowed within 6 feet (or is that inches) of a smartphone. I deal with idiot users and their "reviews" daily.

5 stars for both! This is probably in the comments, and partly ranted about already :), but to make it perfect, would be nice to have separate boxes for feet and inches, and not have to go through the menu to switch between metric and imperial. PS total sympathy for your BMI rant because I have bodybuilder types feeling they need to tell me how useless they think BMI is every effing week!

A. G. u. Aug 8, 2011

I wasn't exactly happy with my results, but they are definately accurate. 5 stars for the review alone, Nice app though.

A. G. u. Aug 8, 2011

Does exactly what it claims. Anyone slating this clearly doesn't understand what BMI is. Yeah it's not that good an indication of fitness (being based solely on weight and height) as it will show a lot of sportsman as overweight, but that's the fault of the equation, not the dev. For an 'average joe' it will be pretty accurate.

Easy bmi calculator unless you have the IQ of an infant. If so, I suggest the app that involves you playing frogger on the freeway.

A. G. u. Aug 9, 2011

I too downloaded this app to demonstrate my support for a fellow developer that has gotten fed up with dumb users immediately giving horrible reviews rather than taking the time so send a quick email to the dev asking what is going wrong. Of course they can be bothered to click a simple email link, they just have to ruin a struggling developers livelihood. Hope fully Google will take notice and do something to reform the reviewing process - maybe allowing the developer to respond directly to bad reviews.

I use this program in my medical work. I have had no rounding errors and can calculate with only a few taps. Low memory usage.

Its saying at 120lbs me being 5'4 that I'm overweight. I'm perfectly healthy & my active levels are amazing& this scale is ridiculous!

A basic BMI calculator for folks that use the metric system. There are better calculators available. A big plus is that this app does not drain your resources and is not intrusive.

A. G. u. Mar 2, 2012

So.. downloading just to rate something one star is supposed to "teach a lesson" to a frustrated dev? People need to get off of their self- important, egotistical high horses and just like the app for what it is. A BMI calculator for the literate. The app works as intended. Anyone looking into BMI should know that there are variables and not to expect a 100% accurate measurement of physiologic status from their cellphone. Need a CBC while you're at it? How about a free physical?

Works fine.. don't see how anyone can complain about free apps tht work..five star ratings says it all

Good simple app does what it's supposed to do quickly, neatly, with a minimum of fuss. Love the developer's description so much.

Jon. R. Dec 9, 2012

This app is as pathetic as it's developer. You will never get an accurate BMI based off of inputting height and weight. Though, more importantly, I would never support a developer that 'flames' their own users in the description. Shame there isn't a 'Report to Google' button.

A. G. u. Apr 11, 2011

Great. Does just what it's supposed to. Pay attention what measurement system you are using and input your height in inches, not feet.

A. G. u. Nov 20, 2011

I downloaded only to post this review. I am not going to use as developer is rude and should really think be he writes in the description of app.

A. G. u. Aug 7, 2011

Props to the dev for speaking his mind in the description. Thumbs down to the over sensitive idiots who blame the app/dev for their weight problems.

A. G. u. Aug 8, 2011

Does what it's supposed to do. Accurate as it should be. The dev is correct in that BMI will vary from person to person based on fitness level. Thanks

A. G. u. Aug 8, 2011

Good app. Sorry there are so many numbskulls complaining when they just have no idea what they are doing. Installed just to give you 5 stars
