User experience has been improved a lot compared to last year. Login journey is still not as smooth which got me pretty annoyed at times - intermittent and repetitive loading journeys. I don't like the idea of forcing the users to view your ads before they can perform mobile banking related actions. Overall still pretty good.
Better than what it used to be(an app of frame with the website)... But still horrible, the speed is just the worse. Pressing any options in the app takes 5-7 seconds to load. Almost unusable.
The app is all and well until the point where it requires the mobile token(security identification), only a certain amount of phone brands are supported, but other large brands like OnePlus me and many of my friends use is not supported, which essentially left the app completely useless. Get OnePlus on the list.
App is not user friendly. It also lacks biometric login such as finger print scanner and face ID for my phone (all other bank apps I use have this enabled including HSBC, SCB, amex). So I have to type the username and password each time I login. Because of the lack of biometric security and 2 step verification, I have to carry around an ancient, antique of a device that generates a code each time I want to make any transaction.
BE AWARE! This may be used to steal and capture your personal information and identity. Says new customers can open a savings account using app, but doesn't work. Captured my photo ID and facial recognition without asking for confirmation or assigning an account #. STAY AWAY.
Basic functions all there but it's way too slow! I've seen my friends use apps of other banks and they're way faster. I mean, it's not really that hard to optimize an app to make it move faster right?
Worst bank and non-userfriendly app ever. When I just wanted to update my email address, I got to download this trashy app and went through bouts of steps for setting up security stuff, and still could not do it until I went to their bank counter.
My 4G and WiFi works Perfectly with any other app except for this one, keeps saying I have no Internet connection and that I should check my network settings. You should check you crappy app, why download it when you can't use it when you need to use it? Where's the 0 star rating? Doesn't even deserve 1 star when it can't do a thing at all
worst moblie banking app I have ever had, this is really bs. first you open the app and it takes 10sec because it needs to load bunch of useless bank functions which general role won't use, then you click the overall account and it takes another 5 sec to get into the log in site, which is totally trash program.
Please consider to include "GOOGLE PIXEL 3" as the compatible Android mobile devices for using the intended mobile application such as "BOCHK" and "BOC Pay" with fingerprint sensor enabled. Also, please enable to use fingerprint authentication (like Touch ID for iPhone) for login and using mobile token. Thank you for again receiving my opinion. This is my fourth email toward the company that indicating my opinion. My tolerance is not unlimited, please sincerely review my cases.
- Very slow - Cant use dark mode. Because background dont change to black, but the letters (for password and login name) do change to white. - UI very not logic Needs some improvements.
User interface ok, but simply starts up too fast, almost 30 seconds just to open up the app before asking for password. Really not acceptable.
GUI Very sluggish and development is very slow, all other major banks had updated the app with biometric features support for Samsung S10/Note 10 more than 9 months ago, this app still do not support. S20 / Notes 20 are already out in the market too. Tech team of BOC is so incapable
Horribly implemented app. Bank staff told me to dowload this app to open an account online as I am overseas. I managed to jump through all the usual HKID and facial recognition hoops only to be told to enter BOC card number and ATM pass before going any further. I'm a new to bank customer FFS, how am i supposed to have a BOC card when I don't even have an account yet? Well done BOC, NOT.
Icons can't show completely. Not able to input account/password/code since the keyboard will flash back, can only login by using fingerprint.
Too slow and the mobile security code supports too few models of devices. Need to support more devices. Now if a device is not tested, it is simply blocked from the mobile security code feature.
Asked a lot of private information while trying to set up an account online. When I reached the final stage, I was told to open the account at a local branch. Very concerned of my personal information collected by them without opening an account!
Requires you to download their apk outside of google app store. This to me seems like they are doing something so invasive to your privacy in the new update that google won't allow it. Guess I won't be using the app at all then.
After a long time, mobile token is still not supported on Pixel phone. Need to input user name and password every time you leave the app for a while. I want to rate 0 star for this app if I can.
Have tried a lot of times to lock in but without success. Even tried to change the password but failed. Useless app.
Funny how there is a character restriction for the password input... when there is no character restriction for setting a password... Anyone with a password longer than 12 characters can kiss this all goodbye.
Time to time I check my savings and its good no hassle no deduction etc. Withdrawal and deposit is so fast as 1second I received it. And time to time by emails and by text they update me from the receiver and from me hm I send thanks boc! Ure the best
Rubbish, the mobile token function of it only support special smartphone brands only, even though your smartphone have figerprint function too. That's mean you can't do anything with this app.
Mate 20 after system update doesn't work with the app. Stay on the login page and keep loading forever. Saying mobile token was deactivated.
Words could not describe how ridiculous it is when mobile token is still not available on ALL models of Google Pixel phones when even Xiaomi phones do. [Edit] June 2019 - Fingerprint login and mobile token are both working on Google Pixel devices finally after a long wait. Thank you for listening! Rating revised to 5 stars.
Take too long to load and not responsive to all these AI enabled features. Need more improvements and finally removed 😔
Money token for designated transaction did not function, no error message nor help notes, after entering the password submit button was deemed, the app seemed not knowing whats going on.
worst app ever. keep telling me the password is incorrect but I always use the same one to log in internet banking account.
The app doesnt work properly on blackberry key 2! im unable to type in my login information. Please fix it asap!
Not the best UI design I've used for a banking app, the home screen is too busy, plus the transition to the next page could be smoother. Moreover BOCHK app doesn't have its own keyboard for security like other banking apps I've used which could have the potential for sensitive data leakage with 3rd party keyboard. But the app is working which is good, less bank statement, less paper.
