Bokeh simulator/DOF calculator
Calculates and simulates the depth of field and background blur (bokeh) on a photo including perspective distorsions and diffraction effect. It also visualizes the DOF range. You can choose from 4 ultra high resolution backgrounds, 8 models of different height and 10 kinds of bokeh.
Parameters that can be set:
- lens focal length
- aperture
- sensor/film size or camera model
- distance of the model and the background from the camera
The application calculates:
- depth of field range
- background blur size
- hiperfocal distance
- diffraction effects
All changes in parameters directly affect the preview
- you can easily observe thieir insluence on the resulting photo. Saving the parameters sets on a list allows to directly compare the outcome of different equipment configurations.
Comprehensive help and a guide that presents all the features helps to undertstand the meaning of all presented parameters even for beginner amateurs of photography.

5 stars! If you a visual learner and want to understand how depth of field works with different aperture settings and distances, then the DOF simulator app and/or website is an incredible resource. Excellent for photography students. Highly recommended.
Just brilliant. I can now take my tablet and get the right DOF if I am out in the field and need an exact calculation. I shoot with micro 4/3 so conventional charts don't give me what I need - this app has all the camera formats on tap.
Wouldn't run. Crashes immediately. My OS asked to clear the cache, but that didn't do anything. So... Doesn't work.
Can't use it on s21 note ultra, says app has a bug, try using it when developer has an update. App needs to be updated, enjoyed using it on my last phone. Last update was 2 years ago...
Easy to understand. Accurate in showing DOF. Let's you customize any focal length and even accounts for crop factor.
Hides on screen buttons on phones which don't have the physical buttons. This makes it impossible to exit the app.
Easily my favourite. I'm no pro at keeping my distance yet for shooting wide open and this helps. Thank you!
App won't load. Crashes on app and says to clear cache
I've used the web version of DOF but unfortunately it won't work on my phone. I don't know if it's because my phone is newer or something. Just be nice to know what the problem is.

A nice app if you have got loads of time and patience because it's very fiddly.
Goodness me. The world's being down dumbed at a rate that will gave humanity crawling on all 4 in a few years. But don't worry. All you need is an app and you'll be a Pro. Learn photography, idiots, then you needn't calculate anything and preview a dumb ugly artificial model.

Really excellent to see the understand the combination of focal length and f stop number to use on your camera to get the desired look you want...Especially good to see at what distance and what part to focus @ each parameters to get the optimum bokeh we all crave for..you can easily input your camera model and lens and get to see what all is possible with those. Also helps in allowing to simulate other lens's effect on your camera before actually purchasing. kudos to the developer and well done.
