Boingo rep here is tone deaf. Everyone has the same problem and error message to uninstall and reinstall. They want each person to contact support for the same issue. App is totally unreliable. The listing of hotspots not even close to being accurate. It hasn't been outdated in almost a year. I'm writing mastercard about this

same problem as other users. it shows a Boingo WiFi available, but when you try to connect it says: "We weren't able to connect". This was in Zurich Airport, and main train station. I've only been able to connect to a wifi once using this app, but then it said there was no internet. But when it's installed it's the app that uses the most power for the day.

Glitchy, doesn't include all at once (passpoint profiles ask to be installed separately and it doesn't work... Why not I clude all in one app?), consumes battery like crazy ( there's no way to disable WiFi scanning too), shows WiFi points of Toronto subway for some reason (why? It has nothing to do with boingo). I don't know why this app exists, I would rather Google boingo addresses myself.

Keeps hanging and seems to consume a great deal of battery power! Moreover, it only ever seems to connect to something where I already have access to anyway. The craziest thing it did at one stage was to ask me to log in as it had inexplicably logged me out and of course it needed Wi-Fi to do that. Fairly useless to be honest.

Don't waste your time or money. The app rarely works on either Android or Windows. Several upgrades & uninstalls later (on several devices on both platforms), it still only works the first time or two, then nothing. Tech support doesn't have a clue. Avoid!

Useless. I thought this app/company had its own hotspots you could connect to. It seems to just scan for open wifi networks, which your phone can already do. So, I don't understand the purpose of this app...

This app does not find WiFi hotspots when connected to cellular data, even when WiFi is on. The app says "You are online with cellular", however I want to use WiFi in order to reduce cellular data usage. Also, this app regularly closes itself when running in the background.

I installed it ahead of time but it seems to be constantly searching despite me trying to disable it. It's draining my battery too much, I may try to re-install closer to my travel date.

never worked for me. every step scanning... connecting... canceling takes forever. when opening the app there is no options to check settings and account and it goes directly to scanning which takes longgggg time. wifi connection also takes a really long time and eventually tells it failed, no reason.

I have never in the past 3 years managed to have this app connect to one the claimed million or so wifi hotspots when I need it. It seems to only be able to claim networks I am already connected to. I got access as a benefit my credit card fee and reinstalled this app thinking connectivity might be better and was promptly disappointed.

Connections drop after 30 seconds. I have a constant notification that says it's scanning for Wi-Fi signal. Overall the app is just a really poor experience. I love the service idea but the execution here is lackluster.

Every Hotspot I've tried has failed to work or has been terribly slow with intermittent connection. Every corner is littered with 2.4 ghz connections making it nigh on impossible to get a decent signal. These Hotspots are part of the problem and not worth your money.

The app is broken in so many ways when it comes to login, detection of wifi, and the basics that you would probably expect this app to do. Also the WiFi service is garbage, can't stay connected to anything for then 15 minutes. Don't use Boingo unless it's for buisness or quick use. Only use the free service cause if you pay for anything, you don't get what you pay for. Basicly, Do Not use for gaming, Entertainment, or Streaming service. It is Extremely Unreliable.

Good service, however it chews through my battery and seems to take ~10% every 2 hours. I've had to uninstall this on my Samsung mobile along with 2 other people I recommended this service to because of it. You can't be travelling around countries, using your mobile to have this app take up all your battery so you therefore cannot use your phone.

Got free access through my credit card. Honestly most of the time it never worked. It would connect, but no internet. The notes for manual connections to Japan wifi didn't work either. So glad I never paid for this, otherwise I'd be really upset.

Could hardly connect anywhere, even when it found connections it would have an error, and on the off chance i did connect it would last about 60 seconds before needing to reconnect. Regret paying for this. DO NOT BOTHER!

It never works. I see boingo wireless in airports and then I try to use the app to connect. It always fails with "we weren't able to get you connected to this hotspot" even though I have premium plan via Amex.

Never could login to hotspots plus this app would lock my s9+ to the point of having to reboot to use the phone. When it did not lock the phone, the 4G internet access would not work. Had to uninstall. Hopefully this app gets updated and will work.

Android app doesn't work at all. Tried Android 9 and 10 on my Pixel 2 phone. Standing within range of Starbucks, it says Boingo WiFi detected, but it refuses to connect to the Passpoint even though I have installed the Boingo certificate. Colleague standing next to me using his iPhone app connects without issues. What gives?

I have this app on my phone (came with a credit card) and found it completely useless. It very rarely succeeds in connecting with a wiFi. Recently has stopped working altogether.

Doesn't work. Only "connects" to wifi that I already have access to. Does not connect to twc Hotspots or other boingo Hotspots that aren't free. Definitely not with paying for. I really don't understand the point of having a boingo account. Only have it because it's free with one of my credit cards

Only connects to WiFi you can already access for free without app. Also always running and searching. I don't need an app to tell me I'm connected to my home network. Completely useless.

The app is having a hard time connecting anywhere. Got disconnected frequently when connected. App runs constantly in the background and drains battery. It also requested system permission.

The app almost never works completely. I can login to my boingo account and it finds hotspots. But then I am never able to connect to the hotspots. Therefore the app is missing it's usefulness.

Notifications won't go away. I had to uninstall this app because it constantly runs with a notification I can't minimize. If all apps were like this, I'd have hundreds of notifications making them all useless. Bad design.

Total waste of time and money!! I fell for it and and am completely unsatisfied!! Couldn't connect to wifi at all anywhere I tried to use it. wish I could give zero stars....
